So far. I’ve looked at two UA-cam sites vis a vis setting up my timer. Both sites have been useless. The basic setups that have been shown are simple and easy to program. Beyond that no one seems to know or care. And listening to this guy will put you to sleep.
Ah, one start time for all zones. See, none of the other videos mentioned that and it seems to have been exactly my trouble! I had it watering every hour when I only needed to tell it once! Thanks!
You are VERY thorough! Thank you very much. I think once you put in the time you want it to run, you don't need an "end" time. Again, thank you SO much!!!! I am not a technical person. So glad my friend sent me this that you recorded!
Thank you so much for this video!! I could not figure the timer out. A technician had installed and programmed it for me and my lawn and plants were blooming and beautiful. I wanted to change the settings to every other day because my lawn was growing too fast. I messed it up because it was running when it shouldn't. With this video I can finally program it the right way.
Thank you. I just gave you a thumbs up and I subscribed so I could go back and find you and see other videos. You explained this very well. I have lived in my house 2 years and have not been able to figure this thing out. You made it so simple that I wished I had found your video sooner. 🙂👍 Thanks so much!!
This was so helpful! After watching some other videos and reading the manual, your video finally made me understand the difference between setting ABC programs and setting stations. Seems like I would only need B or C if I wanted to water one zone every day and a different zone not every day.
Hello there I hooked up a station timer last year and got it to run just fine but for some reason it lost the settings so I had to redo it this year and having difficulties with it. Your video help answered one of the questions. The other question is I got three zones in the yard that go off at 6 in the morning. The 4th Zone I have to go off at 4:30 in the afternoon. They are all on program a right now. Would I need to put the fourth Zone on B or C program?

First thank you for taking the time to share this helpful info. One question is: Can Program A and B have the same start time? I still need more help and I have left 2 messages with Orbit and they text that they will call me back but they have not. I don't have the manual and it seems that I would have to buy it on line?? I am housesitting for someone and need help for more watering time.
Thank you for your helpful video . I was wondering if you could explain one part to make sure I understand. If I have my stations set up to start at 6:00 am and I have my run time set for 10 minutes per station . Will it begin at 6:00 and run for 10 min in station 1, then 10 min in station 2, etc? But I only need to set up one start time?
I have 8 zones I would like for each zone to water for 15 minutes each and then start a second cycle of 15 minutes each for each zone. Do I use program A with a start time for the first 15 minutes and program B for the second 15 minutes cycle?
No continue with program (A) with start time (2) unless for some reason you timer doesn’t have additional start times, most timers have (3) start times or more
Thank you for such detailed video. I set the timer and the sprinklers never stop they go in cycles from station 1 -3 and start with station 1 again. Any idea?
Check and see if there is others start times and if there are any other programming in B or C if not your timer is malfunctioning and you need a new one
My Orbit 57896 timer was working great, then suddenly this morning the auto program started extra zones that aren't included in the program. We have six sprinkler zones, we only turn on 2 and 4 with the program, one at a time, 15 minutes each, but this morning zone 5 came on with zone 2. I moved the program on time so it would start again on auto, and the same thing happened, zone 5 comes on with zone 2. When I run the program manually, not using the auto function, zone 2 only comes on like the program says. Very bizzare. Maybe I need to use that factory reset and start over?
Did you figure out how to fix the clock that stays behind? Or the battery that shows empty and loses all programming after each power down? Or did you just throw that trash away, and got a new one? Can you please inform the rest of us of the model you got?
6 Station model (57896): 0:34 SET CLOCK 2:00 SET DATE 5:03 START TIME -Notes about start time 3:334:40 6:06 RUN TIME(s) -Note about run time 9:18 10:51 HOW OFTEN Note about INTERVAL 11:50 13:04 Move to AUTO to begin Thanks for the video. Do you know how to CLEAR "Program B" without losing "Program A?" Would I use the PROGRAM button then hit CLEAR?
Great video! I love this timer. Could you please let me know how to skip a section? I have an area that was a veggie garden and due to the water shortage I am letting it go. I can't seem to set that section to 0. Thanks in advance.
When you press enter after you’ve put your desired (1st) start time the(2nd) start mode will automatically pop up, enter your desired time , make sure you have a (PM) on the lower right side of the time placed
For your first question, when you set a start time whatever zones are on that program, you've set that start on those zones will go on one at a time as each zone runs its time out, so depending on the amount of total runtime will you know when it is all finished, 2nd question the timers will allow you many on time hours. Thanks for stopping by.
Hello so could you clarify if i set everything ive tried program a and also all three programs and only the front works. Is it because i didnt set each station time individually? So i could run one program and start time but the run time needs to be put into each station?? Right now just rhe front yard is getting water
@@escompleteyardwork2984 can you use it straight off a water tank without a pump at low pressure. rather than a mains tape which comes out at a much higher pressure.
Nice video, My Orbit, (the second one) is finally working zones 1, 2, 3, on program A, but it does not stop after it has done so. Currently its, under interval is for every day , M thru Sun. My question, since it goes thru the watering cycle once then goes again without stopping, can I use INT in the programming that comes up "1 days" to make it water everyday without having to select each day, MTWTHFRI SAT SUN? Will this maybe help? Thanks for your response, Orbit Customer care really, really poor in response.
I have a weird problem. I have 5 stations at my house. When I turn the knob to Run Time and then press the arrow to station 5, it always goes back to station 1. Like station 5 is not even there. But I am able to manually turn on station 5 for watering. Any ideas?
At the End of the Video, it Shows that You Have A Time Set Up for 8:41 pm - But you didn't show when you set up that time. I assume it was Set Up In Program B, but I'm not sure. Every Video on You Tube seems to Only Show Program A.
So sorry for the delay use the second start time, when you go to the start time on the dial you’ll see it has start time (1) then press the arrow to the right of the dial and it will change to start time (2) proceed to the time you want
My advice to people who has low water pressure. Try to program your system around 2-5 am . When you’re asleep when you’re not going to take a shower, or when you’re not going to do dishes or laundry.
The (3) programs are used for areas of your landscape that require more or less water from other areas. For example your lawn areas would need more water we're as a planter area with succulents would need less and less days, so the programs give that option to separate the different areas according to the watering needs.
Why would you add up all the run time for each station? They all have the same start time, just add the one with the longest run time, then you can figure out when the timer stops when all the watering for all stations is done.

The orbit timer is one of the most frustrating timers! It doesnt water my zones correctly which makes me think its broken or wired wrong!
Give me an example
Like for example, I set mine for 4:25 am and it's not running at 4:25 am.
Why would you add up all the run time for each station? They all have the same start time, just add the one with the longest run time, then you can figure out when the timer stops when all the watering for all stations is done.
At 4:06 he explains that only the first zone/station starts at the START TIME.
