Paul, I must confess... I've been dabbling in website creation on and off for a number of years. It's only after I started watching your videos that I realised 1. how important it is to have a readily accessible, fully equipped developer "tool box" 2. I don't have to remortgage my house to do it (ok, remortgaging may be a bit of an exaggeration). What you bring to the table, Paul, is the offering of options, the demonstration of the options (which highlight the advantages/disadvantages of each) and, always at the end of the order, your opinions. All in all, a well balanced and fruitful experience for the the viewer. More importantly (for me), it encourages action. Top man! Sincerely!
The WPTuts site is mainly just for having a location for the videos to be linked as well as a few expanded articles. So, I'm not really too bothered about monitoring the traffic and I don't really find GA to be very user friendly. There is just way too much data for most users who simply want to see how well their site is doing. Plus, all the tracking data, GDPR concerns, etc., make it a bit of a pain to include if not needed.
@@WPTuts Makes perfect sense. I agree that Google Analytics isn't very user friendly, and it's a mess of info that makes my head explode. Do you use GA or another analytics tool elsewhere, if you have other sites where you do want to track stats?
I've never used Google analytics. I get all the data I need within search console. The additional info I'd get from GA like what devices people used, what countries they were from isn't relevant. Every website I build will be mobile responsive and load quickly wherever it's viewed from.
@@hannahdobbs226 I have Google Search Console on my primary site (my own), but I rarely look at the stats. I'm trying to get better at making use of my tools, but I'm so busy just trying to produce content that the analytics are way down the list.
Hi thanks for this! I’m looking for something like this and a way to organize all the tools, websites I visited for info and content sites needed to build a website. I’ve looked into tab managers ect but need more into organizing all the contact information, and I obtained in an organized format. I hope that makes sense. Thanks! I guess what I’m looking for is a way web creators organize their computers and desktop dashboard, etc..
The browser responsive device emulators are unreliable; all they are doing is emulating the viewport and not the actual browser's that run on mobile devices. Use the emulators for preliminary design but we still have to test on the actual devices.
Thank you very much for these helpful tool recommendations; they will be really useful to me. WASK’s tools are currently being used by me to help me enhance my work. Although this tool is not fully free, I believe it is available for free for the first two weeks.
bluetree: The output of bluetree was rubbish in my tests. Didn't you noticed the text at the bottom that tells us that screenify is discontinued? 😉 cookiemetrix: didn't found any cookies on my sites, although there are 6.

Hopefully, you still found some super useful tools included. :)

Superb info! Thank you Paul!
All of these look extremely useful. Thank you, Paul.
100% my pleasure :)
@WPTuts - Great video. Question, what's your rationale behind not running/using Google Analytics?
I was about to ask Paul the same question!
