The Base is a great place to stay short term. At least the room that I stayed in which was almost exactly the same as the one this man stayed in.The facilities are excellent, the location can't be beat, and the building is nice but the room is SUPER tiny. But for a clean, comfortable, and cheap place to stay in Pattaya this place does the trick!
Excellent vedio. There used to be a basketball half court. Hope it's still there. Just one thing to know that in Thailand condos are not meant to be rented for less than a month. The base security on this point is relaxed.
Nice. Considering it actually after I came across your video by chance. Booked Hilton Pattaya for next week, then Singapore and after that I may come back to Pattaya. With the cash I will have burned by then 🤣, I would then seriously consider the nice condo you showed us.
Hi Scott, you got a great deal for 90 quid! i just booked here for 9 nights and it cost me 300 quid with ocean view (1 bed condo) , i am a bit concerned about the size of the condo so i may switch, i am not travelling until march so will keep an eye out. thanks for the review.
It's high season in Thailand now and all travel restrictions have been lifted. He would never get for 90 quid now. Luxury condos that you used to be able to rent for 10k a month are now 20k. Prices have in some cases more than doubled. I've lived 10 years btw.
I stayed there, but like all Pattaya condos, the bathroom lighting is so terrible and dim that it’s impossible to shave properly or put on makeup. Also the bed is so hard it’s like sleeping on the ground. However the infinity pool is great and the location is perfect.
Truly amazing review, thank you for sharing this. I am planing my trip to Pattaya and saw some really good apartments at the base an edge but, after this review and, the huge price difference between the 2 buildings, the base it’s my choice. There are no issues with guests coming over right? Thanks again.
Very good video. Thank you for all the information. We booked for 8 weeks from November 24 on. One question: Is there any (maybe hidden) exit towards Buakhao direction or do you always have to go via 2nd road?
It is a decent place, all rooms are a copy/paste of each other :). A few things that I did not like: * Some people in the swimming pool did not care about following the rules and walked with their trainers on the swimming pool area. Also saw an Indian lady swimming with underwear instead of a bikini, so some people that stay there are very disrespectful in the rooftop swimming pool area basically. * The gym, although it looks modern and new, some machines have rusty parts or are not working well, very bad of no maintenance of the gym machines basically. * You can hear the near pubs and bars music from the room at night, so if you are super sensitive about it and you like to go to bed early, this might be a problem for you. * The glasses of the rooftop swimming pool were not very clean, so it kind of kills the magic of looking at the city at night from the swimming pool through a blurry-dirty glass.
@@onlyscott2573 is there baht buses going up and down pattaya thai or from grass suites, im lookin at stayin at grass suites too as its close to the muay thai gym im wanting to go too but would like to get down to central every now and then
It’s totally subjective…I don’t drink so save on that but spend on other things like nice clothes and gym membership I would say $2000 usd would be the minimum for a decent retirement to include condo, bills, visa and everything else Many people live on less though but I wouldn’t want to have to budget that much
If you wanna stay short term go stay at a hotel that’s what they’re designed for condos are designed for people to live in long-term We don’t want high turnover and people transit coming in and out
What a Fantastic review, well filmed and great content...Thanks

I'm back in pattaya may next year i will look at staying here it looks great i stayed in jomtien this year but want to stay more central next time
Dayum things have changed. Can’t wait to get home eeeeeiiiiiii
I will visit the base next weekend. Cant wsit for it. Thanks for the Video
It looks like that would be a suitable for long term rental. Thanks for the video.
It is indeed,thanks for watching
I was there for 2months during pandemic
Great review. Will be staying here next trip to Pattaya, for sure!
The amenities set this place apart from the competition. The view from the pool looks amazing.
Yep I am always very happy when I stay there, perfect location as well
It’s a condo building not a hotel there is no front desk or anything like that.
You could bring a brass band in and nobody would say a word
The Only 2 Downsides to the The Base is that the Beds are Hard and During High Season Doors slam 24 hours a Day. Besides those two it’s great !
Excellent vedio.

Didn't talk because someone was having a workout. The great british manners 🇬🇧😋
Nice review . We will go there in august !
Enjoy
Stayed there 3 days couldn't wait to leave so many better options out there.....

That yellow sofa is still there I have been there in dec 2017

Only exit is 2nd road.
Thank you. One more question: I havn'nt seen showers near the swimming pools. Are there any?
@jochenwegener9892 yes

high sill at the sliding door bedroom, when it come to monsoon season in Thailand you will understand . 😁
I am on the 17th floor but it sort of makes sense
@@onlyscott2573 Can you recall how many levels building B had?
I think 27
Access to both buildings pools?
Not bad for the price.
Shame the rooftop pool and lounge are closed ! I stayed here last week and you couldn't use it thr doors were locked with an out of order sign sad 😞
Yeah I think they are doing some repairs due to some high winds that caused damage.
I think the second pool is still open though.
I'm booking this on a hotel website where do I go to check in and get the key
Any issues bringing a guest back to the room ?
None
What's the joiner policy on this place? Do they allow multiple joiners?
You could take a brass band in there and they wouldn’t care
Are there a receptionist for rent directly 1or 2 months from them at the base.
No,you would need to use air bnb or equivalent for short term rental
What time did you go to the pool? there was no one there. 😅
as soon as it opened at 8am...I wanted to film but also not disturb anyone
How's the wifi?
It will depend on the unit you are in as the package is up the owner, mine was very fast
How fast was the internet?
Depends on the individual unit
What the name of those condos? I think I may have missed...
The Base
Thanks, multitasking...lol
Superb and thanks for showing us around. I'd been looking at the Grass Suites for a 60 days stay but this is definitely an option.
Grass suites is a bit too far along Pattaya Tai unless you have a motorbike for my liking

A few buses but not as frequently…no idea where your MT gym is
no sauna or hammam?
No
amazing
Do the bars still have COVID testing to get in?
"officially" yes
The rooms are just to small here .great facilities but the size of the rooms spoil it
They do have 2 bedroom ones on the upper floors but obviously you pay more....
@@onlyscott2573 try centara very simular but bigger rooms and roughly same price....
Its the one with the silver bear outside
@@fatbob3632 cheers I will take a look
Is it true this is a completely smoke free complex?
Probably can smoke in the room but not in the common areas
@@onlyscott2573 on the room balcony only, I was told
Sounds pretty fair,I don’t smoke so not a concern for myself
Is smoking allowed??
On balcony I would assume
how to book? like a hotel?
Maybe check air bnb
What the price of this
Watch the video I mention it many times
90 GBP a week….really??? Are you sure you paid soooo less?😮…..such a beautiful property
3 years ago i did,a lot more now though
Hi...it is only for rent ? Can buy?
You can buy but property tends to lose its value in Thailand so renting is advised particularly for condos
@@onlyscott2573 thanks for answer...the cost of living about you for a good retire (rent a condo max 500$ and the rest) ? How much per month?
