Gutter brooms, or side brooms are the brooms on the side of street sweepers - usually pick-up sweepers or vacuum sweepers - although there are a few sweeper attachments that have the option for a gutter brooms. Gutter brooms are round in shape and pull the debris from the curb line into the center of the sweeper so that it can be picked into the hopper. Most gutter broom bristle is wire but there are some that have poly bristle which is typically use for airport sweeping and other places where wire is prohibited.

On my now out dated Athey I got ten days on a set of gutter brooms on milling jobs. 3 months on a rear broom even across, no coning.
