The zeiss is obviously not a night or low light lens. It's a great lens. It's not for bokeh and night shooting.I can use a 200$ F 1.2 prime for low light and easily compare to the 2.8 GM.. at f8 and what most people do...shoot in the day.. the zeiss is a great lens.
Nice review, really insightfull, thanks a lot! I'm trying to choose between 24-70 f4 Zeiss and 24-70 f2.8 GM ii for camera B, that i'm going to use in combination with 16-35 f4 Zeiss on camera A indoors for video in totally controlled environment in terms of light. And the fact 24-70 f4 Zeiss has this greenish tint means that I'll have to color correct to compensate for it. This is not great. But if my 16-35 f4 Zeiss has the same greenish tint, that would mean that it's better to avoid getting 24-70 f2.8 GM ii for my particular case, because if there's no tint difference, there's no need in color correction. Do you have any experience with 16-35 f4 Zeiss, and maybe spotted some tint issues there?
@@NOlimitsON after asking, I thought, damn, I've been using 16-35 Zeiss for several years now, and why am I asking you about its tint. I just wanted to hear the opinion from an expert. And I got it. Thanks, appreciate it.
Looks like you mislabelled or mixed up the stabilisation tests as the labelled GM 2.8 is darker than the Z 4 and much more stable (where you said that the Z 4 is more stable). Could you check?
Thanks for checking. Still it's a bit strange, as you say that the 24-70 Zeiss f4 is more stable with its optical stabilisation, when in fact the video on the right is far more stable, at least to my eye. @@NOlimitsON
could someone tell me what a comparison between 2300€ and 680€ lens is worth ? someone who can will buy the gm , but for most people on a budget that test is absolutely worthless, yes i learn that a much more expensive lens is better ,of course otherwise you could call it a scam. compare lenses of same price class.
Its a great review, but i think it doesn't makes sense that you are comparing the gm f2.8 to the zeiss f4.0... it would be a better comparison to do gm f4.0 vs zeiss f4.0
What would you pick? 24-70 GM II lens, or a different option?

I would prefer the Auto mode on the aperture ring to be on the 2.8 side, rather than 22 as is the case.
I think if budget is a bit tight then Samyang's new 24-70mm f/2.8 AF is the best choice. Also it cost nearly as much as the Zeiss.
Not a bad choice)
And weights a ton...
@@rayhinto But be mindful of the Samyang 24-70mm f2.8 as many have got faulty, broken ones.
@@Bo_Hazem I will pick the sigma 28-70 f2,8 it is an high end product and only around 400g
@@rayhinto I have it, its focus breathing is perfect for video. Cons are the yellow tint and the focus isn't as fast as the GM. Would say 9/10.

Thanks) I think for b-cam you’ll be more than fine with Zeiss 24-70 f4. I didn’t use the 16-35mm f4 Zeiss, so no idea to be honest 😅

nicely done! I’ve been using the Sigma ART and love it
Thanks mate) stay tuned!
between sigma art vs sony GM gen 1, what do you prefer?
never used the sony gm v1, but i love the sigma. just bought their new 70-200 too and love it
what model of diapters did you use in the comparison with the zeiss lens? thanks
Some cheap no name diopters from AliExpress
thanks man , I appreciate your excellent work
Thank you!

it's actually correct) I've double checked it

After Sony released the 20-70 f4 G, the Zeiss will have to be much cheaper to make sense.
20-70 is so awesome!
Expect mobile camera composition in next video
