If you had to trade in the Sport Glide, and we're staying in the Harley family I think you would be majorly disappointed. The sport line gives you so much more fun puts a smile on your face every time and gets up and goes with enough luggage run on a weekend or put a backrest on with the tall bag and run for couple weeks. Also it's the most comfortable Harley I've ever ridden and I've ridden a bunch it fits me perfect but it is your decision when I think you will regret..........Ride hard or stay home😎

I never said I was getting rid of it anytime soon. Eventually I might.
I agree! The smiles per gallon factor are out of this world with the Sport Glide!

Liked this vid. I think I commented elsewhere I am looking to upgrade from my 02 VStar 650. Was dead set on a Heritage but after sitting on both I am really considering a Sportglide. The mini faring is growing on me and the bags are far better IMO.

Thats exactly what I did. Went in for a Heritage, rode away on a Sport Glide. Test rode both! I highly suggest riding all the options you are considering. Most Harley dealers don't have a problem with that at all.
The mini fairing to me is really good. I prefer having some wind in my face. It also takes a decent amount of wind off my torso. The bags are slightly larger than the heritage bags as well.

@@Silverbulletzx3 I was actually surprised when I went in to see the bikes in person. The bags on the Heritage seem not any bigger than my 650 VStar. Seemed really cheap to me for a 20K+ bike.

I love my SG, so I won’t be trading up or down, but if I like everyone else wins the lottery, then it would be adding to the stable. Oh well one can dream. 😴😴😴🏍🏍🏍

Once the FLSB is paid off, I’m probably gonna add either a MT09 or MT10 in addition to a track day used ninja 250/300/400. But if we’re to trade in the SG, I’d probably get either the Heritage Special or a Road King Special.

Yeah, I really...I mean REALLY like the Road King Specials!

I like the LRS but couldn’t give up my SG for it. One cause I love my less common SG and two because with 36” inseam I don’t think I could go back to mid controls. Spoiled I’ve come to love the forward controls for my fast good handling and comfortable cruiser. If I wanted a track bike I’d get a track bike. If I wanted a road couch I’d get one. So Wouldn’t trade any of the other Harley’s for my particular riding preferences.
I like the idea of adding a BMW 1600B and or a KTM 1290. But really just build your SG up. Stage 3 was good for me as was the 1.75” shock extension so that I stopped dragging my boot and the Gustafsson windshield. Is great for bar hopping and was good for Ohio to Sturgis. 14,000 miles my first 12 months expect to do another 10k my next months despite 60 hour work weeks. Then post warranty build it into 160 HP 128 only because I want to.

I'm torn between the Sport Glide, the Heritage and the Slim. :-)

I was in the same boat. I rode all of them on demo days. The Sport Glide is an amazing bike!!
My riding style has changed recently though. I usually was 80% backroads and 20% highway. We recently bought a house and my commute to work got alot longer and is 99% highway.
I might be looking at a touring model next

If I had to trade mine in it would be for a FLHT or FXFBS.

    • @Silverbulletzx3
      @Silverbulletzx3  3 роки тому

I must say, the FLHT is a killer deal for what you get.
My dealership just put out a Heritage Classic (originally a 107) with the 128 stage 4 kit on it. I've never heard these kits in person...wow they sound good! And I bet that thing runs like a scalded ape!

@@Silverbulletzx3 On the Electra Glide Standard I'd put a 107 to 128 kit in it and a T-Bar setup. A TBR Shorty Turnout exhaust with an Arlen Ness Method air cleaner. I do a San Diego customs seat. And I'd change the stock rubber for either Avon Chrome Cobras or Pirelli Night Dragons. Then my rocket ship is complete.

@@twistieslayer3592 I'd do almost the same. 128 kit, keep the dual exhaust, but change the headers and mufflers. Set everything for 2-up riding, LED lights all around, and I'd be up in the air about the intake. I really like my velocity 65 on my Sport Glide, but I might change it up.
My main goal would be is to make it almost like a sleeper.
