There's one thing about Daniel that hasn't changed that is being a hot head.

johnny was also a hot head, just not in this scene. Both are flawed, but good people deep down.
Oh yeah after losing his father, growing up with a single mother, then moving into a town where he doesn’t know anybody, finds a girl that he likes starts talking to her. Then being bullied by a guy who’s jealous, and got ganged up on. Then running into terry silver where he was befriended by him just so he could work his way into daniel’s head, manipulate him, and get him hurt which made him more of a hot head than he already was. All that stuff that Daniel went through put trauma and anger in his mind forever, that’s why I could understand that he’s a hothead.

It's amazing how far Daniel and Johnny have come since this scene. Their friendship and rivalry really help drive the show, even after 5 seasons

Painful to watch because Johnny and Daniel finally made amends the night before. Johnny was scared at first because he knew how much Sam meant to Daniel. But he became the bigger man and let Sam sleep it off and told Robby he would have his back meaning he was going to try and explain the situation to Daniel like a father to a father. Too bad Daniel overreacted and kicked his door down and almost hurt Johnny after he took care of his daughter for him.

Guys none of you are seeing this from Daniel's perspective. One- that's his daughter. Two- she is in someone else's house and didn't return home after she got drunk at a place where cops ended up. Three- she is in Johnny's house who is leader of Cobra Kai, daniel clearly has unresolved problens with cobra kai as seen in this scene. Four- he is worried for his daughter, he is panicking(as any father would). Five- Johnny didn't explain the situation to daniel, in such times you let the father go to his daughter, instead johnny closed the door on daniels face because he was agitated. Which father would'nt be agitated?
I would have kicked down the door as well. If i am worried for my daughter who is missing, i get a lead, i go there and get confirmation she is inside and then get the door closed on me? No i am kicking it open and fighting anyone who stops me from getting to my daughter

He has every right to be concerned, and upset, but what he told Robby? Robby looks to him as a father-figure/mentor, and Daniel just tossed him out like trash. You just don't tell that to a troubled teen whom is trying to do better and be better.

I'm glad they stopped teasing the rematch and actually had it later on in the series. Too bad they copped out by having it end in a tie.

I actually think any other way would ruin it I mean the point is Johnny and Daniel are two equal forces with opposing philosophies so unless anything gives one an edge they will always tie.
If one loses to the other now there’s no longer an argument.

The main thing with Daniel & Johnny not agreeing are misunderstandings, opposite personalities and not overcoming the past.

I get both sides, but this could’ve been handled with a single phone call or text. Either Johnny or Robby could’ve told Daniel she was sleeping over or Daniel had to calm down. But that’s his daughter in his first rival’s house so his panic is justified, especially after the tournament
If I had been Johnny, I would have gone all the way out of the apartment and shut the door behind me. LaRusso isn't packing, and Johnny knows this, so no danger there. Then just calmly explain to Daniel what happened and what the situation was. Tell the truth, no bullcrap, just straight up. Daniel is mad and he'll interrupt and do his hothead routine, but just ignore it and get him to listen to the truth. I don't think Johnny wanted Daniel to be furious with Robby or Samantha, and talking to him and telling the truth would have gotten Daniel's anger to dissolve sooner. I know this doesn't work all the time, and the show's outcome was probably more realistic, but I'm just trying to think of a way Johnny could have defused the situation.
