This video is way more helpful than actually trying to understand the rule book. You are correct, there are a LOT more hidden rules that’s worth taking a look. My favorite is you are able to dismantle things in the house as well. 🤔

Correction: The don't always die when get to 4. Yes, you will always lose them but sometimes they decide to leave the place, taking some of your goods and never come back, which is even worst then just die :D Great video tho
That’s right, when a character’s State goes above 3, sometimes they leave - instead of dying. But that’s still very bad, because the other characters still have to do empathy rolls… 😭
Great video! Here’s a house rule for Script 333: You roll the black die - 1 to 7 = you lose the game. - 8 to 10 = you lose all your fittings and items in the storage area.
Yeah, that feels like something that they could’ve written up as-is for that rule. Like, it’s punishing, but at least you get a slight chance at continuing to play.
I actjally like this idea , but I'd expand it - since if you left your door unlocked overnight, it's not 100% guarantee someone would come knocking / test the handle So id say 1-3, instant death 4-8 you lose your items in storage 9-10 nothing happens / no one showed up
Great tips. The rule book leaves a lot to be desired. As you rightly said, you could have been playing for a few hours only to realize that you could have done x,y or a but instead you are actually dead ! Yes, there are some really big gaps that needed to be clarified a nd you did that....thank you. The meds and bandages got me stuck so many times as did the silly like your head out of the door and a sniper gets you ! I thought Robinson Crusoe rule book was lousy....em, TWofM has omissions that should never happen in a board game. Set the board as you are ready to go......really ? Kind regards.

I just played my first game tonight - for the Fate & Spirit ability (A,B,C) , where in the rule book does it say that you don't need to resolve it if the character is asleep? The card just says "Resolve SPIRIT (Letter) on all Character cards" I'd love to not have to worry about the Spirit if I have an asleep character lol Edit: Commented a bit premature... this may be under the hidden rules you're talking about. I love this game so far... but honestly I felt like I was missing a 3rd book/core rulebook. The "Journal" feels more like a "how to play" to guide you through a rulebook, but it'd be nice if there was a reference rulebook for all of these items

I like to build the heater and it’s upgraded version, and I always want to build the workshop that lets you build board-ups. Managing cold and raids is usually what I focus on: the rest is gravy.
One of my misunderstandings was. You can't place fittings until you clear the rooms to the action space. Wish that this game would come with an naditional more detailed rulebook, like twilight imperium 4th edition has.
Yeah, the rules in this game are unfortunately spread out all over the place. A better, more concise rulebook would indeed be needed. And yes, you're right: you cannot build a Fitting on a space that already has a card on it (such as Rubble, Bars, Locked Door, etc...) -- you must clear the room first.
Good old script 333. It only gets ya once. Having played the video game version a ton I figured it would wake up sleeping characters and cause extra damage as punishment...nope.
Yeah ... I feel something else (still bad) could’ve been revealed instead of a plain “end game” thing. Maybe have you take a bunch of Wounds and some Misery.... Or even some dice-chucking thing that determines various levels of f*ckery. Anyway, like you said “it only gets you once”!
8:33 wow, fhis is SUPER IMPORTANT and veeery poorly explained in rhe rules, so i often go empty of water and have no idea where to get it while my folks die like flies...😭😭 (but this also made me swap the rule between food and water when it comes to the roll for misery and hunger for food instead not water , if u dont have hater, u automatically get on hunger !!
Very very good Video. Absolutly love This Game. Totally with you with the concealed rule 333 - but it really puts you in the topic. I always read and play first solo to learn and i had a big smile and found that extremly funny (it was probably the only time i laughted during this game..) we loose pretty often because of the huge RNG - 1 wrong decision - 1 die - all get Sad - what a spiral 😅 2 questions as i hate the Art of the rulebook to split the rules up in the Book: Somehow it Come along that a character sleeping during night (does not depend on bed or ground) does not solve the ABCFate?? (Found that stupid because sleeping don’t kill desire to smoke) -? 2. is this „a player wo had 3 day actions can raise tiredness by 2 to do again 3 actions -- was that just a scenario rule from one sheet or is that a Common rule (which i then would probably use in the first round always - cause when ever has a Char 3 actions back - this Happens not that often. i will now Watch your campain Video - have the 2 Add ons but not in German, only english so it holds me back a Bit. The Child Expansion was Great and i feel like i want to enjoy the Text in my native Language. I will see if i need to Double buy- stupid fomo thought they don’t bring this in German
Hi! The “raise Fatigue to get an extra Action” rule is what they call an Advanced Rule - and you can use it in any Scenario. Have a look at the linked files I’ve put in the UA-cam description box; you’ll find a list of them. As for expansion, don’t go buying everything: the base game offers enough for a lifetime. Once you become good at winning the game (and become bored with it), then maybe try them out. Have fun !
it makes a lot of sense that wood and kinda components are worth nothing, wood bcuz it can be obtained everywhere basically like in real life and components bcuz it could also be made out of anything like diy MacGyver style compared to the parts which is more like specialized parts u cant just make easily, water tho, especially CLEAN water SHOULD have a trading value in the game especially if u initially began w FILTHY water and there was always a chance u would ger sick by it drinking it but there is atleast one special script that deals w that issue so maybe it would have been to much , i dunno , it sure is a cool houserule to consider also, like u f.ex ONLY get clean water if u find it through the SCRIPTS but otherwise its ALWAYS DIRTY UNLESS u get water through the rainwater collector (which filters it IF u have a filter in the house !!😊😊
What happens if I place an advanced fitting next to its relevant regular fitting and later on I uproot the regular fitting. Does the advanced one go away?
I searched for this but couldn’t find an answer. But I would rule that it goes away, as in essence, the Regular Fitting is like the « foundation » on which some advancements were made… so… to me, the two cards are inextricably linked.
I don't have the rules with me... I think it's stated in the FAQ. But trust me, 100%: if a Character is asleep, they DO NOT resolve their Spirit effect. It's going to help you a lot! :)

As for the rules, that's exactly it - Script 150: A Character cannot do anything else besides: - Sleeping in a Bed / Sleeping On The Floor during the Evening phase, - Take a Nap action (on the Bed card) during the Day Actions phase (despite 3 black dots on the State token), - Eating and drinking, - Receiving Meds / Herbal Meds / Bandages. When resolving the Fate cards during the Dawn phase, do not resolve the Spirit of this Character. It's the last phrase there. That's the *rule* :)

Yeah… clean water should be worth something. I think it’s easily to implement if you want to.
5. Not correct. The designer of the game stated on bgg you don t draw an event after you draw chapter 1 card. You rezolve it as day one.
