Yeah you’re right
Lessgooo
I may I may not
You’re right boss
ARE YOU CHALLENGING ME?
There’s a very good reason Linda Blair was so firm about her boundaries. She had actually fractured her spine during a scene that could easily have used a stunt double. During the scene where Regan was being thrashed up and down on her bed, that is actually Linda Blair attached to a harness that shook her so violently that she fractured her spine, resulting in scoliosis. As you can imagine, she’s been pretty stern about her boundaries ever since and it’s why she’s rarely seen on film anymore. She mostly works as an activist nowadays, predominantly working with animals, children in need, and HIV/AIDS awareness.
She was in "Supernatural". Just throwing that one out there.
That's crazy! I've heard some real supernatural shenanigans happened on the set of the original movie.
@@blacksunshine7122 I mean, I would argue that the most traumatic things happening on set were the result only of the lack of care the director had for everyone working in the film. The mechanism that injured Linda was moved that violently because the director cared only about getting a good shot. He did a lot of things like that with the other actors too, slapping people or just shooting a gun out of nowhere to get people startled by the sound and get the shot he wanted. Linda wasn't the only injured btw. And she even didn't want to do some shots, but the director kept being persuasive and manipulative until she agreed.
Ok Google
She was on S club 7's American TV show.
You described the entire film, beat for beat and I still have no idea what was happening in this film.
I would thumbs up your comment, but you're currently at 69 likes. 😅
It doesn't matter what's happening, this movie is pure garbage lol

Fun Fact: The original writer, William Goodheart, hated the movie and claimed it was rewritten 5 or 6 times without his knowledge or approval, Linda Blair has backed this up as she only agreed to return because she liked his original script. Director John Boorman and his friend Rospo Pallenberg rewrote the script and they were notorious for being high as fuck at the time (look at Zardoz and look up their unmade Lord of the Rings adaptation, boy is that a trip!), Boorman also hated the first Exorcist and thought it was simply a movie about torturing a child, so that explains a lot about what went wrong with this movie, as they remove most of the religious aspects and replace them with weird metaphysical nonsense. Also Martin Scorsese has defended this movie and called it brilliant and unfairly hated.
I love Marty, but he's out of his fucking mind. This movie has cocaine written all over it, which is maybe why he identified with it in the late '70s. This is one of the worst sequels ever released by a major studio.
Good God, it's like he never even saw the original movie.
Holy crap, speaking of Little Fockers.. It was playing on tv in the hospital room when I was passed out right after my epidural. When I woke up it was time to have my baby, and I was begging them to turn off the tv; REALLY didn’t want to see Deniro double bricked up during the birth if my child. But that’s the image that burnt into my mind when I think of my oldest’ s birth.

Takeaway: Linda Blair has a spine of steel and took no shit.
I wonder if that's what killed her career.
@@_Ciaran_Maher this only made her worse actress for production, Chained Heat destroyed her career
Ever see Born Innocent? Dang how did she fall into these roles.
She had big breasts at an early age (like me) and the Hollywood predators looked at her as their next young sexual exploit.
Read in another comment that a stunt on the original exorcist hurt her spine and gave her scoliosis. So....yes and no?
Scary fact about the balcony sleep walking scene: that was actually Linda, and that wasn't a set. They made her stand on that balcony with no way to catch her if she fell.

I wouldn't got that far. It's just a guy with an email account and microphone. The movie is trash though don't get me wrong, I just can't give someone who didn't earn the respect the same amount respect as people who work much harder and have sacrificed much more even. I hate movies and see them as nothing Western brainwashing but the people who create them are exceptionally talented compared to a UA-camr and go through a significant amount more effort expressing their visions and ideas than someone who learnt how to complain from spending too much time in a Call of Duty public lobby.

The rooftop scene was done practically without a net so they forced the actress to stand over a death drop and lean forward. They just trusted her balance
And Linda Blair fractured her spine in the first movie. So there is a general disregard for safety and health

But when I watched the sequel when I was a kid, I watched it without my parents knowing, while being sick with high fever and that movie messed me up so bad.
I didn't understand a single plot point of what I was watching but the whole surreal vibe mixed with my fever left me with 2 weeks of constant nightmares at night.
thats interesting i remember a similar thing, watching it on tv on a really hot day and feeling so tired i couldnt sleep and all the other channels were fuzzy.
That opening scene is so much worse than you thought. Rewatch it and marvel at the mind-boggling special effect that consisted of taking a life-size cardboard cutout of the actress playing the possessed lady and setting it on fire. Yes, they really did that.

What he means when he says he's not a film critic is that he has no formal education or study in filmmaking or criticism. I suffered through this when it came out. I was the film reviewer for my college newspaper, so I attended a press screening for it.
I am impressed that you saw the original theatrical conclusion. Later, it was reissued with the ending being cut out; it literally ends with Regan using the lasso against the locusts. It just stops.
But having seen the original, I still recall some of my descriptions of the sequence for my review, that while the sister was immolating herself, the doctor is running around calling for help with the same intensity one would call a puppy to come indoors.
I also pointed out (my having been to the original location), that as Linda Blair and Richard Burton all but walk off into the sunset (although technically I'm sure it was the sunrise), a few steps further, they would fall off a 100 foot wall or so, as they are still on the side of the steps leading down to the gas station parking lot below...

I must say, the AD portion of the video had me rolling. I hope GGSupps wasn't too mad at it lmao
Watch Exorcist 3 its a fantastic movie. Blatty directed and wrote the movie. its really strange and scary without ever showing any sort of gore or violence (until the end). it captures that methodical and procedural feeling of the original without ever really trying to copy the plot. The movie holds up on its own, but is also just a great follow-up to the first. it also has some excellent monologues from Brad Dourif and George C Scott. One thing I don't like, Ironically, is the actual Exorcism at the end, which was added in a bunch of reshoots after the studio saw the original cut and forced Blatty to add one in. its just a bit over the top (this scene is where all the gore and violence is) for what is a very reserved movie
It got completely lambasted by both movie goers and critics when it came out because it was so heavily compared to the first Exorcist. Many were disappointed that it wasn't like the first at all. in fact, Blatty fought with the studio over naming it Exorcist 3, because he wanted it to be a stand-alone, original movie like his book _Legion_ that the movie is based on. It has grown quite a large Cult following since its original release though. They also unfairly gave George Scott a razzie nomination for his performance despite giving a pretty great performance.

Let gamer supps know I watched the whole ad, bc gd was entertaining as hell 🤣
I remember watching this movie when I was in my teens: soon after I watched The Exorcist (which terrified the hell out of me). I remember it not making any sense, but nowadays I chalked it up to being too young to understand it. So I gave it another chance recently, and...nope, it's still a piece of crap. My biggest question was, why was Sharon even a part of the sequel? Her reasoning doesn't make sense. Then her being possessed or obsessed or whatever at the end made even less sense. The ending with Regan and Lamont leaving together was ridiculous. Chris was still alive just elsewhere temporarily, so why did Regan leave with this priest? Starting to think the original idea for the Exorcist 2 with Regan having possessed twins would have been slightly better than this. lol. Great Review, btw. Love your channel.

I have to say The Exorcist 3 and Legion are a perfect example of great book and great movie. It's rare for a movie to be as good as the book it's based on. At least in my opinion

Thank you for playing dude telling the story of the first public reaction to this movie - I love the way you talk, GG, but that story was amazing. XD Also, I have to give you ALL the respect for giving your genuine opinions on the product you were paid to promote, specifically that you don't like their latest flavor, it made the ad read feel legit and probably got more people to buy it. Not me, I don't do energy boosters, but still, major props for sticking to your guns, my dude. :)
This movie absolutely destroyed the legacy of what the first movie should of had
