    Everyone saying things like "gay or not, hes beautiful", "even tho he's gay, I/he still ____", that's not okay, though you may think it is. When you say something like that, it's like you're saying, "despite this one bad thing, he is still great," but being gay isnt a bad thing. It's not something that needs to be excused or forgiven, he just is. Plain and simple. Just say he's handsome, say you like him, say he's your hero, it doesnt matter. "Gay or not" doesn't need to be at the start of every one of your compliments or remarks. He is who he is: a human. Dont treat him any differently.

      Not trying to be offensive or come off rude here. I think some people say those things not meaning that being gay is a bad thing but stating that they know he's gay. I still agree that it is pointless saying even tho he's gay blah blah blah. And I'm most likely wrong trust me ik haha just my opinion.

      @strwbrrysanhwa3060 4 роки тому +12

      @@kayleyclarkk yeah, I thought of that too. But even that doesnt justify an unnecessary precursor to a compliment, since it doesnt matter if someone is gay or not when you compliment them or say something about them. Thank you for phrasing that kindly :))

    Wentworth Miller is so much more than I ever thought. He's not just another pretty face. To look at him, you would conclude his life was charmed, he never had a worry in the world, that everything was handed to him on a platter and that he has never had a single solitary bad moment or thought. We all have a story and I am happy Wentworth opened up and can tell his story without shame or fear of discovery, sorrow and guilt and fear of what others think. The thing we don't realize in fearing other people's opinions about us is that they have their own story.

      When I went to Adam Lambert's concert in my country, religious people protested outside the arena with pictures of him kissing another guy, they threw his pictures on the ground and then stepped on his face. I went home that night and cried for him... Even now as frontman of Queen, countries are still trying to put a ban on him. It's all ignorance, blind hate and bully's attitude. When asked about actions as such in interviews, his replies were never harsh, he's always classy. He desensitised, educated and changed people's perceptions about homosexuality, fans learned to accept and embrace him.
      I have been a fan of Wentworth's since Dinotopia. When I heard his speech here, I cried for him.... I commend his honesty and courage to put himself up there and out there to educate and be the pillar of strength for all who feel that they are different and alone. He smashes all stereotypes many have on gay people. He showed us that there are amazing talents, intelligence, gracefulness and class, cool people, love and diversity among those who are gay. What I find ironic sometimes is religions teach us to ostracize and hate gay people, but gay people teach us to love instead. Ultimately, we are all human beings, we cry the same tears, straight or gay, no difference.

    Impressive, i takes courage to get naked so openly. And the best part, not a single time does he try to depict himself as a victim or as a hero.
    He's got class and his class doesn't come from his flawless DNA but from his obvious intelligence .
    And what humility .
    Beautiful speech

    Often people only stop at the appearence, at the stereotypes, at the fame, at the gossip, and never want to go deeper inside someone. Wentworth is more than an actor, is more than a extremely talented man, is more than a super hot guy, he's a real man. I'm a boy, I'm not sure of who I am, but I would really like to meet this person, he's an inspiration, he can give strenght to people who do not believe in anything no more. All my respect to this man, to this superhero. Love you Wen

    Words cannot begin to define or express the overall brilliance that is Wentworth Miller. This man is a hero not only to the LGBTQ community, but to all who have suffered from depression and battling their inner demons. He is beautiful inside and out, and I am so glad to see him playing such a prominent role in Hollywood; breaking down barriers and forever being such a brace individual and being the hero that we all need. This speech gave me chills, made me tear up and made my heart soar. Kudos to Wentworth for being such an amazing human being.

    When I first heard that Mr. Miller was a gay man, I was a bit sad. Only because I had watched prison break and loved his charachter. I don't know him personally. I had no right to be sad. That passed quickly as I realized that this was his reality. I am very proud of and happy for Mr. Miller to finally be free from the oppression and fear. For becoming a part of something much larger than himself. I pray he has found peace, love, and acceptance. Something every person deserves and is entitled to. I identified with some of what he said. Not because I am gay, because I am human and grew up in a nightmare. Always being and feeling alone. Humans are the cruelest of all life forms on this planet. Good luck to Mr. Miller. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

    I feel like this speech is one of the most amazing ones of all times, I appreciate it to no end and I think that it needs to be heard. Our society needs to change further. I believe that someone's sexual orientation is NO ONES business. It is your own. The principle of coming out is not rational to me. Why does someone, who lives in the public eye, or any human for that matter, have to "justify" or "state" their orientation and lovelife? It is your life and you get to live it. It is your OWN. Yours. Same as your feelings. You are entitled to feel, you are entitled to your emotions. This should not be taken from you. But you also do not have to state your feelings openly if you do not want to.Sexual orientation, feelings and emotions are personal. They matter, but they do not have to be broadcasted for everyone to see. These things are private and I hope that listening to Wentworth Miller's speech will push humanity an important step further towards a (for lack of better words) new, necessary understanding of what it means to be human and of what it means to be kind.

    This speech will never not be important. I discovered it when i was 14/15 myself - im 21 now and every single word is so damn important. Firstly, cause it showed my 14 yr old self that i was not alone in my suffering, that there are people feeling the same way and coping in the same way, and secondly, cause it helped me see that nothing is more important than to help others, to be the help i myself so desperately needed when i was younger. I knew this speech by heart and repeated it like a mantra as part of my own "survival mode". I love this man and i am glad that i discovered his speech just to the right time.
