You should park at the top of the mesa at Torrey Pines Golf course or the surrounding streets. The parking is free and you avoid the climb up.
We haven't tried that before, but we will next time! Thanks for the tip!
Great video about hiking at Torrey Pines State Beach/Reserve. We enjoyed these hikes during our 43 years in San Diego. Keep up the good work. Thank you!
Thank you so much Jennifer! Hopefully we could bring back some fond memories of your time there 😎🤙
Blacks trail at gliderport is phenomenal!! Been hiking that since 2008!
Thank you so much for this informative video
My fam and I are looking to visit my cousin in San Diego and would like to check out some nearby national parks and this came up.
Hey Cliff! We hope you have a great trip! This is definitely a nice spot to spend a day, get some exercise and enjoy the beach! Glad we could help! 😎🤙
interesting. I saw no runners during your hike
They are always out there. Must have just not caught any on video 😎
How much the parking cost, great video btw
Glad you enjoyed the video! There is either free street parking, or you can park inside the reserve for $12-$25 per vehicle.
Sorry for a weird question, but is there any bathroom in the hiking trail?
No worries! I believe there are some at the lower parking lot and port o potties up at the top. There might be some at the visitors center as well
Can you bring dogs on the loop
Hi, dogs are not allowed anywhere within the reserve and beach boundaries to protect the wildlife there.
I went to this beach every Sunday for 25 years. This video confused the hell out of me with this trail and that trail, this and that parking lot, loops, this many miles. I've taken everyone from toddlers to seniors there and somehow, we managed to get there and back without incident. The things that I think people need to know most are: there are no public bathrooms, there isn't anywhere to buy food or water (lifeguards driving by will harass you for public drinking and glass bottles), there's no trash bins, and Black's Beach isn't only "clothing optional", it's more like EVERYONE is naked, in a way unlike anywhere else. If you are up tight, don't go. This isn't your usual public beach like in Orange County. If you think you are going to throw on a bikini and lounge around to be seen, have a drinking party, you're in the wrong place. This is more like athletic camping.
We're glad you've been enjoying Torrey Pines beaches for 25 years. However, this video is mainly about the Torrey Pines State Reserve as a whole, which includes all the hiking trails that it has to offer in addition to the beach. Also, Black Beach is not part of the reserve. It is a ways down the coastline.
Can I bring my dog
@@LiveThatAdventure why is it that san diego is do against dogs on trails
@@runnin_myles8098 I'm not sure. Here it is probably to not scare all the wildlife in the reserve or something like that.
is Black's Beach still a nude beach?
@@LiveThatAdventure I was curious, due to the fact I haven't lived there since the mid 70's. I swam at the State Beach all the time. It was know for being one back then. Torrey Pines, Carlsbad and Oceanside were my hang out locations. It is sad to see it's all been over taken by development though!
@@Charles53412 yes it is. Luckily Torrey pines is a reserve, so it doesn't seem like there will be any development on that portion of the beach which is good! 😎🤙
You seem to be stalking a young lady most of the day? Ha
@@user-so3xj7yq9j I ended up talking her into coming home with me too! 🤣
I've been hiking at Torrey Pines for more than 40 years and love every trail. They're all great!
We totally agree! We have a great time every time we go there. :)
