I was the kid that choir teachers told to move my lips and not make a sound. In University I signed up for a Beginner Singing class one summer. When the Professor asked me what I sang, I said I didn't know. She plunked keys and had me sing them back. After 10 minutes she asked if it was too late to get my money back. It was. She profusedly apologized at the second lesson, and tried to help me, but the damage was done. It didn't bother me since I wasn't a musician. At 65 yoa I started playing the piano. And I used to laugh at people that said I had to sing. I'll never be an accomplished singer, but I'm putting this into practice. Merci.
I think you can sing, and if you play other instruments, it will likely come to you since you will be dealing with intervals and the concepts Jason is talking about here. There is a pitch checker app if you want to learn more about how to match pitch. I’m 60 and am taking online voice lessons, so it’s never too late. Keep playing piano and sing if you want to!
@@BlessYourHeart254 I use the App to make sure I'm close and then I turn it off to practice. You're right that it's getting easier. I'm even singing when I'm walking in town, but when there isn't anyone too near me.
