I still love that you managed to figure out the harmonica tune by ear. The solution for non-musically inclined people like myself is to tape those paper strips on the organ tubes (like the fan in Elliot’s workshop) and actually see the air blow from each note. But you’re awesome so you didn’t need that. Lol
I would be unbelievably happy if you did them all in order, which I would definitely recommend, lots of franchise lore. You would definitely be able to beat most of the early ones in 1-2 streams I think.
I’m very impressed you did the harmonica puzzle by ear. That one takes me forever, and technically there’s a second half to it for the less musically inclined players.
Miles the Magnificent Memory Machine used to scare me so bad as a kid I'd hide in my room and make my mom play the game in the computer room until he stopped talking and come get me
@@Blakbox92 i think that because this was an earlier game there just wasn't as much content. for example warnings at waverly had a whole bunch of stuff so it took longer. i do really want more nance tho
I played this game when I was younger and the rollercoaster scene scared the heck out of me and i had to have my mom do it for me. Also, I never was fast enough lol.
You should play Message in a Haunted Mansion or Secret of the Old Clock next. Secret of the Old Clock will probably be a bit harder since there's a lot of driving around you have to do, but Message in a Haunted Mansion always scared me as a kid but I loved playing it so much!
I just love Harlan. He's so... so.... eeh. Glad he wasn't the criminal. And I agree that the shorthand was satisfying. I didn't play the game, but I was trying to figure it out while you were playing, and actually managed it on my own.
I love watching the Nancy Drew games, either on stream or on VOD. May I suggest the game 'And Then There Were None' based on the Agatha Christie book? It has a similar feeling to the Nancy Drew games.
I am super glad that you choose Junior detective because even if you played it before there are some that haven't and by jumping to Senior detective it shuts the door on beginner players. I am not a beginner player, but I still need the options of a checklist or characters to call for help. The hard copies of the games say for players 8 years old and up. Can you imagine an eight-year-old playing that game all the way through.
I just realized that useless fan with the pieces of paper attached to it is actually a clue to a future puzzle! I've played this games multiple times and that's never clicked
(spoilers) So how is what the forger guy was doing worse than what the engineer was doing? One made counterfeit horses, the other counterfeit rollercoasters. The rollercoaster sounds more dangerous, frankly, since if you do it poorly people might get hurt. (canonicaly speaking the procrastinator never hurt anyone either, unlike Joy who sabotaged the rollercoaster! Then we have the security guard who way oversteps his bounds by spying on people and getting passcodes he has no business having. It's like the forger guy is the least evil of the bunch) Essentially the forger didn't commit any real crime yet, right? Or did he sell some forgeries already? From what I saw, he started making them with the intent of selling. Or was the idea that he stole the horses from the carousel and replaced them with forgeries?
I highly recommend Danger on Deception Island, Secret of the Shadow Ranch, Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, Haunting of Castle Malloy, Shadow at the Water's Edge, Ghost of Thornton Hall and Sea of Darkness.
Don't feel bad, I saw the clown too until chat said it was a dog. Also, did you delete the Alibi in Ashes vod? Because I never get to a stream but I've seen the vod before
That one was apparently never a VOD, or if it was a VOD, it was only available on Twitch for the usual limited time that Twitch saves VODs for. It's never been posted to moose2, and Ian doesn't have a recording of it.
I was scared for you working the lathe!!! Aces you did it, great job!!!! Yes, at one point I did buy the Hardy Boys game for my grandson, it in my opinion was horrible. very early in the game we got our character stuck in a corner couldn't get em out. The game was set up with little circle bubbles of the characters up in the left-hand corner. I know it was miserable enough that we never looked for other games beginning with Hardy Boys.
Treasure in the Tower is great, and, on my favorites, list as is Danger on Deception Island. Last Train yes, Kapu Cave yes, Ghost Dogs yes, Crystal Skull yes, Tomb of lost Queen yes, Secret of Old Clock yes, Secret of Shadow Ranch yes, Seven Ships yes, Castle Malloy yes, ...
Malloy is a really cool game. Please do it!!!!!!!! Also, of the newer games, Tomb of the Lost Queen, set in Egypt, is really fun! Deadly Device is cool and Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon. Secret of the Scarlet Hand is one of my faves.
If you ever get the chance to play CSI or CSI Miami, they were great. I played them on windows XP and totally loved them. Another truly awesome yet scary game DARK FALL the Journal. I was on the edge of my seat pretty much through the whole game.
The Deadly Device was my favorite because I was fascinated by Nikola Tesla, so I was anxious to see how it was going to fit in puzzles. It was worth it!!! Silent Spy drove me crazy. Captive Curse fantasy crazy, The Medallion was fun, at least until the end. Labyrinth of lies, Scarlet Hand another favorite. The Final Scene another favorite. Not a favorite White wolf, Stay tuned for Danger, Silent Spy. Didn't bother with Midnight in Salem. Tomb of the Lost Queen was good. Trail of the Twister was good. Ghost of Thorton Hall good, Shadow at Waters Edge, good. Sea of Darkness, Hard. Warnings at Waverly, good but the very last part of the game wouldn't play for me. Secrets can kill was maybe the second game my daughter and I played so it was not the remastered.
Look up "Gregg Shorthand Manual Simplified (John Robert Gregg, Louis A. Leslie etc.)" if you want to learn stenography as used here. There's a few different forms, and also simple to advanced versions.
I remember playing this game when I was younger, I got all the way to the shark rollercoaster puzzle, then stopped playing bc I couldn't solve the puzzle in time and was scared by the cutscene lmaooooo. Even knowing it was coming on retrying I was still too scared since I was now anticipating it and extra stressed out
What… that was a dog on the checks? I thought it was a crappy clown for real! Like it was meant to be like a lil spook cause the game is dark… idk I just accepted that it was a clown and didn’t question it too much lol
You are just very classy!! Thank you for doing the recaps. Very glad that you ask people not to give you answers or hints unless you actually ask for them. You are classy and fun!!! I just watched you go through Curse of Black moor, and I sat through the whole thing as you went through it worried at any moment you would give up, but you didn't.
how the fuck did he beat that puzzle by ear without doing the thing where you're supposed to tape tissue paper to the pipes and write down the notes what the FUCK

You should do a video on the survival mode in the coin game I’ve seen others do videos on it already but I want to see your thoughts on it!
The unintentional, sometimes inappropriate but hilariously timed golf claps are my favourite thing about your streaming setup these days 😂⛳
that sound FX happens when someone subscribes. id say its intentional lol
That and Harold occasionally agreeing at EXACTLY the right time
I would be unbelievably happy if you did them all in order, which I would definitely recommend, lots of franchise lore. You would definitely be able to beat most of the early ones in 1-2 streams I think.
SERIOUSLY PLEASEEE
I’m very impressed you did the harmonica puzzle by ear. That one takes me forever, and technically there’s a second half to it for the less musically inclined players.
The iron game over is a strong contender for my favorite in the series. A lot of the early games had really dumb ways to lose and I love it.
Well, other than being a solid Nancy Drew game, this was a really heartwarming stream. Chats' always so cool and chill.
Miles the Magnificent Memory Machine used to scare me so bad as a kid I'd hide in my room and make my mom play the game in the computer room until he stopped talking and come get me
Both Ian and Gab Smolders are falling down the Nancy Drew rabbit hole right now and I'm LOVING IT.
Would love a playthrough of the entire series. It's fun observing the evolution of the franchise.
can we do a spooky nancy halloween stream? these are so cozy and i think it would be a perfect thing to watch while eating some candy!
Make that shadow at the waters edge or ghost of Thornton hall
I hope Ian isn't Nanced out yet, this playthrough felt pretty short, would love to see more.
@@Blakbox92 i think that because this was an earlier game there just wasn't as much content. for example warnings at waverly had a whole bunch of stuff so it took longer. i do really want more nance tho
theres something so horrible and hilarious about that dumb robot voice going on about joy's dead mom lol
Good news everyone, Tyler saw his shoutout from the first part of this haha. He was very happy. :)
I played this game when I was younger and the rollercoaster scene scared the heck out of me and i had to have my mom do it for me. Also, I never was fast enough lol.
Same!!! I actually just stopped playing completely due to that scene, and it was the only Nancy game I've ever played
You should play Message in a Haunted Mansion or Secret of the Old Clock next. Secret of the Old Clock will probably be a bit harder since there's a lot of driving around you have to do, but Message in a Haunted Mansion always scared me as a kid but I loved playing it so much!
Haunted mansion, I have a vivid memory of making my mom help me finish the game because I was too scared but had to know what happened!
Was that the one with a bomb?
The artist's reaction to the riddle cemented him as my favorite
Ian wearing that silly detective hat and pipe immediately gave me inspiration to draw. Expect some Brutal Nance Pants art just saying
I feel like this is the quickest nance playthrough! I enjoyed it though!
I like the new... "pirate television early-internet"? aesthetic the streams have, I'll miss the vintage ads, but this really fits
Dude I thought Ian passed out when he tried to get mj 🤣
I just love Harlan. He's so... so.... eeh.
Glad he wasn't the criminal.
And I agree that the shorthand was satisfying. I didn't play the game, but I was trying to figure it out while you were playing, and actually managed it on my own.
I am very sure everyone playing this have burned the hotel.

Always love to see the Nancy streams!
I'm excited to see you play Secret of Shadow Ranch. That was one of my favorites growing up

Right. Joy could have killed somebody
now this... is entertainment
i have such fond memories of this game, watching you play it was a real treat! would love to see more nance in the future :D
2:20:31 that joke made me laugh way harder than it should have. nice one hahaa
I cannot believe you haven't played treasure in the royal tower yet. best one hands down geez louise
I highly recommend Danger on Deception Island, Secret of the Shadow Ranch, Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon, Haunting of Castle Malloy, Shadow at the Water's Edge, Ghost of Thornton Hall and Sea of Darkness.
I want him to play the white wolf one 😂
And the Japanese ghost one they were talking about, that one actually looks really cool.
Stay Tuned for Danger is almost impossable to find physically.
you should try doing Shadow at the Water's Edge its supposed to be scary but its really good
