When they found out, they called the police on me. That night, I left and didn't come back for a year. This girl said she was 17 and turning 18 in 3 months. years later, when we met back up, come to find out she was only 15 at the time. which meant I was 5 years older than her and could have had a statutory rape charge all because of her lying. Not to mention that I was at this girl house many times with her mother being around and everything while I drove dirt bikes and cars down there, the mother never questioned my age in regards to her daughter. which further had me believe she was telling the truth about her age.

I've seen this happen with young men & women. I mentor young adults 18-21. I told them you need to start asking for ID before getting involved. I had a young man who was 19 he was dating a young lady who we all thought was 20. She turned out to only be 15. For her to be 15, she carried herself as if she was 20 yrs old & she even looked the part. Thank goodness he had proof that she lied about her age via text messages. That's what saved him from being labeled. It happens more often than people think..The parents of those minor need to let their children know that what they think is a little lie can ruin someone's life.

I used to lie about my age all the time and trust nobody knew any different. The way I was raised my mentality was not that of a child and could hold adult conversations. So saying she knew is a call you don't know and the parents should've known that their child was not as innocent as they tried to portray.

I've seen this happen with young men & women. I mentor young adults 18-21. I told them you need to start asking for ID before getting involved. I had a young man who was 19 he was dating a young lady who we all thought was 20. She turned out to only be 15. For her to be 15, she carried herself as if she was 20 yrs old & she even looked the part. Thank goodness he had proof that she lied about her age via text messages. That's what saved him from being labeled. It happens more often than people think..The parents of those minor need to let their children know that what they think is a little lie can ruin someone's life.
