Highly influenced by fantasy movie-score music and Tolkien-type and other fantasy lyrical themes, the music can be described as ethereal and symphonic - unfolding epic and elegant storyscapes in the mind.

Thanks, Martijn, for giving a voice to my heart once again. Coincidentally or not, next week will be 15 years of the loss of my beloved father and, even though so much time has passed, I still miss him every day. And this song provided me with the comfort I needed, to know that he's fine.

This coming December will be 15 years since I (suddenly) lost my father. He was my best friend and first super hero I looked up to. Listening to this song, made me feel like I was a little boy, reliving the first time I looked through a telescope with him by my side. Music is truly a magical experience. Peace and light, friend.

This is stunning. Lyrically, this one really hits different as well. It’s definitely a departure from the previous songs, but retains the very essence of what makes Eye Of Melian so special to me personally. At this point I’m running out of superlatives to describe how much I adore your music, so I’ll just end by saying thank you. It’s hard to put into words just what an impact your music has had on me, and how it’s helped through what has been a pretty depressing chapter of my life.

I waited for this new song of Eye of Melian like moon to rise... And what a song it is 🥰! I have been worried, sad and anguished like so many other in these dark times... So, I went to lie on the couch, put my headphones on and started to listen.. As soon as the music started I felt peace and serenity fill my mind. It was amazing!! The beauty and harmony of this song is pure gold 🥰. Johanna's and Martijn's voices fit together so well. Music is absolutely fantastic and lyrics... so topical 🕒 and consoling. @Jo G. I totally respect that, and perhaps I'm reading my own background into the lyrics, but much of the phraseology and imagery feels very similar to things written in the New Testament.
@@timparsons3565 To be honest, if Eye of Melian would turn out to release 'Christian' music, for me that would be reason to stop my support to this immediately! I am writing this as a baptized Catholic who has questioned the hypocrisy of Christians of all denominations and people of other religious faiths since a young age. I honestly prefer to interpret and enjoy this in a meta-spiritual context. But each as one pleases, as long as we can all stay tolerant.
@@jo_g.germany Yeah, they do the fantasy genre really well, so I don't look for or expect Christian themes from them. However, it's fascinating to see how many Christian themes pop up in the fantasy genre (from Narnia to Hogwarts and so much in between), so it doesn't surprise me that there's some crossover in music inspired by fantasy literature.
@@timparsons3565 Well, more than a 1.000 years of Christianity have left their marks on European culture. In my view, thankfully even that much influence hasn't managed to totally eradicate the stories and beliefs that predate it's arrival. Because if it had, our culture would be so much poorer!
