“It’s not what you say but it’s what you do that reveals your heart...” - Gore lost by only 500+ votes but yet he honored his country by conceding & accepting the election results - now, that’s a true American Patriot
It must have been a very hard pill to swallow, I wish he would have been president.
James Martin If al gore tried to fight as hard as trump over the election results he would have very likely won. But instead of going all out and doing whatever was within his capacity to fight the election results, he realised the profound consequences his actions could have on the country and he had the wisdom to know that it could potentially cause a lot of division with the country and it would not be worth the risk to continue to fight. Moreover al gore was fighting over the criteria on how ballots should be considered defective and not included in the vote count, trump was fighting over election fraud is probably the president who has tried to sow the most doubt over the presidential election’s integrity to the greatest extent in the history of America.
Trump lost by 7 million and could not concede.
@@elevatorfilmersg the supreme Court ruled on it and it was final. Nothing to do.
@@elevatorfilmersg how would he have won? The electoral college has always decided who's the next president, winning or losing by 500, 5000, 50.000 votes doesn't matter when u are elected/selected by the electoral college.Just to signify how useless civil voting is, Trump lost the popular vote last election yet he became president thriugh the electoral college. There's not even a reason for Trump to object not having enough votes, he could've won by 80% it wouldn't have mattered since those 304 electoral votes would've probably still gone to Biden.
See how a real President of the Senate handles himself.!
Notice how the GOP act, then I watch them give standing ovation 30 secs ago. GOP are nothing but hypocrites and liars. GOP should be ashamed and disgusted.
The problem is... this was a sign of what was to come with Republicans skirting the law to remove and disenfranchise minority voters.. and none of the senators took it seriously.
@Peace and Love I agree with the sentiment regarding VP Pence, but we have to remain conscious of the fact that he was merely doing his job as mandated by the constitution. I'm not saying he didn't display some courage in "defying" Trump... but he shouldn't be getting a "participation medal" for fulfilling his duties as mandated by the constitution.
pence did the same
@@ToasterStud so should the dems lol. Welcome to politics
And everyone hated Florida since then
I think everyone has always hated Florida.
Yeah Florida SUCKS, nowonder they voted for trump TWICE.
I live in florida and still hate it!
Ya and thats why they will, in future go blue soo...
@Daniel Ironic since Florida is sinking (literally the Ocean around them is rising), and Arizona went blue, and Texas was closer than 41 other states this time around
they tryna give him the presidency and he has to say no lmao
That's what we call based
They can't give him presidency lol
@@LordValorumThat is what we call being an “eLeCtIoN dEnIeR”, which Democrats have told me is the worst thing you can be.
@@SomePerson-d3z Bro denied the results that would have made himself President
They wouldn't have given him the presidency. If Florida's votes had been removed, neither Bush nor Gore would have had enough votes to win the election and it would have been tossed to the house. In that instance, each state delegation is given 1 vote and a winner must receive the votes of 26 states to be elected. Republicans controlled more state delegations at the time, IIRC, so Bush would have been elected by the House. Interestingly, the Senate was 50-50, and each senator gets 1 vote for vice president, and because the VP breaks all ties in the senate, Gore could have voted for Lieberman and given us a Bush-Lieberman administration (though Gore would almost certainly have voted for Cheney given Bush was going to win the House, putting him in yet another awkward spot.)
Gore and Pence did their jobs properly.
So did Nixon in 1961 and Hubert Humphrey in 1969 (both sitting VP's who lost the Presidential race). In 1960, Kennedy won the popular vote by 110,000 votes & Nixon actually won CA.
Gore is a special, unusual man of a pioneering character, he hates crowds, likes to be alone, a nature lover, and I personally think he is too good to be President. Incredibly handsome in his day as well.
Everyone is gonna feel real stupid when Manbearpig shows up and nobody knows how to stop him
Donald Trump is manbearpig in disguise. COMFIRMED!
Give up Red Dead Redemption 2.
🤣🤣🤣 you need to get cereal
A real class act! What an awkward position to be in. Why did the forefathers give this to the VP?
because the VP is the president of the senate and the president of the senate presides the joined sessions of congress
I think they expected “public servants” to love the country more than themselves. Got that wrong eh?
@@Sunshine4 They had it right for well over 200 years and 44 presidents
Well initially when the country was formed the VP and President were voted on seperately so it was possible to have a VP that is a different party than the president.
I think it was because they expected that people elected to office were decent, intelligent people.
That was so dignified. While I would have hoped he'd won all those years ago, I congratulate his integrity. He handled it really well.
He did win. Bush stole that election through SCOTUS
@@mycro2767 True, I meant if he'd been allowed to be president.
I can't help but wonder how he would have handled 9 11. Doubtless better than Bush did, but I wonder what he would have done.
While I myself admire the spirit of those who rose for objections, without signature of senator & representative, I also quite admire vp Gore's formality, _authoritativeness_ , and literal ability to casually follow the laws and rules before him, to moreover certify the election that he himself lost back in 2000.
Quite the level different in present times, yet still admirable from this time; then. :)
This is what class, strength, humility, intelligence, and grace look like. Something the republicans haven’t had in decades.
i agree but u have to remember how dems opposed 2000, 2004 and 2016 with objections.
@@aryananand9551 Dems never stormed the Capitol
@@jakethefinn2353 that’s true but I’m just tryna say dems have had some dark moments too.
@@aryananand9551 that's not the point at all. It's not how the representatives act, it's how the administration reacts.
What Al Gore did took strength of character and it will be a while before things will turn back it was it 2000 and there can be completely respectable leaders again.
@KingInTheNorth instead, dems incited and is inciting nation-wide riots lol

imagine having actual rights to become the most powerful person in the world, and then rejecting every single demand from your friends so that you would lose to your opponent willingly..that takes guts. America was great back then.
It really is true what they say, if you want to see someone's true character, give them power.
Al Gore, the best president America never had.
It’s not like the Presiding Officer (i.e. Gore in 2001; Pence in 2021) has any power to change the electoral votes. Gore’s “friends” from the House were being obnoxious.
@@mfgJoseph exactly. Gore and Pence did the right thing and the VP has a ceremonial role in these matters and cannot change anything.
I would be honored to vote for Al Gore if he decided to run again!
Me too
Maxine was as bold then as she is now.
She didn’t care about the rules, shame on her
Gore shows how okay it is to lose, so long as the law is followed and the sacrament of democracy is honored.
I'm glad this video is here, it prepares me for what is to come. However, what is to come will be much worse than this. This was civil objections.
one word: INTEGRITY.
Uploaded on the same day as the Capitol attack. I love how Gore brings levity to the Senate.
It was a protest. Fed provocateurs invaded.
He's 43 to me
He’s the (un)official 43 in the eyes of millions 🤩
Does anyone know where I can find full coverage of this?
You just know you would NEVER see trump do this
Rep Maxine Waters is a boss.
She's a failure, representing a failed state, in possibly its most failed district, because of how much she fails to deliver for her people.
Al Gore was the very last candidate to lose with honour, he didn’t have any bad feelings and he didn’t try and overturn the election.
he would have made a great president though, and he would have been the greatest president since JFK, FDR, Lincoln and Washington.
He has admitted the only reason he didn't challenge the count was the numbers favored the Republicans.
Kerry? McCain? Romney?
I just have three things to say: Man, Bear, Pig
What a class act by Al Gore!
Trump better take notes but as we all know, he won't.
Al Gore ~ A true American patriot!
PS: Can anyone tell me what would happen if a Senator signed any objections?
Bravo. A decent public servant!! Rarest of men!
Do one on Nixon in 1961
I was seven when the 2000 election happened, it was a trying and sad time for me and my family my dads mother (my grandma) died that November and I had just started second grade at a new school
Imagine if Algore was Trump
Hey has politics changed so much, it’s sad.
Exactly with the Georgia state indictment did to Trump it's the same thing the black caucus did during the Al Gore election with Maxine Waters and the rest it's funny how people forget but I don't forget😂
USA doesn't just get it but Al Gore and Pence are responsible and great politicians who did their job with integrity putting the interest of their nation before personal ambitions. They deserve greater respect.
“It is in writing and *I DON’T CARE THAT ITS NOT SIGNED HY A MEMBER OF THE SENATE!”*

Standing her ground, well done Maxine.
Gore should have fight harder!
Back when American politics had decency
He didn’t lose. It was stolen.
"The house will advise that the rules do care" 😂
Al Gore did an outstanding job of maintaining his authority, while conducting his business. It was annoying how the other stubborn idiots kept wasting time.
no they were doing the right thing. Idk why he told senators not to join the objections. Like of course he himself couldn't but he should have allowed the objections to play out.
@@budomk9299it’s been precedent in the US that you just accept the results of the election and move on. This isn’t well known, but in 2012 Romney’s campaign had some suspicions about the vote counts, but decided to just accept the loss rather than litigate a battle they’d probably lose anyway.
This is how a person who runs for US president should behave. Gore put his country first. I just wish Trump be like Gore! Thanks Gore for upholding the US Constitution. You are a man!
3:02 😬
The fact that this video was uploaded during the same day of insurrection is hilarious 😂😂😂
Great leaders lead by example! On his tombstone, write "Al Gore, A Good Man"
wow, al gore pretty good guy.
Seems like a different era of a different maybe better country from today’s perspective.
He lost by 1500 votes after all Florida votes were released to the public but in a time where there was a belief he won’t he let himself lose to preserve the country and I respect that regardless of of the USSC vote made a difference
Lot of election deniers there that day.
Why so many house members always object, but so few or no senators object.
Because house members tend to be more “wild”
So I was wondering, does it need to be signed by a senator?
poice class and good hearteď...màybe no more of this kind ..
I love Al Gore, what a class act! Trump should learn a lesson from him!

I thought the vp showed a lot of class presiding over this.
A man who would have been a great president. But he had more up important things to do. Manbearpig wasn’t gonna hunt himself eh
The rules care.thats a leader that america lost
I have a feeling this is why every other state started to hate Florida.
So I am curious, with a lot of republicans in the senate, how come none of them wanted to sign an objection? Legitimate question.
It’s essentially at this point political suicide
537 votes that would alter the history
3:00 "I don't care that it is not signed by a member of the Senate."
How arrogant.
Manbearpig is real.
Why are people wasting his time by presenting objections without the needed senator signatures?
The same thing happend during the 2016 election
OMG, black women were fighting for Al Gore!!!
@Mr. O your comments are irrelevant

I respect both parties but I will remain an independent
Dang Biden made a good choice not to run when he was serving as VP. Any VP who runs for president while serving runs the risk being in this awkward situation
Though Biden would have beat Trump in 2016 too and if Biden ran in 2016 would have been during his final months of vp.
