The Perfectly Grilled Filet Mignon Steak

- Today we grilled up the perfect filet mignon using lump charcoal and post oak logs on the big green egg. hashtag: notsponsored
The technique I used for this steak was to get the grill to at least 500 degrees, do a short sear on both sides and then place the steak where it will not get get direct heat while th internal temp comes up to around 120 degrees for a perfect medium rare.
let it rest in a loosely tented foil with some butter and this steak will be tender, juicey, and moist. It will also melt in your mouth.

I'd say grill at 500 degrees for about 90 seconds per side. You're trying to get a good sear on both sides before taking it off direct heat. Once it is about 120 degrees internal pull it off and let it rest. Cheers!
