Nides makes such evasive remarks that he still sounds like a Biden administration official. He also rambles a lot. I learned virtually nothing from this interview.

In my opinion, the most important thing Former Ambassador Nides conveyed is that it should be possible to support both Israeli and Palestinian citizens...I would have added plus condemning Hamas as a terrorist organization. It is so troubling to see dueling protests in the U.S. for Israel and Palestine. Support for these two groups is fractured. I think this stems from the fact that the Israelis did not reach out to the people of Gaza to try to enlist their support in locating the hostages. Hamas lives among the Palestinians. I find it difficult to believe that the average citizen of Gaza has no knowledge of the way Hamas operates. But it is obvious to me as neither a Jew nor a Palestinian that these two groups have not been able to coalesce as one people belonging to the human race. In the days since the October 7th attacks, I have seen many reports of Israelis confiscating land and property of Palestinians living in the West Bank. I think it is truly a miracle that the Palestinians living with aggression in the West Bank did not attack Israel before Hamas advanced on the country. Although the ambassador had kind words to say about PM Netanyahu, I truly believe the PM has blood on his hands. The PM's right-wing government is denounced by many of its own citizens, and the intelligence failures are beyond belief. I pray for peace in the region, the safe return of all hostages and a chance for the Palestinians to live freely without the threat of Hamas continuing to endanger their lives.

Why focus on Hamas? It's not Hamas' fault. Do you shame the rape victim for attacking her rapist?
The fact that people keep talking about Hamas without the context of the oppression and human rights abuses perpetrated against Palestinians is mind boggling. Hamas didn't exist in 1948, it came about as a result of the human rights abuses perpetrated against the Palestinians.

If Hamas are terrorists for their fight to free Palestine, so is Israel for how they came into power.

@@machsimillian14You're certainly entitled to your opinion ,but I'm just calling it like it is. Hamas, like Isis, is a terrorist organization as well as a philosophy. They use violence and intimidation rather than diplomacy. I can never support that. I feel sad for the innocent Palestinians and Israelis who are being harmed by all this violence and hate. It's all so very senseless. I continue to pray for peace.

PBS you have been shameful on this entire issue. You're pretty much Israel state TV.
