@@moongirl8807 it’s scary. But the balcony frame I can easily see where she is based on some of the neighbouring residential buildings, they’re quite iconic in that area of London. Also because I used to live in one of them.
@Jen-rf5xb true at least filming out of the window etc...don't wanna act like it's nothing it's just that with her content being so focused around lifestyle and vlogs the question is how much the whole work of censoring everything will actually do. Especially since she won't stay in England that long (for now but like she's not going to spend years there)
towel heater is just a normal radiator, they just changed them to look like this to also warm and dry your towels, you really only need it when it's cold in the winter (and then it has the added benefit to heat your towels)
Please take pictures of the inventory and videos of the flat and share that asap with the landlord so you’re both on the same page regarding the state you received it in!
That’s actually really smart mostly when you do know the phone number and email of the landlord. Mostly to be sure that it is the correct item on the inventory list.
About the washer-dryer, maybe look into the customizible settings, choose one with less washing cycles (1/2 rinses) and a faster drum speed (1000), temp 30° for color, 60°/90° for whites. it should decrease the time. Maybe look for fun fabrics or bandanas / cloths to hang over the pictures, lay on the chairs or sofa. They can change a room without actually touching the permanent stuff, and easily removed. For the drawers you can look into installing railings (maybe the landlady will agree for the permanent improvement) Btw she was probably including 'unstealable' things in the list for you to asess the condition of each item (is the sink rusty/cracked? Is the vent not working? Etc) it's to protect your deposit, so you ahould take it seriously. Have a fun time!
the thing about those washer-dryer combos is that they take forever 🙃 my mum has one of those and the drying takes around 3 hours and the items still aren’t dry. Sometimes it’s easier to get a drying rack for your clothing (especially in the summer, since you have a balcony) instead of putting it in that dryer 😅
Honestly, you're kind of lucky to have any form of tumble dryer in general; a lot of homes for sale won't have space for them in the kitchens (a lot of houses that don't have utility/ laundry rooms will have the washing machine and the tumble dryer in the kitchen, kind of like your ones in the vancouver apartment. Newer flats like the one you're in currently sometimes have them in a cupboard but not always.) Not everybody owns dryers in the UK as we don't have laws forbidding outdoor washing lines like some parts of the US or Canada and most 'new build' houses don't have space for them unless they come with a utility room. A lot of home owners who want dryers but lack space will put them in garages, sheds or in under stairs cupboards as its not a default in housing design to have space for them. I've seen a lot of 2 bed houses for sale that come with spaces for dishwashers in a kitchen but not for a tumble dryer, which seems completly dumb to me but that's housing design for you. The smaller sink is so you can rinse off items as you wash them, so you can fill the larger sink with washing up liquid (Dish Soap. 'Fairy' is a good brand if you're looking for any) and rinse the items off before placing on the drying rack. Not all of us have them but I'm suprised that the US/ Canada don't really have them. UK regulations say that appliences have to be a lower voltage than what's common in the US or Canada which is probably why your hairdryer doesn't work. Also UK building regs forbid electrical sockets or switches in bathrooms apart from special ones for electric toothbrushes or electric razors (hence why bathrooms have the light switch on the outside or as a pull cord) so a lot of us use 'dressing tables' (vanities) or set up hair tools on a chest of drawers/ dresser in the bedroom. If its an annoyance you could get a little folding table, chair and a little mirror to create one or set a mirror up on a chest of drawers in your room if you have one.
What isn’t it the opposite, that the UK has much higher voltage than US/Canada? I once brought my hairdryer to Canada on holiday and it was sooo slow, not the same at all! And I assume the reason we don’t have bathroom sockets is because of our higher voltage but could be wrong since I don’t know!
Ok, so I'm from England and the double sink thing is so u wash the dishes in the large part and then rinse them in the small section, but the other things like the bulb r not British things, they're weird. Some rlly fun places to go in London and England in general are: Camden market town (u can get lots of nice market clothes and jewellery and there's a streetfood place there), there's free museums (if u find that kinda stuff interesting), China town is good but more expensive so it's easy to splurge there, in the uk we don't really have thrift shops but look thru Charity shops (like Samaritans or Oxfam) coz they raise money for people in need,I do recommend the famous places like Trafalgar Square and Buckingham palace coz the parks r nice but just don't go during rush hours, also rlly recommend visiting places out of London like Shere (Surrey) is such a pretty village and Bath and Oxford are so nice.

As far as things to do in London that are good value: - Defo see a musical or play! Todaytix usually has £15 tickets a few weeks in advance, and check when theatre week sales are on - st Dunstan in the east (an old church that was bombed in the blitz which is now a public garden) - the Barbican conservatory (now u have to book online which you didn’t used to 🙁, but it should still be free) - the Peter Harrison planetarium (planetarium shows are pretty cheap and Greenwich is lovely - also check out the painted hall near there which is considered London’s Sistine chapel equivalent!) - obvs the museums are great and free (my fav is natural history, but the V&A statue room is also amazing). The natural history museum does £30 silent disco nights every month that are a bit expensive but defo worth it - soooo much fun! - brick lane is considered the vintage Mecca and slightly less insane than Camden market but similar vibes: defo go on a Sunday so you can also visit the Columbia road flower market that happens every Sunday morning

What do you mean in London they don't have actual dryers... what century do you think we live in. It just depends on what you or your landlord buys. Go to Currys or something you'll 100% find a dryer you can buy. My flat came with a washer as well as a dryer.

You need to walk up to Victoria Park Hackney Wick area for lots of nice restaurants and cafes if you’re living in Bow. There’s a lot less in Canary Wharf/Poplar area.
She’s living in Langdon Park!
What do you mean in London they don't have actual dryers... what century do you think we live in. It just depends on what you or your landlord buys. Go to Currys or something you'll 100% find a dryer you can buy. My flat came with a washer as well as a dryer.
It's happy hour!
Already knew this was the one you chose because during the apartment hunting video you said "my bedroom" lol
there a diff settings on a washing machine so you can juts make it shorter eg. quick wash

Spray some polish on the runners of your drawers , should glide a bit better 😊
I personally wouldn’t bother decorating for only five months. You want to be careful to for you to get the deposit back .
Ummmm a dryer will use more energy and cost more to use than a heated towel rack.
