You won't need a fuel pressure regulator any bigger than 15 psi, your TBI factory fuel pump on average only puts out anywhere from 10psi to maybe 14psi, but for a TBI unit you wouldn't want more than 12 to 13 psi for a stock engine, even with a mild RV cam, unless you've done some extensive upgrades, like adding headers, ported heads, and the biggest aggressive cam that is compatible with your vehicle computer, along with a matching chip, then you might push it to 14psi if your fuel pump has that kind of pressure.
Learned a lot! I have a 95 K1500 5.7L TBI and wanting to rebuild and modify TBI as well. How much HP do you think you gained and did your MPG improve? Thank you.
On my 93 g20 350 v8 tbi, high top conversion van, automatic raptor trans, 3.73 rear gears k&n filter, bigger exhaust and usual maintamence, it at least has more power like a new version of itself. That air filter though, the old paper one, van cut off every time at takeoff on overdrive at a traffic light. I wonder if there's any other way to Increase its fuel economy? 14mpg hwy is babying it on flat ground on city or highway. 🤷♂️ most of the time it gets 12ish mpg.
Nice video. I wanna do something on my 305 but it’s a 92 and if I’m correct they didn’t have any computer? So would be able to just do it proformance throttle body?
i got the same same set up .but got the regulator adjustor and the gauge when i put it togather my gauge is reading 10 psi and i turn to adjust it and wont go no higher trying to get it to 14 psi i did some up grades and my engine been rebuild trying to find out why the wont move
I noticed my driver side injector wasn't spaying very well, or as much as the other. I replaced it, and it's still the same spray pattern. Any ideas my this might be happening?
What gans do you see and what truck did it go in is it still reliable vehicle I have a 94 suburban Silverado edition TBI and want to get some more power
That's just because of the pressure range modern fuel injection is in the 50 to 60 PSI which that clearly doesn't cover but our fuel injection barely runs over carbureted pressure
Yours is OBD2 so it's a different animal from what I'm used to, you might be looking for a laptop and some tuning software (if its tuneable) sometimes there's something you can just plug into the OBD2 port to change the parameters a little but not sure. There are always bolt ons you can do like a decent real cold intake and exhaust headers, pass through mufflers. You can even do your own porting and polishing and gasket matching for huge gains if that's something you can handle that's just the cost of a head gasket set and some of your time. Also low horsepower engines like yours and mine really benefit from losing parasitic drag and weight like your clutch fan for example convert to Electric fan. And last but not least try to upgrade your transmission with bolt ons if possible like it's there was a version have you ever transmission that they put in a Camaro or a Corvette look for parts that can be swapped out and bolted into yours or even just a simple electronic tune might be available. I do know the fan swap on your truck can be easy look for a stock dual fan and shroud assembly from an 06 it might plug right in to yours and all you have to do is swap two wires in your harness... Maybe
Thank u so much now I know where to get everything I need !! Grate video would love to see more on this gm tbi

I think I'm going to add some nitrous
I use 2.8l injectors\17 pound fuel pump in my 1986 4.3l. I like it
Coooool thanks for the info so. Different size motor different size injectors ?

Its hard to say its minuet but there is definitly a gain in hp and at least no loss of mpg
Bad ass thanks great video

How's that fuel pressure gauge holding up? I'm looking to buy one
do it
2 questions, question 1 did your fuel injector harness still fit and second question did turning your injectors make any difference
Plenty of room in the harness but I don't think I noticed any difference from turning the injectors
Those injectors only sit one way....show video with injectors sitting dufferent and running...waiting...very curious

it may be the pump just doesn't provide or the regulator diaphragm is installed incorrectly. does it fire off with starting fluid?
Cfm injector riser plate help any? Notice any difference?
yup

Corroded connector or damaged wire

My biggest gaines were from removing the fan off the front of the engine and headers
@@GibsonGarage the engine has a lot of heat coming from under the hood?
@@worstnightmare9772 ceramic coated headers will help alot
I saw that gauge at the parts store. On the back of it, it says not to use with fuel injection.

my capeice classic 1989 😍👍🏻
Bet them injectors didnt sit the way you had them and the top fit rite...lmao
Do you know if the hypertech is available for a 99 tahoe? It’s a Tbi 350

Not a tbi. It’s a spider direct fuel injection
So how did it run after these mods?
Pretty good
👍
en español fuera bueno gracias no entiendo nada 🤔
