Took a bit but eventually got there. Had the GPU thingy enabled in Windows 11; Steam wouldn't start Icarus in dx12 mode even when choosing the "Play Icarus (dx12)" startup option. Had to modify the actual launch option command line in steam to include "-dx12" - then DLSS would be available to use. Yay! dx12 alone was an 10-20 FPS increase. Other gotcha I had, my base lighting was killing FPS in my base proper. had to switch off that option, Only Light Sources from the sun, don't recall immediately what that's called - Might be the "Light Shadows" option. tl;dr. thanks very much! This was super helpful! 🙂
Hi mate. It doubled my fps. Great work. I still get a hugh reduction in FPS the longer I stay in a prospect though. Also did you see how to delete the standby memory. It completely removes all choppy movement in between areas. Big problem with memory leak in this game. Keep up the vids.👍🤪🙏
6700xt with framegen/ fsr ultra quality set to 80% and pushing 230fps on higher settings. Dont see any visual issues. They did some magic with Icarus recently.
one important note, your base FPS without frame gen should allready be ~ 60 fps because framegen has no idea of your inputs. if your base fps is too low you will feal a input lag between your mouse movement and the actual movement on your screen. 130fps with framegen is not the same as 130 fps without framegen. your input will still be limited to 65 fps in this case
if you have more than one monitor make sure your selecting the right one on your desktop like i showed, if it's stil lshowing off try turning on full screne mode in game that might let you. if all else fails make sure dlss is enabled on the geforce control panel some mother board also have "GPU hardware scheduling" turned off on the bios which needs enabled. that fps is via the nvidia overlay (alt+f9) to bring up the overlay.
Find it helpful ?
Cheers matey. I'll check it out later, and see what it does for my 3060ti

Great! Yeah light shadows can be a big factor even effects me every now and then I have to Alt out and back in to fix it.

Good job! No how do you do that to remove stand by memory?
@Fortizar this works.
Although I just saw the video is 5 years old.
@abritablondeabike I'll have a look for it
@Fortizar hay have you seen the short cut in to the null zone.
Would love to show you. It's epic.
@abritablondeabike I know there's a cave, not sure which is the short cut though.

How my 6650xt and i have 30 40fps in low settings 😢
@@qaisarkhan3346 6650 is quite a bit slower.. also im using a 5700x3d cpu
Yeah I've saw a big difference in stability since my return, that's good your getting that with a amd card they use to have the most issues.

There's a noticeable difference between frame gen on/off inside my base but overall away from my base the games so much smoother.
wouldnt let me turn the DLSS on, have a 4060ti....how do you show that FPS meter in the top left?

Whats your cpu and gpu ?
ryzen 5800X cpu
RTX 4070ti
My 2070 super runs this game pretty smoothly.
My old 2070 super use to do ok off stream but couldn't stream + good quality.
