Same story here, clone wars is what got me into star wars. When I first saw it air on cartoon network I was like meh star wars and 20 minute episodes. But then I slowly got into it and here we are.
I’m 30 years old now so my parents got me into Star Wars, I remember having the OT special edition VHS set lol. Then DVD set for the prequels. I thought Clone Wars series was a bit boring when I was a teenager but still watched them. I never cried ever watching Star Wars but the whole last episode of season 7 had me in tears.
You can really tell how much Dave cares about the star wars universe and the respect he has for what George Lucas originally envisioned. I’m hoping he can lead the star wars universe from now on.
@@robloxguy3977 my problem was the extra chromosome looking Anakin & how the Lightsabers wobbled like a rubber pencil. always thought Kotor did a brilliant job with the movements of the blades. don't forget how stupid the Imperials were in the show. I feel Gregor and Wolffe are the only characters that need their story told in how they survived Clone Wars, Order 66 and so on. Also there was originally a plan to return to Mon Cala, hope to see it novel form.
Yes, we need an epilogue episode/arc were we see how they meet up with Wolffe and eventually land together with Gregor. After that Ahsoka can leave seeing her friend is united again with his brothers.
This guy deserves to be the CEO of Lucasfilm. I've always loved him, he and John Favreau, both are the only ones who have a genuine care about everything that George Lucas did and created
There’s no saving Star Wars after what the fuck happened with The rise of Skywalker you can’t save Star Wars once the Skywalker saga is Done or should I say palpatine
Notice how Filoni jumped on that "when are you gonna do a film?" question so directly. That suggests to me that staff has been grilling him about it, but he has pushed back on it and doesn't want to give that a go until he feels he's ready.
"Star Was does it's best when it relates to the everyday life that we have. That a galaxy far, far away feels right down the street." Dave Filoni -2020 Dave really IS Star Wars. He has made some of the greatest Star Wars media in history and yet he just touts himself as a humble messenger. This man deserves every bit of love and success he has and SO much more. Thank you for all you've given' to us Dave, thank you for all you've given' to Star Wars. The fandom and the world will NEVER forget. P.S. I'm casting my 1000th vote to make Dave Filoni the director and CEO of all Star Wars everything effective immediately. That is all.
I have to say a BIG TKS to Dave Filoni and all team involved in such production, The Mandalorian, Rebels and Clone Wars brought to me the same feeling that I had when I saw Star Wars the first time in 1977....keep doing this amazing job!!!!!
Not even 2 minutes in I respect how Dave says he went back and made sure he didn’t violate anything and etc. Even a man that devoted hours to this series went and looked back as opposed to Rian Johnson who lacked that skill, a small reason why everyone loves clone wars and hates the sequels
The thing that Dave said about being on the edge when watching the finale WITHOUT seeing Rebels... I was on the edge anyway but yeah I think I would have gotten a heart attack if I wasn't sure that Ahsoka and Rex survive. Like these moments when tears go down Rex's cheeks when he is about to execute order 66 or when they are trying to escape the cruiser - the emotional impact there would have been tripled so in that regard that is a bit of a downer, imagine seeing that without knowing about what happens in Rebels, holy...
Dave wants Jon to be the President. He just said it. Jon would be Executive President in charge of handling personnels and Dave for Creative President. They would be perfect together. I still see Kevin getting the job as a new test before becoming Disney CEO.
How to fix the sequel trilogy: Make a “New Republic” series just like clone wars with Dave running it. Cover everything between 6 and 7. Have it explain palps plan, Kylos turn, Leia and Hans split, bring back Boba, how the first order started, what Rex and Ahsoka did post ep 6, possible rebels connection. There’s so many stories they can do, and that’s just with the characters we know about.
No, burn the whole Disney sequel thing. One of the reason why Clone Wars works is that the sequel trilogy had a strong back story and knew where it's going. Disney's was all over the place
Nah. Just leave the Skywalker saga alone. That horse has already been beaten dead and then beaten again. It was done to perfection between '77 and '83, Lucas tried to expand on it with the prequels, was meh, but there was a solid foundation so it could be saved by the show. Disney's first mistake after buying the SW IP was to try and expand on that saga. It put them between the "trying to make it their own" hammer and the "fan service" nail and just created a complete mess. They should drop any attempts on trying to expand on that saga, rather expand the universe even more and create new and only slightly related things ... under Filoni's creative direction hopefully.
The score in the final 4 episodes was unreal. You can feel the tension as soon as Anakin starts his turn to the dark side. So bone chilling I nearly cried watching it
"The most important thing is: Is there a good story? And how well can something be done?" I'd wish more creators would think this way... prioritizing story and characters over any other considerations.

This man made my childhood. From the clone wars movie at a drive in theater with lightsaber toys at the concessions to now. Filoni truly is a gem to the star wars fan base. I really appreciate this dudes existence :,)
I think the big difference is that if they're getting a big name actress like Rosario Dawson to play Ahsoka I doubt they'd dub over her, Ray Park is an incredible stunt man and *is* maul as far as his live action appearances go but he was also dubbed in the Phantom Menace and outside of people who actually know a decent amount about stunts and Star Wars his appearance isn't necessarily a big draw
@@joshhunt4146 1 according to the imdb. I'm so excited to see this character finally on live-action! I think hers was gonna be a cameo in this but after that disney will probably make an Ahsoka live-action series according to the rumors and it will probably take place after the battle of Endor.
He is such an amazing story teller and he totally understands star wars the way George meant it to be. He is humble and grateful , you don’t find that in Hollywood anymore. He invented and developed Ashoka and did it with perfection. I have been a Star Wars fan as far back as I can remember (35+ years) and this character has become one of my favorites.

6:43 "I don't like to explain too much, I love for the viewers just to watch stuff and come up with their own theories" And this, ladies in gentlemen, is why Dave Filoni is a master of storytelling. Instead of forcing his own interpretations down our throats, he encourages us, the viewers, to come to our own conclusions. I remember reading Tolkein's comments about the Lord of the Rings trilogy and he said a similar thing.
Filoni feels relieved? Was there any doubt it would go over great? He must hold himself to such a high standard. He has spoiled us Star Wars fans. Clone Wars surpasses the OT in my opinion. I really wish we could get to see Ashoka and Anakin reconcile though, btw this, and Twilight of the Apprentice, my heart is completely broken. There isn't enough praise in the world for the team and Filoni behind these series and shows (Rebels and The Mandalorian included). This is for the fans, Star Wars is for the fans. Same story here, clone wars is what got me into star wars. When I first saw it air on cartoon network I was like meh star wars and 20 minute episodes. But then I slowly got into it and here we are.
you lucky.... my first star war and star track was on the same night in theater.... still never top that day
❤️
Same here. I had watched all the movies, but it wasn't until TCW that I began to become immersed into the lore of Star Wars
Rebels should have had the Clone Wars animation. That animation is the standard Star Wars animation.
usssanjacinto1 it wasn’t as bad as everyone says, I’d take it over shitty Star Wars: Resistance animation Style any day of the week
It was just so expensive to produce. Rebels only had that Disney xd budget. Clone wars was originally funded by George Lucas personally
Rebels started very family friendly. It ended with a hell of a bang. Same could be said of Clone Wars.
It also should’ve had the writing CW had.
@@robloxguy3977 my problem was the extra chromosome looking Anakin & how the Lightsabers wobbled like a rubber pencil.
always thought Kotor did a brilliant job with the movements of the blades.
don't forget how stupid the Imperials were in the show.
Deathtroopers are suppose to be this Elite group but they can't tag a single rebel.
Dave is such a treasure to the Star Wars community. We're lucky to have him.
I absolutely love how they got a real fan for the interview. Not just a random person faking it.
This is the hero that Lucasfilm needs. Between him, Waititi, Chow, and Favreu, the company doesn't need anyone else.
Please leave out Waititi, he's not the right style. Chows work instead ... is wonderful!
Oliver Haake the last episode of the mandalorian was the best one. I don’t wanna hear it.
Yes
@Richard Sutton Except it doesn't need its president right now, because she's prioritizing political views over storytelling...
aviagamer Waititi is not a fan hater and he will make an amazing story because he’s a fantastic director. I’m sure of it
The inclusion of R7 actually made the last couple of episodes 10x better for me
I was legitimately mad about the droids at the end. Which, of course, is what they wanted!
@@AngeloBarovierSD didn't care about the other droids bit when r7 got shot I was prepared to riot 🙉
Right?????
Gareth Daniel idk man..CH-33P was holding a special place in my heart during those episodes. When he said “cheep-cheep”...I felt that.
did rex bring R7 with them in the ship ? we can see pieces of a droid at the end of the episode
Also I could listen to Dave talk about Star Wars forever too!
This dude is awesome. He cares so deeply for the franchise, I don't know why he's not in charge of it. He makes star wars better
"I can listen to you talking about Star Wars forever"-I think we all can relate
I feel Gregor and Wolffe are the only characters that need their story told in how they survived Clone Wars, Order 66 and so on. Also there was originally a plan to return to Mon Cala, hope to see it novel form.
Yes, we need an epilogue episode/arc were we see how they meet up with Wolffe and eventually land together with Gregor. After that Ahsoka can leave seeing her friend is united again with his brothers.
I was hoping they would show it and how Rex met up with them
There was also an unfinished episode that took place on utapau before episode 3, sad to see it never got polished
@@TheCitedAviator I know, right?
@@TheCitedAviator they should put the lost arcs as bonus on disney plus
I don’t how but my love for this man continues to grow everytime I see him interact with this universe, thank you Dave Filoni
people said the same thing with Lucas.... don't put too much hope...
With a good story you can make any character likable -Dave Filoni.
So Dave had nothing to do with the sequel trilogy then gotcha.
This Man is A Legend. We are so lucky to have Him right now because He's The Only One who truly Understands Star Wars. DAVE IS THE GOAT!!!!!!!
Seeing Dave without his trademark cowboy hat is so weird
aderose just be glad he’s wearing any sort of hat. Imagine seeing the top of his head 😂
Covid Filoni
I want to know where we can get a hat like he is wearing and the Shirt! Awesome.
Like Cad Baine without his hat
This man is a hero. Give him all the lucasfilm rights
This guy deserves to be the CEO of Lucasfilm. I've always loved him, he and John Favreau, both are the only ones who have a genuine care about everything that George Lucas did and created
Do you know what a CEO is? If you did, you would be wanting Dave nowhere near it. You want him running his own shows or movies.
@@michaeloconnor5904 this^
Johanna_ Jelly basically the kevin feige of star wars
@Isaiah Herrero Which then made the first six movies pointless and the reason why I despise the ST.
No, you want a CEO that doesn't have an agenda to push and knows to keep their fingers out of creative and let people like Dave handle that.
Dave Filoni is saving Star Wars
There’s no saving Star Wars after what the fuck happened with The rise of Skywalker you can’t save Star Wars once the Skywalker saga is Done or should I say palpatine
More like he keeps the hope alive
Notice how Filoni jumped on that "when are you gonna do a film?" question so directly. That suggests to me that staff has been grilling him about it, but he has pushed back on it and doesn't want to give that a go until he feels he's ready.
"Star Was does it's best when it relates to the everyday life that we have. That a galaxy far, far away feels right down the street."
Dave Filoni -2020
Dave really IS Star Wars.
Clone wars was a huge part of my childhood thank you Dave Filoni for all the wonderful memories
Interviewer was very well prepared and her questions were great!Good job!
dave please make a movie Rex A Star Wars Story on after order 66 and what he does between this and rebels
Belgian Racing Pigeons that would be awesome!
Temuera Morrison has expressed interest in playing that role!
Would have to include how Wolfe and Gregor remove their inhibitor chips
KonguZya That’s an incredible idea, and if they got Temuera on board that would be perfect!
I think Bad Batch would make a great story/Movie as well.
How to tell if a Disney star wars content is going to be good: is Dave Filoni involved
I have to say a BIG TKS to Dave Filoni and all team involved in such production, The Mandalorian, Rebels and Clone Wars brought to me the same feeling that I had when I saw Star Wars the first time in 1977....keep doing this amazing job!!!!!
That end scene was probably the best animated depiction of Darth Vader-ever. Hats off to the team that bought this amazing series to life.
Thank you Dave, George and everyone! So grateful for everything you’ve given us.
This guy is a GENIUS!!! Give him a Oscar!!!!
Not even 2 minutes in I respect how Dave says he went back and made sure he didn’t violate anything and etc. Even a man that devoted hours to this series went and looked back as opposed to Rian Johnson who lacked that skill, a small reason why everyone loves clone wars and hates the sequels
It’s too bad JJ Abrams didn’t do that w/ the latest trilogy! It would have been so much better & made sense!
dude !! even bringing Johonson's name here is an insult
He Will bring balance into the fandom! Help us Dave kenobi , u are our only hope!
Bossolo does things Obi-Wan Filoni
What a powerful finale... Thank you for the amazing ending Dave!
He should make a ahsoka series
(I know Clone wars is about Ahsoka but a series about the future of ahsoka after or before rebels just like kenobi)
I would love to see a series on Cad Bane and Rex.
He did, its called Clone Wars
Since Ahsoka x Lux is sort of my favorite Clone Wars couple, I would love to see that relationship reignited.
A.J Thomas I ship rex and ahsoka tho hahahah
@@lakernation26 nah he's like a brother or even a father figure
Give the interviewer a raise, she got the most important man at LucasFilm to talk SW for 21 straight minutes
The Clone Wars tv show is the reason that era is my favorite in all of Star Wars
Yep same
Dave wants Jon to be the President. He just said it. Jon would be Executive President in charge of handling personnels and Dave for Creative President. They would be perfect together. I still see Kevin getting the job as a new test before becoming Disney CEO.
Ryan Chua Favreau would be a great president for Lucasfilm.
This Is the way!!
How about the life of a Clone after the Clone Wars ends
Yes!
i hope that merch is available somewhere, there is no good clone wars merch
i saw one just like it on etsy, by sixth company
Your wish is granted. Hot Toys, the preeminent 1:6 figure company has the license.
Just go to Her Universe... Ashley obtained a license to create CW tees. Our Universe is the part of the website that has the men's apparel
I know lol I want Dave’s jacket so bad
I would like to find that hat.
I know Disney’s been hurting in toy sales, they gotta drop Clone Wars S7 merch. People will eat it up
Totally agree! I love the hat and Hoodie Dave is wearing! I would love to have one of those hats and hoodies and a T-Shirt! Awesome! Dave is awesome! Met him at SDCC 2013 & he BS’d w/ me for like 15-min! So nice and super cool! Met Ashley as well at the same Con! She was working her Her Universe Booth and was so nice and chatted w/ me for a few minutes, since some people didn’t realize who she was! It was an awesome Con!
"Ended, the Clone Wars has"
ALL HAIL DAVE FILONI, THE TRUE LEADER OF STAR WARS , THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION !!!!!!!
What a great guy. You can tell he's good because he's complimenting other people rather than getting defensive about his work and blaming the fans.
This man made my childhood. From the clone wars movie at a drive in theater with lightsaber toys at the concessions to now. Filoni truly is a gem to the star wars fan base. I really appreciate this dudes existence :,)
Maul was dubbed in Solo . . . I see no reason why Ahsoka couldn't be too
I think the big difference is that if they're getting a big name actress like Rosario Dawson to play Ahsoka I doubt they'd dub over her, Ray Park is an incredible stunt man and *is* maul as far as his live action appearances go but he was also dubbed in the Phantom Menace and outside of people who actually know a decent amount about stunts and Star Wars his appearance isn't necessarily a big draw
Nick Fletcher. It has been confirmed that ahsoka won’t play a major part in the mandolorian. My guess is two episodes
@@joshhunt4146 1 according to the imdb. I'm so excited to see this character finally on live-action! I think hers was gonna be a cameo in this but after that disney will probably make an Ahsoka live-action series according to the rumors and it will probably take place after the battle of Endor.
Başak id be down for that...
Başak then we would need an Ashoka movie during the timeline between episode 4-6 (live action that is since we all know Rebels was NOT Ashoka centric)
I lost my girl last month she left me but I got to see the clone wars final episodes thank u Dave filoni keep making Star wars
Feloni should be the Starwar's Feige... not whoever (shall remain nameless) is currently holding that job.
You want Dave running the business and finances? That would be such a waste of his enormous talents.
She doesnt have anymore creative control now, George Lucas has stepped in to retcon the 3 movies in the sequel trilogy
@@waveware4678 I legit have no clue whether you're joking or not and it scares me
@@waveware4678 wait what?????? is this true?
Andrew Waveware you better be serious
Dave Filoni and everyone who worked on these last 4 episodes... THANK YOU for reawekening the deep love for Star Wars! This was STAR WARS!
Dave is the GOAT
He's a hack.
@@AJDOLDCHANNELARCHIVE obvious troll is obvious
They should've let him do the sequels instead of Abrams and Johnson
Desmond Owers jar jar Abrams
Too many cooks in the kitchen. Dave’s more like the chef running the food truck that serves the really interesting but also tasty and satisfying meals in a less pretentious setting. 🤙✌️
He should've done the Sequels then they would've been worth to watch
KK wanted Jar Jar Abrams and Ruin Johnson... So what we got was the Mary-Sue Palpatine trilogy...
6:43 "I don't like to explain too much, I love for the viewers just to watch stuff and come up with their own theories"
And this, ladies in gentlemen, is why Dave Filoni is a master of storytelling. Instead of forcing his own interpretations down our throats, he encourages us, the viewers, to come to our own conclusions. I remember reading Tolkein's comments about the Lord of the Rings trilogy and he said a similar thing.
This man has been my idol since I was 4. Thanks for the memories, Dave. Hope to see you back in the writing room again soon
Dave Filoni should lead every Star Wars project moving forward.
We need a live action on Asaj Ventress!!
Make it dark themed , on Dathomir and release during Halloween.
its a shame she died off screen before the events of the siege of mandalore :/
She's dead.
Palpatine was dead Darth Maul died it means nothing.
Angeline Jolie should play her. She looks and sounds like Asajj Ventress
Edit: And the finale shot, could not possibly be more perfect
He didn't say relieved at the fan reaction, he meant relieved that the finale is finally out for people to watch
@@CalebRichardsChannel good point.
Honestly I wouldn’t normally pay attention for an entire 20 minute video, but I could sit and listen to Dave y’all about his passion for Star Wars for hours. Love this man!
Dave faloni is one of the most amazing, modest, nicest guy in the world and we are so lucky to have him writing and directing the shows that make us love star wars.
I was in high school when Revenge of the sith came out. I remember the feeling at the end, I was devastated and at the same time so happy to have experienced the story going into A new hope. It had a sense of closure for me. After watching the finale of The clone wars I had the same feeling. There isn't enough praise in the world for the team and Filoni behind these series and shows (Rebels and The Mandalorian included). This is for the fans, Star Wars is for the fans. In my opinion you could throw away the sequels and it won't matter a bit.
Thanks Dave! Awesome job on this season. The last 4 episodes were amazing.
THIS is who should be running Star Wars.
How lovable is this guy. I stood in line for the original star wars and when I watch his work it feels like the 70's.
Dave Filoni - thank you for your skills as a story teller, film maker and for your love of Star Wars
