Arctic Challenge | 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro | Toyota
/ toyotausa
I've watched this commercial over dozens of times now. Showing what this truck can do in such a harsh environment is a true testiment to the quality of Toyota vehicles. Now, I'm proud to say that my first ever Toyota is a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road. No longer will I be living vicariously through these videos. I've made a dream come true. Tacoma family...I'm proud and excited to join y'all and "Let's Go Places!"
Just joined the taco family. My dad had a Toyota Tacoma now I have one of my own. 2020 Toyota Tacoma trd off road, sand brown. I’m in love ❤️
How exciting, Jimi! Congrats on your new Tacoma TRD. What has been your favorite feature so far?
That shot of the Tacoma plowing through the snow and wind is pretty epic...
It's great to see Toyota truly focusing on the mechanics of these TRD Pro vehicles, not just cosmetics. It's also great to see that Fox suspension components finally made the cut! I have a Fox 2.5" coil-over performance suspension set on my '13 Tacoma, and the build quality is impressive. Nice one, Toyota!
When you absolutely, positively have to depend on your vehicle to get you somewhere you buy a toyota tacoma or 4Runner. Failure free.
Nah lies. Lol
Toyota Anyday!!!
I did a baby version of this. When i bought my 2017 tacoma trd pro in pennsylvania, i did so knowing i would get to drive it back to florida. I drove it about 1,400 miles total that weekend, and not a single hiccup. Drove it through snow, rainstorms, and iced roads. The truck performed beautifully in stock form. Very happy with my purchase.
Bought my Cement TRD Pro Taco two weeks ago. 450 miles so far, and loving it.
I bought a FirstGen Tacoma 4X4 in 1995, still have it, driving it daily. THEY RUN FOREVER.
I call it "The Ultimate Driving Machine
Jon Patterson LPC epic
I still love my Taco - prerunner great yet at 73,000 miles .It's always there ,always runs.
Reliable, durable, slick. Something no other truck has. Well done Toyota.
I bought a 2019 Tacoma TRD Offroad DC with the tech and premium package yesterday. I traded in my 2016 SR5 for it. I’m really excited to have rear locker in my truck and the MTS. I never got stuck before, but now I have a little ‘ore confidence. This is my 4th Tacoma. Love my Tacos
Damn that was really GNARLY snow storm. I'm sold on the TRD PRO
Awesome! The film crew must have been in the trd tundra.
Love how the guy the pulled up to was in a Tundra. Can't wait to get my Tundra. Toyota trucks kick ass
+Hazmat0357
The next Tundra will be V8 Diesel which mean great MPG for an American Truck!
Meanwhile GM shows off how well the Colorado and Canyon parallel park in the city...
+Gazziza29 Thats because they would have gotten stuck if they were up in Alaska with us! :)
+Gazziza29
Neither of those trucks have the ground clearance a Tacoma and Frontier has and also neither are really off-road vehicle, they are more like work truck and would you really want to trust an American car in freaking Alaska?
+Andy Bell Are either of you guys over 6 feet tall? I sat in a 2016 Tacoma and my head was hitting the roof. Does this TRD Pro have any more head room?
+endocry I'm 6"2 and I have a 2014 Tacoma and gonna trade it with the 2017 I can't fit perfectly. Don't know what ur talking about
Muzafar Aleme Well if you don't know what I'm talking about I don't know if I can simplify it any more. I sat in a 2016 Tacoma and my head was rubbing the mother lovin roof.
Lmao that film was more over-dramatic than an episode of ice road truckers!
I'm totally getting truck no matter what
I love how clean the truck is at the end of its long ice covered trip. Maybe they washed it in the -30 temp...
I keep on watching this video again and again. I dont know if im pumped up with driving in alaska on a weather like this or with the taco.
porque no las dos?
fluffykittynoodles porque no? Callate vato
I'm coming over from euro's and big diesel trucks to Toyota. We inherited a 91 22re with 250k on it and she is so awesome we bought an 18 Tacoma trd off-road and are slapping a set of bilstein b8 on it. We love it. Convert for life
thank you Toyota!!!!! I love y'all for this!!!!
if that's the sound it makes I love it
My 99 Tacoma has 338,000 and runs like new. Love my truck!
Dude, I can't believe you jumped in the water. Cool Video.
Next new truck for sure. Currently have a 2002 Ford Ranger extended cab, and runs great. Reliability is the most important thing to a truck and this new Tacoma defined that.
Seeing as how you drive that old of a car, it's not likely you'd be able to afford a new Tacoma lmao
Marco Valdez "The truck I have right now is paid off." LOL It's a 2002 FORD RANGER! I'd be amazed if it wasn't paid off lmfao. How much did you pay for it?4k? lmfao Oh, so you're saying you can, at this moment, buy a brand new 2017 Tacoma TRD-Pro not in payments, but in full?
+Heartagram You couldn't afford one either. What business is it up yours what I can afford.
You know some people don't feel the need to have the newest of everything. If it isn't broke way replace it?
Toyota please... Please! Make the Tacoma a tad just TAD bit bigger! Like an extra half an inch in diameter and add about 3 inches of leg space on the back! You guys rock!
GOOD PERFORMANCE AND RELIABLE TRUCK AND THE DESIGN OF THE FRONT WITH FOG LIGHTS,CONGRATULATIONS TACOMA IS WAITING FOR ME
Tacomanation, the best truck....
This video doesn't make me want to buy a Tacoma. It makes me want to go to Alaska in the middle of winter.
+Xentenon
You have link?
Bob Enzyte then this video ain't for you my friend, you're in the wrong place
@3:58 i thought i was watching a movie! great video ;)
I was on the fence for a 2016 but this one finally make change my mind in trading in my 2015 DCSB TRD Sport, this truck make me fall in love 😊
04 tundra, 235,000 and counting. Live up in fairbanks, AK
I've been waiting for this moment all my life ❤️ lol
Now that I think about it Toyota should add an engine block heater to the TRD Pro models.
can't say anything, toyota has been great building quality trucks.
Was the truck automatic or standard
3:20 "this truck is so sick!"
Also 3:20 there's an actual sick truck abandoned right there.
I think the new Toy Taco is big enough now for a small V8 engine option.
What it really needs is a Diesel! But yeah a V8 option would be sick
+plague1313 Yeah, I have one and the 3.5L has enough power. It won't win many races but it definitely has enough balls. However, mid-size trucks nowadays are pretty big (my stock TRD OR 4x4's hood sits higher than a co-worker's '05 silverado 1500) and it really does need a diesel or something. Also there is a fine line that they are walking where a bigger displacement engine would probably get equal or better MPG. A big displacement engine (like the GM 5.3) doesn't have to work hard at all to move a vehicle and gets pretty decent MPG. A small displacement engine has to work harder so the MPG gain is negligible.
If they added a diesel and a V8 option to this truck their sales would go through the roof!
+Justin Smith If you want a diesel you can get the Colorado in diesel for 2016
DARRYL PHILLIPS Yeah but the Tacoma looks better.
Motor Trend did an Epic Drive with the 4Runner. That was cool too!
You can have my money when there is a diesel Tacoma or bring the 2.8 Hilux to the states
Hilux rules in Argentina since 15 years and counting... 🇦🇷🏁👏
I wonder how many times the camera crew had to tow them out lol. "You don't need a block heater". Yeah shut it off for a night or two and tell me that lol.
Keep in mind these guys are pretty good drivers. I'm sure I'd have gotten stuck, but you never know with these guys. The right driver can take anything just about anywhere haha
fiacuwhaiasam
Josh Veros what's a black heater?
Evan Faraday it warmup the engine to help it turn on in the cold winter.
Best car commercial I ever saw
We appreciate the love! ♥
TOYOTA #1
Can I get a tacoma or tundra with just a regular key with no transmitter?
I love my tacoma
That’s what we like to hear, Adrian! 🙌 How long have you had your Tacoma?
@@toyotausa this is my second purchase, first one was a 2014 Trd offroad and now own a 2019 SR5 4dr with the six food bed 4x4 and loving it
That's awesome! Sounds like you'll be Team Tacoma for life, Adrian. 😎
Only commercials will have stock vehicle venture to Alaska winter without prep. True car owners will never let it start, in brutal cold, without additional warmer and insulation.
Never missing the envy
More of this please...
I want one!
Bravo Toyota!
û
Everybody say that
Small v8, front diff lock and rear window roll down option. Thanks
Ugh. This is an awesome truck!
Sick, I love backroading in my tacoma.
😎
Awesome video and truck, looking to pick one up myself soon just have to decide blaze orange or silver love both colors the regular trd off road or should i wait for the pro
The only one Tacoma video without talking RAPTOR on youtube.
Pretty sure my 5th gen SR5 4runner could do the same.. gosh I love Toyota trucks. All their 4wheel drive models are capable and reliable for this kind of adventure ❤️
I just drove the Dalton to Deadhorse and back in my 78 Pinto Wagon, so it must be as tough as a Toyota pickup .
In winter?
@@voyager8049 and without a block heater?
Lol does Jeep have a channel wit these kind of challenges? 😂
I want this truck!
Awesome
looks like Tacoma #5 for me.
Love the rear drum brakes!!! bringing back the Carb and manual wipers!!!!
"What gets you into trouble up here is there is no 911" Fires up a chain saw and jumps into frozen lake.....
Que hermoso cuando todo cambia algo para algo mejor
Used to live in the interior of Alaska. Did 2 winters in an 03 f150 manual with bald tires. Still want a TRD PRO though. 2 trucks is better than 1.
Gets 2016 Tacoma a month ago.
This comes out 3 weeks later.
Shit.
+Jesus Gomez Was thinking of buying a 2016 but I don't think I have any choice but to wait for this thing now.
When I bought my Tacoma in late September the salesman swore to me that the TRD PRO had died off and was no longer going to be produced, lying bastard
+TheKurtTribute trusting a salesman, come on you know better than that
+Jesus Gomez hahahah yep...that's exactly how i feel..fml
+Memo I know it. I still love the truck, but that TRD PRO is calling my name. Sooner is better than later, as I already have 30,000 miles on this truck.
Are the wheels and tires the same as what's on the 2016 TRD Offroad?
awesome truck . like this truck alot.
Hi! I have Tacoma 2017 on 13000 miles I have problem with Accessory Drive Belt Idler Pulley! It is dead and make a big noise. My question why it is so weak? Just 13000 miles and it is dead! Thank you!
hey @toyota usa when are you going to give one of these bad boys to expedition overland so we can really see what it can do?
Great truck. Northernmost road in the continental Western Hemisphere. There are a handful of short roads further north in the Canadian Arctic Islands.
Man...I want one!!!!
I got a question for Toyota how come the trd pro tundra doesn't have the rear locker ? I know it's a full size truck
Too bad I already bought a 4runner turd pro. Awesome truck. Glad to see Toyota not only builds reliable vehicles now but also interesting ones.
turd pro heh
Minnesota sees weather just as bad if not worse than certain parts of Alaska. Just look at Jan 27th-31st 2019.... -40F ambient and -60F windchill.... My 2014 carmy only started with a battery charger and a block heater at work, i had the block heater plugged in the entire day.... I work at MSP airport so the parking lot is exposed to the full force of the wind. It was horrible those days and my car didnt even want to start but it did.... Needless to say, il be upgrading to the tacoma in a few years because im sick of not being able to get through the snow....
I like Tacoma 2017
Awesome truck
what did they change from the 16 model than the 17 model? I only see fog lights to be different, the TRD pro is just amazing
nothing except price
the suspension is different and LED foglights
TheKillzone1511 upgraded suspension and coilovers, trd skid plates, hood scoop w/graphics, blacked out lights, led rigid ind. fog lights, leather seats, upgraded trd exhaust, trd shift knob, blacked out grill and trd rims.. def think it's worth the money over the TRD OR 4X4 but you could always add those things on later if you want the look of a pro
Alexander Garcia i found some trd pro wheel to put on my 17 offroad. i think for the 18 nodel toyota will need add a few things to make it better. first will need to be a front locker like the new zr2 and 2nd more power.
ima order an 18 if they make the changes I want or ill get the zr2 but no longbed or sunroof will be available for the zr2 from doing some searching
Love the Tacoma. But miss the FJ cruiser.
fox shocks and rigid industries lights, all we need now is front diff lock!
Nah we got crawl
Never going to happen! Lol
I'm gonna buy it!!!👌🏻
Wow! Excellent video. Literally we can feel a “challenger spirit” :-)
I think a AK rifle on a stand in the back of the cabin would be great in this truck. If going to Alaska.
la MEJOR . camioneta
So...what truck did they use to follow them and take videos?
another toyota
so far it looks good but i wish that they make the wheel well big to accommodate bigger tires, so if you wanted to put 35s or 37s you need a 6 to 8 inch lift and throwing center of gravity well i guess i can wait see or wait for the jeep wrangler pickup
Can you please bring back the FJ?
Thanks
It looks like a great vehicle but come on the Camera Crew was there probably with all the emergency aid available also the bank account of Toyota to pull this Ad through with no deaths.
I'm see that every year 🤣😭💔 I hope I buy one 🤞🏼❤ I love it
will this grill work on a 2016? i want it
so freakin awesome
This is a great video of what appears the next great truck to hit the market already prebuilt to take a relatively solid beating. It ALMOST makes me want to trade in my built, supercharged/ mid travel'ed out 2nd Gen, but then I look at mine and realize what a total curb stomper, dune hopper it already is and the fact that I have put a blower on it. Which ultimately stops me. Mine is more monster for the same price this will be, so I think I'll hang on to mine!
I can't wait to see these out on the road, however.
+Roberto Sanchez I know exactly what you mean! I have a first gen, supercharged with a 2 inch lift (from stock) and I've debated upgrading every new model, but when I look under the body nothing (major) has changed the since the 2nd gen, plus no supercharger support, drum brakes in 2016, heavier truck and a price tag of $45K puts it in Raptor money. Great thing is that the old Tacoma's last so damn long by the time mine dies the Tacoma will probably be on it's 10th gen...
+Roberto Sanchez But that doesn't mean I won't test drive one when my local dealers get their shipment in!
+Snakstaz Lol yeah dude. it's all SO true!!
Just Awesome!!!!
This isn't commercial this is a short movie
What type of gas?
What about tyres ?
Rubicon!!!
Best truck
We're so glad you're a fan! ❤️
Could someone tell me the difference between the 17 and 16? Considering buying one
+SaintJames40 The Tacoma TRD Pro is not available in the 2016.
I was not clear. I mean what is the difference between the trd off road 16 and the 16 trd pro
Yes yes yes
Can a 6'4" guy fit in the cab or it's as tight as 2016 TRD sport ?
6'2" and i have no issues
