I ❤ how the yarn turned out. I was really hoping for an oxidized copper colorway. I live in AZ and we’re all about copper and turquoise here. I think it’s gorgeous! Thanks for working with me on the lab partner experience. I loved it. You’re wonderful! Thank you so much.
I always love to see dip-dyeing to break colors! Another round of "Mystery food coloring combinations" would be really fun (whether streamed or not) but you have so much going on it really depends on how easily you can stick that in your schedule (and how much enjoyment that would give you). I think comparing Wilton's Violet and a double-dip in blue and pink is a great way to revisit your "signature" colorway, so that should definitely go on your future video list.
This Spring got so busy didn't it? And then on top of that I got sick twice and had an injury. Whoops! The summer tends to be more easy going... at least I"m hoping it will be once we get through SMSMS.
Stunning! Love the verdigris look of oxidising copper - food colouring is so wonderful to play with, seeing what you can achieve with a limited number of dye molecules.
I would love to see more food color dye techniques again😃 Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your videos. They are exceptionally educational/informative as well fun🥳
The teal and copper colorways bring me home. Very New Mexico. 😆 Merino Style is a lovely yarn. I'm wrapped up right now n a shawl I finished making with it a few weeks ago.
Wilton is washfast, but lightfast I would give a **. Red #3 isn't very light fast, and will fade in direct sunlight especially when wet. I htink the lightfastness scores of food coloring would be lower than a lot of acid dyes, but I still have food coloring dyed hats I wear for over a decade.
I love the copper and teal! I won't get into acid dying (for health considerations and additional equipment needs), but I love watching your food coloring dye videos. Is there any speckling technique for food coloring?
Sure! For food coloring speckles I would either use KoolAid or make some DIY sugar sprinkles. I have videos on both on my channel. (honestly you could also just buy sugar sprinkles, too.)
I charge $30/100 g for a lot of my yarn bases that aren't specifically dyed for planned pooling. for planning pooling you want to make more precise color placement, but I haven't tried this specifically.

I am inspired by "oxidized copper" colourway!

Very fun to revisit these colors. More please! ~Marie
Ha! The glee in your eyes when you anticipated using the Violet to break. Gorgeous!

It really does feel super SW. Merino style is sooo nice, I ordered some more recently so I have it on hand when someone wants a non-SW yarn.
Love seeing yr videos on Wilton and Rit! Is wilton color/light fast and washfast? Thx as always, yr Great!!! 🇨🇦
That’s what I was wondering as well.

Yes more random live streams using food coloring
WOOHOO!
How do you dye yarn for pooling. They charge 30 dollars a hank.
