I've owned three of these in my time, bought and sold as I've left and come back to Australia. They really are fantastic machines. I've been living in Asia for the past 9 months or so, and just wrapped up 7500 kms through Vietnam and Laos and on a very similar 110cc Honda. This type of simple motorcycle is the lifeblood of millions of people in Asia, and no doubt throughout the world. I hope Australia is lucky enough to continue to recieve such an awesome bike. The day I land back in Sydney I will buy another! Great video mate, all the best!
Actually I dild my 3 bike in February because I needed money for medical emergency overseas. I sold my 2007 Yamaha scorpio and then my 2013 Honda cb500f and 2 weeks later I sold my 2017
I sold my 2017 Yamaha xt250. And I am just looking for a simple bike and air cooled and after your video I decided to get one and lucky I found one today and I bought within 30 minutes of it being advertised in Sydney
They're a bike everyone should have. With a lock box installed, you can dash out, park right in front of the shops and grab your necessities. A very comfy riding position on them too.
Ah! A man after my own hear. I enjoy small bikes becuase I can rip around in them wide open and feel like I'm Valentino and not break and laws. I have another mini moto in mind and just need to finish up a few projects in the garage. Great job Matt!
Barkbusters make hand guards for them too ... makes it way better in winter ... gloves don't get as wet and they stay warm ... also makes your bike way easier to spot in a crowded stand.
little hondas are the most fun thing to fang around on ive got the biggest grins on them for years great reliable mischief makers just luv em goodonya cobba cheers
I bought mine second hand for 900$ iv had it since November 2022 it's never let me down the only time I stressed out was locking the steering i didn't have a clue how to unlock it until I found the little magnet on the key thanks to a video maybe you should of mentioned that in your video i use mine to commute from home to my chemist and back 2 or 3 time's a week it's done just on 25kms now iv only changed the oil and adjusted the chain and oiled it you can't get cheaper transport than a 125cc Honda my other bike's an FJR 1300 another very reliable motorcycle'im almost 65 in August so will be keeping them both the only issue iv had with the Yamaha FJR was the ignition switch the barrel wore out it's back in action now and will probably outlive me stay safe and upright love from Australia 🦘🌏
The bit with the headlight looks loke youve blown the headlight and the only thing on is the park light. I ride at night all the time and had the headlight go out and only the park lighg was working. Change your headlight bulb
Your bike is ideal for your type of riding. Trust me, 100klm/h on the Cb125e was a bit of a challenge (Also previous owner used it for motorway travel and it did not end well),
I have a 1998 Yamaha XVS650 .. as well as my CB125e, I will never get rid of that small bike (I am in Australia too) this bike is great, I had to modify it slightly to go on the highway, i am fit and I weigh 65 KG so it does get up to 100... eventually but its fantastic when I dont have a lot of money for fuel, its not a worry at all.
The 185cc kits used to be reasonably priced. Check this site for perfmance parts. They are based in Australia and he has tested his products. www.highoctanecommuting.com.au/shop/2-home
Great little bike and well worth it for the right circumstances! Don’t think I’d like to tour on it though 😂😂😂😂 Glad you moved it on- now yo finish the scooter and get the beast!!!!
It's my first bike with an ixil exhaust, I love it, it's great fun but I seriously wish it had the grunt to get up to speed. It's just not safe to take on the freeway, even going up bad down hills I find myself downshifting 2 gears just to get up the other side. Have you found anything to bump up the performance at all? Obviously it's still a 125 so not a rocket by any means but I feel it should just have a bit more grunt
Check out High Octane commuting channel for performance upgrades of the CB125E. www.youtube.com/@highoctanecommuting3862/videos In all honesty, you would be better off upgrading the bike. If you want more power in a similar looking bike, check out a Royal Enfield Meteor. I will be interested to see how the new CB125F performs.
@@RoadsOfOz Just bought a new 2022 CB125F from Peter Stevens. $3,500 rideaway. They claim 10.7bhp in old speak. I'm coming off 200bhp litre sportbikes for the road and going back to trackdays. Road law penalties are simply ridiculous nowadays. But I still like the road freedom to get out and about in a country living environment. I don't ride in metro areas. To be honest? It handles reasonably well in the twisties once some air pressure has been dropped. Absolute hoot wearing off the rubber from the footpegs in 80KMH corners. Brakes are adequate and it's smooth with amazing fuel efficiency. On flat or very moderate inclines and downhill it's easily capable of 80KMH with a nice flow and with my leathers on I can get my knee down without issues. Absolute hoot! PS* I'm 64 years of age and now at 5'10" @ 100kg's I'm very heavy so I was surprised it can actually haul me around. You should see the P platers on the weekends. I go past them like they are going backwards. These kids shouldn't even be on the roads. LOL Cheers.
It is a Givi Monokey 30 litre. It mounted easily to the bike. If I had my time again, I would go up a Size on top box. When buying one, make sure your helmet fits inside easily.
Maybe a couple. Mine was maxxed out at 105klm/h. Fuel economy was around 3.5 litres per 100 klm. But I am over 100kg. So if you are lighter than me, it should be a bit less.
Oooof it sounds like you might need a few more CCs wink wink nudge nudge lol. I’ve always wondered about these small bikes but I’m pretty sure I would squash it lol
Hi, What mounting did you use for the top box. I have just bought a CB125E and have Givi box from another bike I want to use on it. Thanks for any feedback.
I used the fitting kit supplied the the Givi monokey. I had to drill the rack that is on the back of the Honda CB125E. Once it was bolted on, it was no hassle. Just a tip with the install. Keep the rack far enough back that you can remove the seat.
I found that lack of power helps develop your riding skills as you tend to plan ahead in traffic much better as you do not have the option to power out of a bad situation.
Hello, sorry to bother you here. This is Arrowbin from HSU, one of the most popular action camera accessory brands in the market. Sadly, they are no longer being imported to Australia. People have been snapping up the last of the new ones.

It is a great little bike. I think a lock box on any small bike makes it perfect for inner city commuting and small errand runs.
Looks like a great little change of pace bike…shows that a ride doesn’t need to be a powerful beast to be a fun ride!
💯. Small bikes require a set of skills that help with riding of larger capacity bikes.
It only take from A to B that all it is .
Thank you. I'm relearning to ride after 30 years and I've bought one of these.
Great bike to start on. Also and awesome commuter in town.

I want to get all my projects finished too. look forward to seeing the preogress on your projects as it keeps me motivated to get mine done.
After watching few of your videos about the cb125 I decided to get one and I bought ine today 2015 with 9700km
Congrats on the purchase. They are a very good bike.
i just picked upone for $300 at Auction and it works perfectly. Bulletproof!!
Bargain. These are great little bikes.

Thanks mate. Small bikes have their own fun factor.
Small bikes rock! 🙂 This has much better service intervals than my CB100 has, mine needs an oil change every 1500 miles!
Congratulations on the quick sale. Great video Matt 😎👍🏻
Thanks mate. Really wanted to see you take it for a spin, but sadly not to be.
loving all the reviews and your projects! cant wait to see next projects
Thanks mate. Definitely more project vids coming soon.

I plan to get a bike licence one day and I'm considering the CB125E. I would probably buy one if I see one listed near me in the $1000-1500 range.
Hope you get one. They are a great bike.
Perfect for a cheap and cheerful runabout.
One of the best bikes if you are on a tight budget. Super reliable and parts are very cheap.
They have their place for sure, given the fuel prices etc… with limited travel distances of course. 😉✌️😂
Yeah. My round trip to work was 40 kilometers. If there was anywhere along the way where speeds got above 80, you notice the little bike struggling.
I love my CBE 125,I did have to put in a new starter though
Good one, Matt. I don't think I'd get one......we're a ways from town here. Cheers

Great commuters that do not break the bank. There are times that I miss that little bike.
@@RoadsOfOz lol I only weigh 65KG so to me its a big bike lol I see bikes that are way bigger all the time but I dont need that much power in my life
Love it Matty. Such a great little bike
I have come to enjoy little bikes for what they are. Something I did not appreciate fully until a few years ago.
Have you looked into getting a big bore kit for it?
The Australian bb kit is over $500. I have been trying to find something cheaper overseas
The 185cc kits used to be reasonably priced.

Wife also wants the scooter done. Having multiple projects on the go, I need to pull my finger out.
I like the idea of a small runabout like you have but two bike regos are enough for me mate!
Rego was very cheap for this little bike. But I get what you are saying. The goverment and insutrance companies all ready get enough of our money.
Nice Griso 🙂
I bought the same bike, this time as the Kymco CK125. A little ripper!
They sell these in Australia as well. I did not know they were a similar bike.
Very true on small bikes

Excellent vid 👍🏼 What size top box is that one ?
I think it is 36 litres from memory.

Awesome review Matt. I would love a ZZR600 for my commuter. 😉. I do miss having a smaller bike. I’m thinking a 450 Motard. 👌
The DRZ400SM would be a fun bike.
@@RoadsOfOz I’d love one.
Hey mate, does it cope with few kilometres on the 100 zone?? How many ks per tank should I expect???

Sorry, I do not. But I am sure that you Honda dealer might have.
Awesome !
Thanks!
Hi you still have this bike
Not anymore. It was a great bike though and would recommend them to anyone looking for a daily commuter.
CB Clearly Brilliant........
Absolutley. Very underatted biek here in Australia. But still sell very well.
Thanks dad!
Good video:)
Glad you liked it!

I thought I would not fit on one. Small capacity bikes have their own fun factor that I never understood until recently.
I'm doing uber eats on mine in Perth I'm making 300 a day and getting 450km to a tank and I'm not going easy on the throttle
They have very good fuel consumption that is for sure. Great bike for courier work.

Too dangerous due to a lack of power. Sometimes we need that extra zip to get us out of a situation.
