This has been such a lifesaver for so many people in Florida during hurricane Milton and in so many other places where internet is so important. This was a fantastic review and I can't wait to use my starlink next time we go camping!
How'd ya know that's the exact review I needed right now? I just moved to the Arizona dessert. The exact opposite of where you are. Not much cell here so my hotspot is worthless. Lookin to the Stars for relief.
Great info! I live in the Midwest, and have a Subaru and plan on going camping sometime when I'm not caring for my aging mother. This would come in handy! Thorough review and it would pair nicely with solar panel or a gas generator in the winter (I wonder how small those can go).
Thank you for making this video! I really wanted a good review on the Starlink Mini, as that is a game changing means of communication, and portable communication to the point of off grid is pretty impressive. Couldnt find any reviews on the starlink mini until your video! I think where starlink mini shines is when you are totally off grid, eg camping or travel to remote destinations like the arctic and antartica, where these speeds would be sufficient in places with no connectivity to begin with. This tech also helps saves lives too, with the recent Florida hurricane disaster, and with how starlinks played a crucial role to enable communications and provide aid! Would like to see more of this game changing tech review series too, and if possible would love to see a possible short video on your experience with starlink on Hawaiian Airlines! And if you are in the US, if possible, a review on Tesla FSD, and your opinion on its current state would be awesome too!
Great review. Thank you. Just one thing either you’ve got wrong or I’ve got wrong. At about 5:00 you tried to account for the variation in speed tests by suggesting it has to do with the satellites orbiting around the earth. I’m not 100% sure but I THINK the satellites are shot into a fixed location and stay in the same place in space as the earth revolves and rotates. They’re not like the sun or moon that start out in one place and then move relative to our vantage point. Not sure if I explained that properly. Thanks for this video though. Great.
i think this is a perfect example on how shit this product is in "normal life". the prices are insane for what you get. its just barely usable in areas where its the only option. expanding fiber to rural areas is definitely a better option but longer process. $600 plus $150 a month just to be at the lowest speeds and unlimited.
Not even close to a fan of EM. This said this is a sorta questionable test. Starlink was not made for urban environments. It is meant for rural areas. Vanlife, ect. ok then.
📌💯 Was about to say the same as soon as I saw that it needed constant power rather than it being battery powered. I can see it being used by people going camping or people who live on the road in vans or constantly go to very remote locations like small villages and something but not necessarily for the average use of someone just going about public spaces where you'd essentially have to bring around a power station with you.
@@TheOnlyTapsexactly. Maybe she would have been better off going camping for the weekend and walking us through the process in one stationary location and talking about the experience “in the real world.”
@saulramos79 True. It's definitely still a great review coz she showed various implementations but yeah the day to day on the go audience is not necessarily the direct target audience that will end up using this the most. Can definitely see the outdoor crowd or off grid crowd leaning to it more etc. It's a neat idea tho. Handy device in specific scenarios.
I love Starlink (and SpaceX for that matter). They are amazing pioneers and innovators. They have helped millions of people connect. I hate Elon Musk to my core, but it’d be unjust to dislike the work of many great engineers at Starlink just because they’re associated with him.
Say I live somewhere where fiber can’t be installed and I have no cell service. There are soooo many people like that. Starlink is very helpful for those people, providing connectivity to those who would not get it otherwise through the skies. The Starlink Mini is for adventurers going to these kind of off-the-grid places.
I hate Elon Musk as well, but I’d be robbing the Starlink engineers which worked hard for this very cool, very useful tech of their deserved praise. I hate Elon, not Starlink.
What’s wrong with it. Seems like a great product. Imagine students, businesses and health practitioners using this in remote areas. It can only get better.

how can you be disappointed a satellite dish didn't work inside a train?
Excited to watch this! I’ve been going back and forth on the idea of getting one!!
Looking forward to get my hands on ASAP.

For remote locations with no connectivity, it's a game changer.
However, Inconsistencies in city are a bit more than expected.
Great work as always ✨
Starlink is not meant for big cities where tall buildings block the signal. It’s meant for rural areas.

Don’t get the Starlink Mini for your home. Get the regular Starlink, because the speeds & reliability will be better. Good luck

Starlink needs line of sight of the sky, why would anyone think the train with a roof would work?
Excellent breakdown Jacklyn 👏 very cool system and it will be amazing to see it develop from here.

The real question is would it be reliable enough to use wjere there is no cellular connection at all, sucj as conflict zones, or restricted areas.
Disagree. The website says the unit doesn't get the same speeds as the full unit.
I didn't understand when she referred to a second setting 5g. Or was that without the sa
That was without Starlink as a comparison!
The Starlink is pretty cool, but those are some serious nails 💅.

This is silly. Who actually does this on public transportation and public places?

Yes. Out of all her videos. This was a bit ridiculous. You’re in urban environment, use your cellular.
Ah what?! I tested it in a field too!! Was showing how it fits into multiple scenarios☺️ wanted to see if it was faster than cellular
I understand - just saying. 😊
Solution for the penny pinchers. Don’t need a phone plan or home internet.

Well, the Starlink equipment creates a Wi-Fi network that your phone and other devices will connect to.
