His experience with Page and Plant and Iffy Pop explains a lot about how he treated me when I met him in Morgantown WV. I had been a fan since I was about 14 starting with Big Black and somehow had never seen Albini live till I was 37. I went up to him and blathered and fan boyed over him. The guy coulda laughed at me and made me feel like shit - lord knows he’s got the wit to do it. Instead, he was totally cool about it. He let me finish then said “Thanks man, thanks for saying that I really appreciate it.” I then awkwardly excused myself to hit the bar. TO BILL BRASKY!!!!!!!!!!
NICE! Getting praise from Led Zeppelin has got to be about the HIGHEST possible compliment. I think I saw Page/Plant live touring on this record. Black Crows opened, I think. I have a John Bonham tattoo!
Steve Albini is an amazing mechanical and electrical engineer as well as producer. In fact, “Roland” the “Drum Machine” is in fact the partially reanimated body of the bands original drummer “Roland Carpallio.” hence the staccato and metronomic rytjyms. TO STEVE ALBINI!!!
Enya used to sing for a Motörhead Cover Band before she started working with Albini. Now she sounds like and angel backed by a celestial chorus. TO STEVE ALBINI!!!!
I wonder why Jimmy didn't produce himself? Apart from everything else he's one of the greatest producers, all that Zep stuff still sounds better than a lot of modern stuff
When Kurt Kobain heard the pre-master for what would be Nirvana’s unreleased 5th album, produced by the legendary Steve Albini, it literally blew his mind. TO STEVE ALBINI !!!!!
I wasn't a fan of this album despite being a huge Page/Zep fan. And i think it was because of the recording/mix -- the sound was too organic. Albini likes to capture a raw, natural sound with little overdubbing, which works perfectly for Grunge, but not for the clean Zeppelin sound. There is one exception on the album -- Most High -- which has overdubbing and has a 'cleaner' sound. And it's a great recording.
Interesting they wanted to gauge how you'd do with Robert by sampling your work on female vocals. Robert is one of those guys who pull it off despite having a voice like a bag of cats strangling each other. I always felt girls can sing those songs better than most guys. Find a guy who can do it and that guy will be a star. There's no way you can pull that off and not be, if you're a guy.
At the time, Albini got a lot of shit from the scene for this record. His response was that he was in the business of recording people, not giving endorsements. Also: I NEED to see this picture of Robert Plant hugging a copy of "Songs About Fucking."

That is why he is so good, Robert is huge Low fan. Produced by Albini
I saw Page & Plant on the tour for Walking Into Clarksdale. Great show.
Wow. Amazing to hear about your experience with these two giants of music. thank you Daniel for posting this.
You're welcome RaiBard!

TO BILL BRASKY!!!!!!!!!!
I once watched Bill Brasky use a live rattlesnake as a condom!
Walking into Clarksdale is a fantastic album. Some of the best post-Zep material. If you haven't listened to "Blue Train" do it now.
Luv LUV that song! ✌️
I know I've said it before but these Albini clips are treasure troves.
I can't believe he's gone
Why not? People die every day

I have a John Bonham tattoo!
I saw them when I was two years old... Can´t remember it but I´ll take it anyway 😀

TO STEVE ALBINI!!!
A well grounded an honest guy.
Albini is such a nice dude. Always love to her his spectacular insights.
Enya used to sing for a Motörhead Cover Band before she started working with Albini. Now she sounds like and angel backed by a celestial chorus.
TO STEVE ALBINI!!!!
It’s a really wonderful sounding record.
I wonder why Jimmy didn't produce himself? Apart from everything else he's one of the greatest producers, all that Zep stuff still sounds better than a lot of modern stuff
Produced by Page & Plant, recorded & mixed by Albini.
Great video bro. Your vids do a great job of searching for the deep cuts of rock music history, and no other channel does this.
That's a great record. "Blue Train" is one of their best slow songs.
The irony is that Albini has stated many times in interviews how he got beat up in school because he hated Zeppelin and Boston especially
I don't even believe him
i still love page plant walking into clarksdale both cd and tour
Al Jourgeson still owes hundreds of millions of dollars to Steve Albini for making it OK to thrash to the best of a drum machine.
TO STEVE ALBINI!!!
i saw page plant 4 times twice in 1995 boston twice in 1998 boston mew york the ultimate reunion of the 1990s not the eagles stones who fleetwood mac
Get The LED Out!!
Lep the Zed out 😂
When Kurt Kobain heard the pre-master for what would be Nirvana’s unreleased 5th album, produced by the legendary Steve Albini, it literally blew his mind.
TO STEVE ALBINI !!!!!
Most High has a great hurdy gurdy solo
Fun.

Is that atomizer?
Think he’s talking about Songs About Fucking.

Jimmy Page noticing missed notes? Where do I start?
Don’t even go there, you have no idea what you’re talking about!
Start by keeping your GD dumb@ss mouth shut boy.

Get a grip.
Albini sucked!
