Second only to Mean Joe Greene. No other DT were true DTs. They always played a significant bit on the edge. But one day they'll probably both move down and Aaron Donald will take his place up there.
a b: Mean Joe an Merlin were so versatile! Could play anywhere on the interior. 1.3, or 5 Tech. Randle and Donald R pure 3 Tech, with exceptional power n technique
Rip john teerlinck.. He's a great example of how a position coach can elevate a players game to blossom another level... it's not just talent, it's also pristine coaching. Those two working in unison create success
To be noted, the Honorable Alan Page, fellow Viking DT is known to have 148.5 sacks through play-by-play film review. Unfortunate that sacks weren't officially recorded in his time
The 1st down sack statistic he threw out there is the craziest part to me. You knew watching film he wasn't a 3rd down pass rusher. But putting the numbers there gives it that much more context. He's a beast on any down.
Me too. I’m a Seahawks fan since the 70’s and used to think how lucky the Vikes fans were to have this guy on their team. When he came to Seattle for the last few years of his career I was so damn happy.
Football fun fact. After the Vikings coach Teerlink moved to Indy. I don't think it's a coincidence that he Coached Randle, Freeney and it now looks like Mathis will be in the Hall of Fame. It is crazy how similar Freeney and Randles play style was. Undersized but a non stop motor. RIP Coach Teerlink.
Dude was unbelievably relentless! I love the Bears, but fuck man. He's my favorite player of sll time. He was a modern Deacon Jones. He deserved a Super Bowl, shame he didn't get it.
John Randle and Kurt Warner are the only 2 guys I know who went to the NFL Hall of Fame and were Undrafted..... This is for the modern era, I know there were plenty of HOF players in the early days....
Just so you know...the swastika is an ancient Hindu symbol representing peace and light and goodness. Three thousand plus years later, stupid Nazis had to go and steal it to represent their horrific ideology.
John Randle is one of The Best DT ever to play. Period!!!!
We just got the white version of him in the 4th round

a b: Can’t forget Merlin Olsen too👍🏿
@@Bigload992G sure, but I wouldn't put him above these 2

Incredible coach

Undrafted one man WRECKING crew.
More sacks than any DT in league history
John Randle
1990s All Decade Team
Undrafted also
To be noted, the Honorable Alan Page, fellow Viking DT is known to have 148.5 sacks through play-by-play film review.

The two top DT’s in sacks and they both played for the Vikings
how come nobody talks about this guy. He's like warren sapp. What a great personality.
56 year old Vikings man...my two favorite players are Barry Sanders.........and ....John fkg Randle.....he's amazing ,!!!!?!

Beautiful words from hardworking folks. Skol Vikes from So Cal

My All Time Favorite Defensive Player 💯💯 He Was A Sleeper
John Randle! Man🤦🏻♂️
I’d have to find him a spot on my all time team. His game was something special.
John Randle=GOAT of defensive tackles! He was FUN to watch!
Always been a huge John Randle, fan....
My favorite Minnesota Vikings of all time.I wear his jersey proudly!!!
"Regulators mount up" !
rip John Teerlinck
JR had it all. The Warrior paint instilled fear, the moves and motor backed it up.
Big dogs are in the hooooooooouuuuuusssee! Best part about the video.
And then told Owens to stop waving cause the game's not over...dude was a fighting pitbull with no leash...awesome.
*edit that eas during the Night Rider craziness.
One of a kind.
One of a kind
If it wasn't for him,
Favre would a had at least 3 more superb owls. And Aikman probably 2 more. Steve Young who knows how many.
Imagine if Doleman hadn't been traded to the Falcons in 1995
And people think Donald is the best all-time...Randle and Page were better.
One of, if not the biggest, mistakes the Vikings ever made was passing on Warren sapp. A sapp and Randle combination is like having 2 Aaron Donald’s.
John Randle and Kurt Warner are the only 2 guys I know who went to the NFL Hall of Fame and were Undrafted..... This is for the modern era, I know there were plenty of HOF players in the early days....
14 total all time.
My all time favorite player had a Nonstop motor.
That commercial where he's chasing that chicken
LOL
My brother was better than me -John Randle
The pride of Hearne, TX! Ervin was good. I grew up in the town next door, Calvert.
moving...
I wonder what John Randle would have been like if he played beside Alan Page…
Randle was scary to see playing my Favre..
Shroom 🐓 sexter.
Who better than #93
Randall admitted that Larry Allen of the Dallas Cowboys pretty much owned him. That was the only Offensive lineman that could dominate JR.
NOBODY.
Wish Randle would have got the sack record instead of strahan
The Energizer Bunny was introduced in 1988.
I can't believe my sorry ass Bucs had his brother and wouldn't even give John a chance.
3:39 is that a swastika?
Where?

@@BeefheartLynch I do know that lol
Im indian
I like Aaron Donald but he’s not there yet
Too bad all that didnt rub off on his defensive buddies....
you mean guys like Henry Thomas , Chris Doleman funny idiot
Smooth Operator facts
Just imagined if we drafted Warren Sapp instead of Derrick Alexander in the 95 draft. Sapp and Randle would have been hell for offensive linemen
Smooth Operator: Chris Doleman(HOF) Keith Millard(DPOY)🤔
tim allen: Talkin out his A$$🤣
