The red velvet is also my number 1, but I'm also a massive fan of the polka dot shirt that was briefly in Kill the Moon when he wasn't wearing his spacesuit. The Lie of the Land is another favourite, I really love the grey coat.
Hey Dom. Not gonna lie, I clicked on this video as soon as I saw it in my notifications from subscribers! Never clicked so fast! 🤣 But would have to say for my top 10 Twelve looks would say: 10- The Return of Doctor Mysterio red velvet, burgundy jumper and ink hoodie look 9- The Robot of Sherwood look 8- The Return of Doctor Mysterio black velvet crombie, white shirt and waistcoat look 7- The Lie of the Land black velvet crombie, holes jumper and hoodie look near the end. 6- The Listen navy crombie and jumper look. 5- The Time Heist look 4- The Extremis red velvet, hoodie and holey jumper look 3- The Last Christmas holey jumper, hoodie and navy crombie look 2- The red velvet look 1- The Flatline white shirt, waistcoat and navy crombie look.
I have an interesting relationship with The Twelfth Doctor, while he is my favorite, it took me longer to like him over the previous incarnations. This also meant with his outfit. But when I began seeing how his outfits and some of the meaning behind them, I fell in love. His tenure opened my eyes fashion wise. Among my favorite looks are: World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls Look It combines the classic elements of his outfit with the navy velvet, and unbuttoned cuffs (I started wearing my shirt cuffs unbuttoned, after noticing Martin Smith in the Delirious? Gravity music video.) The Polka Dot Shirt Sadly, this look has less than five minutes of screen time (Kill the Moon,) but aside from loving prints, this particular print has a nice detail to it. The Jumper Look This one was one of the ones I did not like for a while, but grew on me. It isn't only the holes, but the collar, and how the cuffs almost resemble fingerless gloves (this detail is most evident in In The Forest of the Night. At the time, I was teaching myself how to knit, and those details caught my eye. The Purple Shirt Look I cannot say much more than what you said. It simply looks amazing. The Red Sweater Look A very quick look in The Return of Doctor Mysterio that needed more exposure The Dark Water/Death in Heaven Look Aside from it being the iconic look, for me, the Idiot in a Box moment changed my perception of liking this incarnation. Upon learning how the outfit was inspired by David Bowie made me appreciate it more. Red Velvet Coat Look I admit I prefer the navy velvet coat due to the red lining being more visible, but the red coat looks much more elegant.
Good list, if there were honourable mentions for the list I would have picked: 1. The ladder jumper, red hoodie, black velvet frock coat from The Pilot/Smile 2. The crombie coat and Paul Smith holey jumper from Listen/In the Forest of the Night 3. Series 8 smart look with waistcoat Dark Waters/Death In Heaven 4. The black tie/cravat look from Mummy on the Orient Express/Husbands of River Song
Good video Dom, my personal fave Capaldi look is black boots, black trousers white shirt, dark waistcoat, dark hoody and black jacket with the blue lining
My favourite look is the velvet too! But I also adore his hoodie look. You would imagine Tennant or Matt to wear that instead because they were younger Doctors but Capaldi rocked the look!!
The Red Velvet outfit is also my favourite :D. It is the look I've recreated in genderbend lolita form for myself and it is the outfit of my custom made ball jointed 12th Doctor. Little Twelve seems very happy with it :)
Wonderful video. :) it's a tie for me as I wouldn't dare pick a fav from the original look, the Last Christmas look, The red velvet look. I am attached emotionally to the 3 of them to the same degree. :)
My fave has got to be the look he wore for Series 10 promotional shoots and briefly in Empress of Mars. I like the Doctor having some blue in his outfit. It's a shame the whole look wasn't seen more often in the Capaldi era. Here's hoping for the 60th?
Personally, I adore his Time Heist look the most. Everything about it: the hair, the way the blue shirt works against his coat. To me just the perfect outfit for 12. Followed by his robots of sherwood look. Was never really a fan of his series 9 redesign with the pants and stuff.
The twice upon a time was my favorite look and I’m happy that was what he ended off with Also I never noticed the changes of blue and reds because I’m color blind it always looked like he was wearing black
I hated the hoodie look, it always looked like Capaldi was rehearsing out of costume and they filmed it. When he combined the hoodie with the invisible tie white shirt that was nice. But red velvet all the way
Fun fact: Steven Moffat said that Clara burnt the Doctor's cardigan.
Either she really didn't like it, or he forgot it in her apartment just before "Kill the Moon"
The red velvet is also my number 1, but I'm also a massive fan of the polka dot shirt that was briefly in Kill the Moon when he wasn't wearing his spacesuit. The Lie of the Land is another favourite, I really love the grey coat.
I really like the "Kill the moon" look too !
Layton Mathieson I suspect that polka dot shirt was his, like the holey jumper.

Can you do a video on your own updated versions of the 12th doctor's outfits and talk about were you got the items to cosplay them
Brilliant choice!! Couldn't agree more!!! :D

My personal favorite is the "Magicians Apprentice" look.
Good review and love 12 doctor and he has so many costumes lol
My favourite has to be the lie of the land look. It's just so... doctory...
Me too ^^
Brilliant videos. You should make more Top 10 Variants videos.
My favourite is "the lie of the land" look. I wish we had a purple version

LOVE!!
You are 100% correct, as always 💜
Thank you so much dear!! 💜
Wish I could my hands on the Paul Smith holey jumper.
The Magician's Apprentice , Robot of Sherwood and the Holes looks are great :) , Awesome Video hugs :)
Kind out of character to wear a tie but the looks from Orient Express and Thin Ice are great me, maybe just cause they stand out?
I like all his looks because they look like clothes, not costumes.
Wonderful video. :) it's a tie for me as I wouldn't dare pick a fav from the original look, the Last Christmas look, The red velvet look. I am attached emotionally to the 3 of them to the same degree. :)

Great choices. I would have to agree that the red velvet is best.

Where did you get your grey linen coat ? (You're wearing it at the beginning of the video)
He actually wore a very McGann eques Green velvet coat in The pilot. Which is one of my favorites
No, it’s definitely a black velvet coat. I have seen the material up close and I own an official replica. 😁
@@WhoChaser Fair enough. You clearly know more than me. though I think it would've been really cool to see a Dark green velvet coat.
The twice upon a time was my favorite look and I’m happy that was what he ended off with
Also I never noticed the changes of blue and reds because I’m color blind it always looked like he was wearing black
I'm a frock coat short of the Robot of Sherwood look,
does anyone know where i can find one for cheap?
The Twelfth Doctor(TM): Art Deco meets Punk Rock
I heard your doctor who deaths video got copyright claimed
It did, BBC are a lot more stringent on DW footage being used in YT videos these days, which is a shame.
Just re upload it using stills
I hated the hoodie look, it always looked like Capaldi was rehearsing out of costume and they filmed it. When he combined the hoodie with the invisible tie white shirt that was nice. But red velvet all the way
hisa old suit was better. then he went scruffy and weird
