Which Anime openings or other stuff should I check out next?
Kimagure Orange Road is good. Bubblegum Crisis also has many great songs such as: Thrill ni Odoru Angel Tachi, Victory, Crisis Ikariwo Komete Hashire, and Ashita e Touchdown, and Konya wa Hurricane.
Check out the openings for the Saint Seiya Spin-offs. You have The Lost Canvas, Soul of Gold and Saintia Sho, all with 1 opening each, and Saint Seiya Omega with 4 openings
@@pickmonkaiserSecond this, the ops from the spin-off are preatty good as well.
Totally agree!!@@pickmonkaiser
Saint seiya lost canvas, Saint seiya omega and Knights of the zodiac, to keep the theme
Saint Seiya is one of my favorite animes. The Hades saga is impeccable and many tears.
Kurumada was the popular mangaka in the Shonen Jump of the 70s (with Ring ni kakero, a manga about boxing) who greatly helped the magazine to become number 1 before Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya was another hit in the 80s. He has invented the main formula for Shonen Nekketsu with power scales, attacks,...
The characters are wearing armors, nothing is linked to technology but more to Greek Mythology, legends.
Very popular in Europe and France, in my generation, it was even equal to Dragon Ball but it was forbidden on tv because of its gore.
It's a shonen but with lot of very dark themes, mythology, poetry. Very popular among girls too.
I would say it has very high values on self-sacrifice and courage.
Some characters have incredible character growth and ennemies have their reasons and background and you will deeply regret the death of some of them. Everybody will cry at some point in this anime.
In summary, it is a kind of Game of Thrones, with characters you hate at first or misunderstand and lots, lots of blood and characters dying.
Sorry to correct but not actual armor they were cloth armor instead as they called Bronze cloth. Since only a few episodes were aired here in the US so, the other cloths that appeared. Were the Black bronze, Silver, Steel and Gold. These were just from one full season which ended at the Sanctuary.
The second opening theme is sung by Kageyama Hironobu, who also sings the opening themes for Dengeki Sentai Changeman, Hikari Sentai Maskman, Chojin Sentai Jetman, and Dragon Ball Z.
Hironobu Kageyama is a legend.
funny thing is this anime was extremely popular all over the world exept in North America, all because the publisher cersored it to be more "kid friendly" (the fight are very bloody) and as a result it got ignored quickly. But in Japan, Europe and South America it has cult status, many a late Gen-X and millenial turned into anime fans because of Saint Seiya.
México is North America
@@ZimZum4ever you are right, terribly sorry
Actually Saint Seiya was aired here in the US but just a few episodes were released.
@@RafaelMelo-u4y yes, they changed the theme songs cut out pieces of episodes for being too violent and turned the blodd blue...
Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac is one of my favorites that I only discovered last year. Thanks for the reaction. Saint Seiya is like Power Rangers with the power of Greek mythology. The basic premise is every few hundred years Athena and her knights (saints) are reincarnated to do battle against evil gods like Poseidon and Hades who want to take over or destroy the Earth. The saints fight using the power of their cosmo (think ki) with each saint's power being themed after a constellation and enhanced by their unique armor (cloth). Our main hero Seiya for example has the power of the pegasus with his meteor punch. He doesn't actually turn into the animal. The switching back and forth between the two images is just an effective visual way of getting his power across. There are different rankings of saints: bronze - our hero and his friends, silver - the majority of saints, and gold - the 12 elite who make up The Knights of the Zodiac. The original show is currently on Crunchyroll while the OVAs that make up the final story arc, Hades, can be found on both Tubi and Pluto TV.
Sorry to inform but the Knight of the Zodiac is completely different story line, then from Saint Seiya. And the only one reincarnated was Athena herself in the baby not her saints. For Seiya the reason why the Pegasus image appears behind him. Is because when he is moving hands following every star in Pegasus constellation. If anyone want to see the original in Japanese with eng sub there are many sites that show all seasons.
Fun fact: the singer of the first Saint Seiya op also sang the Goseiger op
Also fun fact, opening 2 Soldier Dream is the same singer that did DB's Cha-La Head Cha-La
And Boukenger
Latinos rise up!!!!
*Emerge de la nada*
This and Chespirito are absolute for us.
Presente desde Colombia

Aye!
Probably one of the best shonen anime to perfect the long winding battle arcs and tournament arcs, only rivaled by Dragon Ball.
Summary: Saint Seiya is the 80s God of War. Best OST of all anime. Watch it all, but not the censored anime, you will lose all the GORE.
Saint Seiya is a pretty huge franchise. Basically it follow a group of young teenage boys (yes even the green haired one with the pink armor) that have power over the constellations and are in service to the reincarnation of the Greek goddess Athena in a battle against the other Greek gods.
Other shows in the series include the following:
Saint Seiya Omega (A sequel but following a different storyline from the actual sequel Saint Seiya: Next Dimension.)
Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold (A completely anime original series)
Knights of the Zodiac (Netflix adaptation that got backlash for making Shun a girl, which changes the lore drastically, especially in regards to Shaina's mask. Still pretty good with season 3 confirmed this year.)
The Lost Canvas (Prequel series to the original, can be watched without seeing the first series.)
Saintia Shō (Saint Seiya but genderswapped. Athena is still a girl though.)
They also had movies of which we have had seven so far.
Evil Goddess Eris (1987)
The Heated Battle of the Gods (1988)
Legend of Crimson Youth (1988)
Warriors of the Final Holy Battle (1989)
Heaven Chapter - Overture (2004, and the only canon movie taking place after the Hades arc.)
Legend of Sanctuary (2014)
Knights of the Zodiac (2023 live action adaptation that sadly bombed grossing 7 million on a 60 million budget.)
Note that this only lists on screen works and not any of the manga exclusive stuff.
Saintia Shō (Saint Seiya but genderswapped. Athena is still a girl though.).........WRONG, the girls are like the royal guard of athena they are allways with her, meanwhile the guys we know are like soldiers or more like body guards
@@ignaciocambero9314 To be fair it's the only one I haven't seen yet (besides a few movies) and I was just going by what I was told.
@@calebgoodman3028 Saintia Sho manga is definitely worth your time if you like the other spin offs. It's what got me into the franchise.
In fact, Saint Seiya's live action didn't cost 60 million, one of the countries that were going to finance the film was China, but because of the pandemic this no longer happened, so it was confirmed by one of the producers that the movie's value was well below 60 million
@@daisyu.58 After looking more into it I have to agree. Most of the sources say 60M but the producer implies this being the budget for multiple films and not just one.
Saint Seiya is definitely a part of my childhood. It wasnt that famous or popular in the US, but its absolutely popular in latin america. I watched majority of the series when i go on vacation to Ecuador from time to time.
The plot is basically these knights known as Saints who are the protectors of Earth and the guardians of the goddess Athena against threats like Hades, Poseidon, Zeus, Apollo, etc from conquering the universe/multiverse. Each Saints are part of the 88 constellations of the stars. The main protagonists are the Pegasus, Dragon, Cygnus, Andromeda, and Phoenix Saints.
Theres more series to Saint Seiya that you should watch the openings for like Omega, Soul of Gold, Lost Canvas, and Saintia Sho
The Second opening: "soldier dream" is sung by Hironobu Kageyama , same dude who sang the first DBZ opening "Cha la head chala" in japanese
Trust me, it's nothing like power rangers. As of today, Pegasus Fantasy still hits hard.
Believe me, it looks very similar AND IT IS OFFICIAL BASED ON SENTAI : V in part... a group of heros unique colors, transformations, but it mixes it with male shoujo and shonen and warriors, instead of superheroes, in addition to epic crudeness ALTHOUGH THIS ALSO OCCURS IN SENTAI AND POWER RANGER with their obvious difference in violence, since they are products for different purposes and it is unnecessary to explain . But even if it hurts, remember, they even had a secret base during the plats saints saga... even they have their 6th ranger, although here he is 5th, however Ikki and the first green sentai 6th debuted almost at the same time.
@@lionidasojosnegros Not exactly based on sentai... it's more like, inspired by the idea of a sentai. Kurumada saw all that Sentai and Manga/Anime where the characters transformed to fight and came with the idea of the clothes. The clothes first designs (in manga) where hugely inspired by mecha anime and manga like Gundam and Mazinger, mixed with real armor pieces ideas like diadems.
@@lionidasojosnegros Also, Ikki came way before (1986 or 87) than Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (1992)
@@lionidasojosnegros 1) there are no "henshin" 2) there are no aliens, mechs or whatsover technological instruments 3) the colors are an anime liberty by Shingo Araki and the staff that worked on it, in the manga armors are mostly monochromatic (the bronze ones have different colors but never more than one) 4) they do not become fighters through magic or technology, they either born destined to be knights or train hard for years to become one 5) steel knights and the scientific base too are anime-only add-ons to appeal the viewers infatued with the mecha genre 6) there is little to nothing about daily life, society and so on and there are no "secret identities" to keep 7) many of the mentioned elements have been developed by the author from his previous works, known to have given a great contribution to make Shonen Jump sell and prosper like never before
Such a legendary series. It's kinda unknown in the US but it was one of the classics of the 80's and made so many tropes popular that are common nowadays. Many authors are inspired by this series like the authors of Bleach, Hunter x Hunter and others.
It has a lot of spinoffs going on until today (mostly in manga) and the third season of the 3DCGI remake just released. (The 1st season is bad and changes a lot of things but it's fine now)
Actually Saint Seiya was aired here in the US but only a few episodes were released.
there are more series you can check out the openings for. They are saint seiya Lost canvas, saint seiya soul of gold, and saint seiya omega.
There's also Saintia Sho
Just to correct the only series that follows Saint Seiya is just the Soul of Gold. Because Lost Canvas and Omega are both different story and timeline. But in order to understand Soul of Gold you need first to watch the Hades arc.
Saint Seiya was on Shonen Jump and Dragonball's ONLY major competition back in the day, before the anime adaptations. GREAT series. Manga released in 1986 if I am not mistaken, way older than power rangers. Probably inspired them honestly.
Nice reaction btw :)
God, this anime is amazing both openings and endings feel so good
Saint seiya ❤❤❤❤
The plot of this anime is that every 300 years the goddess Athena reincarnates in the world to defend it from the gods who want to take over the planet by eliminating humans and to help them she has her knights (called saints) who are divided into three categories, bronze, silver and gold, each knight is represented by a constellation
To sum up about this in easy way
"Human(?) vs god to protect love and peace........."
The first two openings are from the original series. The third and fourth are from OVA, which adapts the final arc of the manga, The OVA took many years before all episodes were released. The last opening has many visual variations, which change as the heroes progress through "underworld". I think it has quite different feeling than power rangers. It's quite bloody at some points. It has great characters imho. It's very mythos heavy series.
Saints are young men, who fight to protect humanity under the goddess Athena, who in cycles reincarnates. Athena is not fond of weapons, therefore Saints fight mostly with their bare hands. She has also more positive view of humanity, than other gods. By mastering cosmo (ki/cchi), they posses superhuman strenght and speed (at the beginning Seiya's meteor punch is just hitting speed of sound). Each saint is also in a sense bound to certain destiny related to his constellation by which represented (the power is related to stars and big bang). There are 88 saints. Each has unique armor known as cloth designed according to the star constellation (pegasus, cygnus, bear, etc). Seiya is one of orphaned children, who were sent to various locations to became saints.
I said Saints are young men. It is not entirely accurate. Females can join ranks of Saints, but they have to give up their womanhood by covering their faces with mask. Anime adds some filler episode and one filler arc after the first part of the series. There are things I like more in the anime, other things make more sense as they are made in manga.
one point, Cosmo =/= Ki or Chi, cosmo is infinite, which Ki in turn is limited and ends, DB among other animes have already shown this well.
Actually the first two op lead to the end of the anime. After that are from the last arc which is focused on the God of Death Hades.
Bro the series and story is just as peak.
Losely based in greek mythology and their armors (cloths), are based on the constelations.
Makes more sense when you know is also called knights of the zodiac.
React to The lost canvas and saint seiya omega ops too, please
3rd opening is slow because that's the part of the story when all the fan favorite characters die, aome even twice!
yes I was the one who recommended it
Jay, it was me that recommendded you the Saint Seiya OPs, but the ones you watched are not all of them. You can see the complete ones (so far) here.
ua-cam.com/play/PL03FN3i4wnl0lNOAJwuk4C9lU4muTyhkM.html&si=IfkCRb9f5UKyumCm
I hope you can do the rest of them that you haven't already. Thanks.
Thank you for reacting!! This anime is very good and was part of my childhood.
I recommend that you react to the openings of the spin-offs of this anime, they're awesome:
- Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas (I also recommend you react to the ending too "Hana No Kusari" full amv) is awesome
- Saint Seiya Omega
Actually both Lost Canvas and Omega are two completely different story and timeline.
Saint Seiya has some of the best ost in history of anime. One of them (Under the wood of the world tree) will be played during my funerals. Not tomorrow I hope.😂
Finally ❤
Anime is about mythology and constellations
Pretty dope imo
This anime has the best music in all anime !
You should hear the openings of Saint Seiya's spin offs, Saintia Sho and Soul of Gold's openings are my favorites
Nothing like power rangers!!!!!!! Saint seiya is one of the best anime of all times
Every millennial latino just started getting nostalgia watching this lol
W video, I recommend you to react to Yu Yu Hakusho opening+endings cuz they all are peak (in japanese ofc)
Anime recomendado, esta bueno
What a nostalgic anime
north america butchered the anime, that's why it never got as popular like in latin american countries where we got the uncensored version with all it's blood and glory
You missed 2 openings, the second and the final have 2 variants, and the 2 firts were in the 80s, the third and fourth were in 00s
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Do saint Seiya spin offs!😆
React openings Katekyo ritman reborn pls
I gotta see how big the copyright is for that.
Why every westerner see powe rangers vibes in saint seiya?.Believe me kid saint seiya is nothing like power rangers at all.😊
Os cavaleiros dos zodíaco 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
valia muito apena reagir a um ou dois episodios
Que curioso que, un bonito recuerdo te haga un nudo en la garganta.
It's time to check out Brave Robots my friend!
Better question is, why is power ranger that.
(but really the show has nothing to do with power ranger. It's really more of a studio decision to color coded their armor to make them look like super sentai.
It's actually a shonen anime like Naruto... In fact, saint seyia invented the "group of powerfull ennemy that the hero friends have to defeat to finaly face the boss at the end" and Oh lord do saint seyia did it best.
you miss some openings from other spin offs
Power Rangers has Saint Seiya vibes…
I wonder if I should recommend Battle B-Daman
If you do check it out, then I recommend the DUB version
És The Last One say: forever Saint Seiya
You should react to the show original or Netflix reboot
Where's Asgard chapter opening?
*Smiles in Latino*
Los opening se disfruta mejor en latino o en inglés saludos
Reaction to Saint seiya Omega is secuela
BRAZIL

You hace to watch this
Power Rangers? Saint Seiya has absolutely nothing to do with Power Rangers. Why does the entire English-speaking audience keep making this same misconception? Saint Seiya stands as the most influential shonen anime of all time, period. It established the foundation of the genre that continues to shape it today, including storytelling divided into arcs, power scaling, power level progression, and more. Every shonen anime that succeeded Saint Seiya is directly or indirectly influenced by its legacy. I find it baffling that English-speaking anime fans haven't heard of such an important and influential series like Saint Seiya. While I may not have watched Ultraman or Astroboy, I recognize their legacy and significance, just as with Saint Seiya. Without this anime, the shonen genre wouldn't be what it is today
To be fair, Kurumada was working off the template set by Shotaro Ishinomori with Cyborg 009 and Sentai, the latter which was adapted into Power Rangers, so the comparison is kind of unavoidable.
No pareces gringo
Even if you wanted to watch this anime completely you could only watch it Japanese sub English or Latino sub English. There’s no English dub as it crashed and burned only dubbed like 60 episodes.
