I think it's easy to know what the right thing to do is, how you should approach life, it's much harder to follow that path. Giving advice isn't just about saying the right thing, it's about when you say it, giving someone the nudge onto that path and make them willing to follow it.

At 1:07 did Bocchi say "onee-san" or something else? Because the subs say "you mean...". Considering Kikuri's letting Bocchi in on her past during her pep talk, I don't know why Bocchi would be so formal if she's that close with her at this point.
Bocchi does call Kikuri onee-chan. She looks up to her as a mentor and there's a bit of an age difference between them, but it doesn't sound that formal to me.
I think that’s an attempt at localization, as she’s technically referring to her as “big sister”. That’s an odd thing to do in English, and it’d be weird to put her name there when the sound doesn’t match. So they went with something that fits the flow of the conversation without being confusing.
@@thelegendaryklobb2879 Thank you for clarifying, though I did understand that. I only meant that localizing that can be tricky, as I don't think there's an equivalent you can simply use in English. I've been meaning to look into how the word gets used outside of actual sisters, and your explanation is helpful for that, so thank you a second time.
Yeah. I still think, and what I meant to say, was Bocchi saying onee-san still sounds a bit out of place in a conversation like that. I prefer what the subs said or something like "oh...".
I know I said this before, but why did Bocchi say "onee-san" at 1:07? It doesn't sound right considering Kikuri's bonding with her. I think Bocchi should've said something else or gasped softly.
Maybe they're using it in a slang term and not its actual definition? In a way to represent a senpai and also one that's in the same industry, also how they have a similar past but kikuri uses alcohol to get past her introvert tendencies

She is the living embodiment of, "My liver can handle what my heart cannot."
What?
Kikuri is so great. Easily one of my favorite characters.
kikuri is basically that person who comes up with the best advice ever even though their own life is a complete mess
They know how bad life can get, so they try to stop others from going down their same route.

even the sound engineer onee-chan from Starry (the goth one with piercings, does she have a name?) who barely have screentime is memorable and fun.

Either those walls are cheap or she punched really hard.
If you've been to a rock club (double for a punk rock space) you know it's the former.
Really hard. I think that bit of red is blood on the wall.
