Its one of those things like ppl remaking duke nukem game you do for love of the art. Not because its easy or cheap or makes sense. But to dedicate oneself to a specific task is honorable
Amazing work man. you are a great inspiration for many people. i recently revisited this animation because of a youtuber who covers lost media like this one.
Don't be too hard on yourselves over it; even the original team for this movie couldn't finish it, so it's amazing you guys got as far as you already did!
I really like this ending, the antihero and hero stand off before the antihero just accepts its over and walks away, something poignant about it I can’t explain
@@chaserafterisback8226 (The golden balls have returned to the minaret, and a wedding ceremony starts. We see the THE END title made out of gold. The thief walks in and snatches the letters of the end title and grabs the whole movie! He puts the movie in his pocket, looks at us viewers and runs off)
I mean it's unreasonable to ask of anyone to finish such a complicated and intricate film in a snap. Even a full fledged animation studio would find it difficult

Very glad with computers nowadays for making animation easier if you still wanna do it all drawn frame by frame, with the undo and redo buttons. As a mouse artist myself it's like that. Even though it's technically cheating
It's not cheating as long as you actually animate it. I think anything slower than 6fps can't really be said as animation, at that point it would be a clip show, and that's fine in its own right. Right now I'm doing a anamatic music video, but it's certainly not animation. I miss the original hand drawn and colored ways of animation, I 100% do, but the digital art scene has absolutely speed tracked animation makeing it easier than ever. This movie I firmly believe would never be finished if it wasn't finisher digitally, if at all now.
I want to add that even if I takes 100 years from the start of production, if the animation is finished it'd be worth it. This vision was such a great undertaking and full of artistic merit that finishing it without changing art styles would be a monumental step for humanity in its self. The Mona Lisa may be beautiful, but we have reached artistic merit that some may say surpass Da Vinci. But animation no matter what is incredibly time consuming, and just the effort thus far is a great massive step taken. Even if it's beyond my lifetime, I desperately want this movie to be fully animated, if only to be complete and for humanity to have
If you actually manage to finish this movie, you will be one of the greatest heroes in animation history.
It might take a hundred years for that to happen. Oh so i believe
@@sudokuacrobatics not again! no recobbled recobbled please
I take it that the call for animators didn't go down well.

Don’t beat yourselves up about it, it’s hard work trying to finish a film like this. Take all the time ya need.
take thirty years if you have to
Make this for a hundred years, damn any wars, nuclear explosions, natural disasters.
Because this movie shall not die, until it is finished!

When you see the final scenes it makes sense to be too tired to finish it!
It's taken several decades already, what harm is a few more gonna do?
"WHAT'S 15 MORE YEARS?"

Does anyone agree with me when I say that Richard could have been the Walt Disney of the 60s, 70s and 80s?
Don't give up! Mr. Garrett!
Where did this came from?
One of Richard Williams' pencil test tapes.
Y'all are taking this too seriously
Yeah, I bet you are.😄
