    I don't know how many times I've driven/ridden past the Falls carpark and thought "I must do the Brewster track". But I never did and now never will. Great video, as usual!

      Embarrassingly enough, we didn't even realise there was a glacier nearby 😑. The weather was probably too poor to go find it regardless, but after we found out we really wanted to make another trip, but the timing never lined up

    Holy elevation! Despite the ordinary weather you’ve made (yet another) beautiful record of the walk. Amazing scenery once again. Thanks so much for continuing to share your walks-we love them!

      Thank you for continuing to watch them Alan! Really appreciate the continued support
      When everyone got to the hut, they said: "Did everyone else find that a lot harder than they thought it would be?" 😅
      Can't underestimate that 2.5 km!

      Love hiking in the fog, even if it obscures the views! Thanks for watching Angelica

    Great post - captured the forest’s beautiful fabric and colour perfectly. Could you share what camera gear you are using. Thks

      Thank you! 🙏
      We always use a GoPro as a secondary camera, it's useful for the walking shots, talking to the camera and when it's really wet out. The main camera we used in this video was Panasonic G9 with 12-60 f2.8-4 lens. We've since upgraded to the Panasonic GH6

    I used to live in Haast so have been to the old and new Brewster Hut many times. You missed out on the full view and seeing Tititea but it means you just might have to go back there.

      We're heading to Haast in October for the long weekend, can you recommend any good tramps/walks in the area?
      We'll be doing Welcome Flat Hut a few weekends before

    Love the videos. Noticed Danya has been using the waist bag for a while now. Was wondering what the brand was and how well it works?

    • @ChrisandDanya
      @ChrisandDanya  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching Matthew! 🙏
      We don't have pockets on our hip belts, so we find the waist bags are really useful. Even if we did have hip belt pockets, I think we'd still use the waist bags, as they fit so much more.
      The brand is Waymark Gear Co, a cottage company from the USA. However, you can definitely find something locally for much cheaper with similar build quality/size

      We love hiking in the fog, but we were expecting blue skies haha. The fog/clouds made it all very dramatic though!

    what time of the year was that? We will be hiking this in Late November, would that be a good time?

    • @ChrisandDanya
      @ChrisandDanya  Рік тому

      We did this in mid December 2021. I think it'll be fine in late November. The area is known for how much rain it gets, so the chances of getting wet are high.
      Hopefully you get good weather and have the chance to explore the actual glacier! One of the only regrets we have of our time in NZ, is not going back and exploring that glacier

    • @mariawasnick5472

      @ChrisandDanya  6 місяців тому

      I think you definitely could! It's very steep but you are only going a short distance. Definitely worth staying at the hut and exploring the glacier though! Wish we did that when we were there

      We've been doing as many hikes as we can, but we didn't make it out to Jackson Bay unfortunately.
      We did all the trails in Fox Glacier and now we're in Franz Joseph area for a couple weeks
