There was a guy at my high school that had one. It was in rough shape but I always liked the wing. You could climb up and sit on it . It was that strong. He has 4 of them now. It was kinda cool to build something I had given up on from the past. Thanks for watching John. Seeing the General Was very Cool. Never thought I would see that kit built on UA-cam.
Great looking build Mike always like the Superbird nice color you went with always this time of year when the car starts to play up bills we can do without coming up to Christmas hope you get it sorted mum's coming right kids get the hose cleaned lol have a great weekend Mike 👍👍
Hey man the Superbird looks awesome. I remember back in the day painting one model with the plastic Testors airbrush. It came with a can of propellant. Engineering has made it ridiculous on automotive repairs. That's a lot of labor cost. Hats off to you for tackling it yourself.
Yes...it used the can propelling. I don't remember how many cans I used before I broke down and bought a real airbrush and compressor? I can't believe they put the damn pump behind the timing chain???? Thanks for watching
Beautiful superbird Mike, love the blue paint. An intentional curbside 😮hope the water pump repair works out. I suspect the 5-6k cost due to the labor to remove everything to get to the issue.
Nice Superbird, We have a 2016 Explorer with the 3.5. Had the same problem last year, fixed it myself, took me two full days, just looked up the video I used for reference, his channel is C.L.S.All-IN-ONE. Highly recommend this guy, very thorough. Hope this helps.
Love it mike bro. u know i love this car I still have the one you sent me to build I do plan on doing it soon but yeah have fun with your mums visit too bro sorry to hear truck is still down and out I guess you would be best of getting something newer at those prices to fix it. but hope you sort it soon, 👍👍awsome superbird bro. 👍
It's a old kit. The one I sent is a much better kit. I'll fix the Edge myself. Parts are about 450. The dang water pump is behind the timing chain??? What was Ford thinking??? Thanks for watching Keith
Great looking Plymouth! I hear ya on the way cars are designed now. The Ford 5.0 V8 has the starter and on some the alternator under the intake in the valley. Makes it super difficult for the home mechanic to do repairs and super expensive to take it to a repair shop. Hope you get it worked out.
I'm glad you like the bird. I just can't believe they put it behind the timing chain??? It will take some time I'll get her done. Thanks goodness for UA-cam videos that walk you through it. Thanks for watching
Looks Mike 👍😎. Water pump sounds a bad design for maintenance. I'm sorry to hear about that especially at this time of year. Good luck with it and hope you can fix it.👍🤞🤔. Best wishes from jolly old England👍😎 Pete 🤓
I have no clue what the Ford engineers were thinking putting the water pump behind the timing chain???? Glad you like the Superbird. Thanks for watching Pete
@michaelhintzmikesminiature1812 They want you to be put off from attempting the repair and will, cheerfully,😀. take it to your local ,friendly car dealer😁. And pay them loads of money😋.
Looks great, nicely done! Funny you mention the brittle plastic...I had a Revell Cougar from about the same era that had the same issue. I think they were playing around with styrene formulas at the time, and some were just bad.
Excellent paint work, all your models have beautiful colors!! WOW busy dude, nice you can do the work yourself, I'm afraid I would have to get a new car LOL. Course those are ridiculous prices today OMG. The other airbrush I believe the word you were looking for was siphon feed. Anyway if we don't hear from you HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and the family (HI MOM)!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well Captian. I'm glad you like the bird. The water pump is behind the timing chain??? Not sure what Ford was thinking??? There's ALOT of labor involved just to get to it. I don't mind turning wrenches but More involved than any repair I've done before. Thanks for watching
A pure true classic!!! Love that blue!!!!! 100percent classic
Thank you Chris. I had to find something to put that blue on. The P1 final was posted Monday. Thanks for watching Chris
I thought these were the coolest cars when I was a kid. Nice job! 👍🏻👍🏻

Very cool build, Mike. It's such a cool car.
It is. I love old school Monogram kits. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
Looks good yet to build a super bird cool may be a twist but I like it.
It was a fun build. You can't go wrong with old school Monogram. The Revell kit is more involved but more accurate. Thanks for watching
I like it Mike , as you say steady as you go with the water pump marra 🤔. Regards Gav.
I'm glad you like the bird Gavin. I just can't believe they put it behind the timing chain??? Thanks for watching
Man Mike, You really fought that one, but it turned out beautiful! 😎👍
Thank you. I love old school Monogram kits. Glad you like the build. Thanks for watching

It almost all labor. About 350 in parts. Glad you like the bird. Thanks for watching David

Yes I believe your correct. Didn't know how to properly fix it at the time. Thanks for watching Bill
@@michaelhintzmikesminiature1812 yeah, I didn't either...so it became a wreck in the back of a garage diorama. I'd say you had better success here!
