Really surprised by the muted audience reaction to this superb, virtuoso performance. I’m guessing most of them had never heard the like of it before. You can always judge the character of a nation by the power of its folk music. The message: don’t mess with this nation.

There's something about a beautiful Ukrainian woman in a tall woolly hat wailing away on a drum while singing microtonal drones that really does it for me.
At first I was like “What the hell?”, & then I was like “What the hell have I been doing with my life when I could’ve been listening to this the entire time!”...
Ever since viewing their NPR Tiny Desk concert a few days ago, I became obsessed and I’m now plowing my way through every last second of DakhaBrakha content on the internet. Thank you, God, for this incredible, beautiful, original, soul-stirring gorgeousness. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I am now a fan for life.

The band deserves some sort of exemplary esteemed award for their talent and way of encompassing pure emotion and feeling. It’s like they take you in a journey. If I was loaded I would pay them just to play for me and anyone who wants to come somewhere beautiful and wooded with amazing acoustics.

Simply amazing. If the B52s came from the Ukraine they might sound like this. That’s a compliment by the way. Wonderful, smile inducing music.
ancient calls with modern twists, Bulgarian Slavic wonderfully odd harmonies, depth lightened with humor, a woman who sings so deep, a man that can sing so high, 3 wedding dressed Goddesses who drum excellently & sing with such passion with Ukrainian hats to top it off! Add cello, piano, accordion & squeeze boxes, everything played with such simplicity yet the combination of layers of exotica becomes complicated dreamy but accessible true musical art. touches of rap, funk, blues add another flavor poured over traditional calls for a mate that are barely imagined in our boring poprock western souls. thank you.

Very occasionally you come across a group of genius musos; Fairport Convention in the late 1960s come to mind. Their genius though creates tension that drives them apart making that magic time they are together quite poignant-it’s too fleeting. DakhaBrakha though seem to have found a magic potion that keeps them together. This is the third day of listening to them and I don’t want it to stop!

The music is hypnotic, the musicians are surprisingly competent, it doesn't have to go anywhere because it's already there. But it does go to places never imagined. Bonus.

Так на жаль народна пісня вимирає разом з бабусями , а матері вже їх не знають... Колись в моєму селі на Київщині дууууже часто співали на застіллях , тепер вже й нема кому . Даха Браха як ковток води в пустелі , ніби це сама душа України промовляє... !!!
