The Nintendo Switch Master repairer is in the house ! ! ! Really nice dedication / perseverance in repairing the Wi-Fi problem on this Switch unit. This is exactly why I have labeled you as the "Nintendo Switch Master" / "Nintendo Switch Whisperer" Super skills sir ! ! ! Fred
If you're in the uk i highly recommend his service for console repairs, mods, etc. Had my oled switch sent to him for a modchip install. 3 months later, everything is still perfect. Reasonably priced too
I've had exactly the same experience as you. I bought three WiFi chips that came in the same component strip packaging you had in this video. I've reballed them perfectly and installed them perfectly. Each time the Bluetooth works but the WiFi doesn't. There's a huge thread on GBATemp about this including some serious efforts to understand the WiFi aspect of how the chip works. Some evidence suggests it's proprietary and other evidence suggests it's loaded into the chip during boot. There's even a paper on GBATemp from the chip manufacturer on how this function works. In any case it seems that resellers have stocked up on these WiFi chips without necessarily realising that the firmware is proprietary to the Switch. So far it's impossible to correct this fw issue and the reseller will just say it's been salvaged despite being sealed in factory strip packaging. After several attempts I bought a donor board from eBay, salvaged the chip myself and it worked perfectly on first attempt. Don't buy 'salvaged' WiFi chips if you want to do this repair.. buy a donor board so you know you're not getting scammed. Edit: Also be sure to use the correct Broadcom or Cypress variant to replace the one that came with the switch originally.
Good video my friend!! I have problems with my Nintendo Switch OLED Zelda TOTK Version, so i think that this is the same problem with the wi-fi module making my Nintendo turning to Orange Screen.. so I need to reset my Nintendo and is so boring start doing this same thing all the days.. I want to bring it back to purchase and buy again the Nintendo to have it a different console without this problem.. Thanks for your video my friend!! Greetings from Mexico City (Cancún) 👋🏻
Hi, I am having the same issue with my nintendo switch lite and I dont have the wifi chip here in Ecuador South America do you think that I might be able to desolder the wifi chip and play with out it?
I disolder the wifi chip from my nintendo switch lite it works for a few seconds but after a bit I get the orange screen again so i guessing that it should be some else on the board!
I have same orange screen, but i take off my wifi module, and still orange. After this, i put one wifi module from switch lite and still orange screen. What can be?

I didnt see that in the video but is a good practice to give that IC a gentle tap by tweezers just to make it wiggle a little bit.

Did you see you were mentioned in someone else's stream lol
The new chips you buy aren't programmed so they don't ever work.
