The difference between the previous statue of Lucy and her replacement is like night and day. The first artist did not even get a glimmer of Lucy in her sculpture and did not reflect her at all. I approve this message for the new statue it was worth every penny!
What a HUGE difference! I love the energy and joy I feel when I see the new statue. A marvelous tribute to a marvelous lady, entertainer and television business pioneer.
They totally destroyed the first guy who created the statue. He offered to make another one for free yet was rejected by the Mayor. Give the guy a break. The original statue was his interpretation and it looks fine. Society/MSM is very cruel.
The first statue looks nothing like her though. Don't think they were interested in an "interpretation" of her that didn't even resemble her. I'm looking at google pics of the two and there's no comparison: the first one just sucks.
She was such a beautiful woman it's really hard to believe how anyone could have ended up with that first statue. My seven year old can draw better than that. No wonder her ghost is haunting us. The new statue? Well at least it's accurate enough to easily identify who it is, but it also has a creepy, clown like appearance to it.
Neither of the artists responsible for making the statues named once in this whole video, "decided to look for a replacement" it's like they expect them to grow out of the ground No respect or appreciation for the talent that must go behind creating statues like this
It still doesn't capture the beautiful likeness of Lucy. I have a Lucy sized Barbie doll that looks exactly like Lucy in"I Love Lucy" and she has and will always be my favorite. I love Lucy forever. ♡
From :25 to :28 you can see my daughter. The girl on her dads shoulders, higher than anyone else, being lifted up to see. Long light brown hair. I started the countdown that forced them to unveil when they were screwing around delaying!LOL!

It seems "impefect" to me but statues are works of art done by artists and this was decided on by more than one person and had to be accepted and signed for on the dotted line by someone representing the group in charge of having it done and after the 'scary Lucy" I think they wouldn't have taken it if it wasn't the representation the expected and wanted presented... I would think....
