    I want to add this bc I found something that works for me and hopefully it works for anyone out there. I’m very prone to getting sea sick I have thrown up almost every time I’ve been on a boat besides the past 3 times. Idk why this works but if you take Dramamine less drowsy 2 hours before your trip and then take a Dramamine nausea medicine pill right as you’re getting on the boat it makes it to where I can ride any boat and I am never sick after that. Just make sure you eat before taking medicine. Also it gets rid of anxiety for some reason idky but it calms you down a lot and you don’t have a worry in the world. Ik this works for me but hopefully it works for everyone out there that easily gets sea sick like me.

      Anyway you can post the actual names? Is the less drowsy the ginger ones or some other molecule? And thank you for the tip!

    Hi, good information. I take a Sudafed type decongestant the night before I go out in the ocean. Also take one in the morning and afternoon of the fishing day. We get our balance from our middle ear. If there is any congestion or fluid in the middle ear, you will get sea sick. Also ginger capsules or ginger ale will help. It helps calm the stomach. You are correct to say prevention is best. Thanks, Mickey

      Thanks a million for watching & giving some feedback. Motion sickness has many different faces, but once you got it, you got it. So there's an old saying that I get a kick out of about being sea sick.. "at first you think you're gonna die, then it gets worse because you realize you're not gonna die." I appreciate your support. Take care. Until next time, tight lines & good vibes.

    I'm glad there's Dramamine in the thumbnail. Taking it before I get in a boat😂

      Thanks a million for watching and leaving some great feedback. I truly appreciate it and your support for the channel. lets me know my thumbnails are effective, on point, and not click-bait. Just a piece of advice... Take the Dramamine about an hour before you get on the boat, that way it has time to take effect. Thanks again. Take care ;)

    When I was a kid my Dad and I would go off the coast of Georgia fishing for King Mackerel and I would get sick every time. One day our local fish camp had a drink called "Smooth Sailing" and its the only thing to this day that has worked. I'm not sure if it's still around or not 🤔 but it's legit.

    Hi Heath, I forgot to mention, Halls Menthol Cough Drops also help with sea sickness. You should take them as soon as you start to feel the first effects. Thanks, Mickey

    hi Heath, Recently found your channel and like watching, and learning some things too. I have this weird thing where I only will get sea sick during the daytime. I can stay out all night no problem. Do you think that sea sickness is something that you could get used to over time? What I mean is would you eventually get to a point where it wouldn't bother your anymore? Thanks, John

      Some people do get used to it and never have an issue. The daytime motion sickness is probably due to lack of fluids or dehydration. Personally, I've been on the ocean my whole life and I still get seasick.... go figure :)))

    I take dramamine after just feeling funny. The rest of the night is horrible. I cant get up even can't sit. I was lying on the deck whole trip.. basically cancelled the fishing...

    What should I eat the night before and the morning before

    • @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing
      @SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing  4 роки тому +3

      Hi, thanks a million for watching and asking a great question. Honestly, I don't think the night before meals have any effect. However, the day of your trip, I always bring some salty foods like pretzels or chips, also, cut oranges help too. Realistically, prevention & hydration are the key to avoiding motion sickness. I get seasick, so I always hydrate in the morning and take Dramamine, even if it's flat like a lake... I'm not risking ruining a good time.
      Hope this helps.
      Take care :)
