Hello. The two sharpeners are very interesting, each has its own advantages, here you need to think about what is more important to you, I like the compactness and reliability of the gen 3 xarilk mechanism.
Do you soak the stones in water before sharpening? I have seen you have reviewed more sharpening systems. Which one is the best in your opinion? When I go to aliexpress i see that the rod you move up and down and side to side has a stopper on it. Probably to stop you from pushing it to far and cut fingers. I don't see that stopper in your videos. Did you not install it or it didn't come with the sharpner.
amazing video mate, i seen all of you :) and i thank you very much. Just a question: I have a microtech ultratech ( otf) with a very narrow blade and i try to sharpen but i noticed when i set up the angle around 16-17 degrees, the stone touch the clamps, do you know any trick to solve this issue? i put on zero the inclinometer exactly like you, on the clamp part and after and for set up the right angle on the stones holder. Am I wrong? Thank you in advance, Cheers!
Hey, man, let me ask you something. I don't know how you call the piece where the sharpening "arm" (the metal rod + stone holder) glides through on this system, but I will call it the sharpening movement head... It allows two movements: the sharpening "arm" to go back and forth and the arm to turn from side to side. Can you confirm what kind of element to reduce friction (bearing, etc) it is used for each movement? It seems they use a plastic linear bearing for the back and forth movement, but the side to side movement seems to be made simply by the contact of the two aluminum parts.
Looks like I'll have to use the tsprof clamps on my Uncle Henry 168UH due to the flat grind. the stone will not clear the clamp nor hold the blade angle

How do you sharpen serrated knives? I will record a video in response to your request. And have you tried the Toohr 4 system? I have already ordered Toohr 4 and Toohr 5
Hey man, I just got the Toohr 3, and the holding clamps are so narrow I can put only thin knives in. Did you widen the holding clamps yourself. I also got 2 long screws with spring on them and I don’t know where to put them. Can you please share some input on this.
@@ArtTemaMix tnx for reply I solved those problems. But I found out that I must have some technique issues, because, as long as I feel the burr the knife seems very sharp but when I remove the burr the knife get less sharp then then it was before I removed the burr. The same happens when I progress to higher grits, everything above 3000 makes the edge super smooth and shiny but not as sharp as they were with lower grits. What could this be?
You are over sharpening that knife. The metal of that knife can handle that high of a grit. You will find most knives only get sharpened up to a 600 grit stone then you strop the knife. The reason he is going up to 3000 grit in the video is that knife uses a premium steel and can handle a high polished edge. Most knives only need to go to a 600 grit edge. Or the diamond stones are of low quality and the grit ratings are off.
@@nebulaM16yes like louietheknifeaddict said it depends on the steel of your knife since some like a toothy edge (low grit) wile other steels like a more polished edge (higher grit)
Thanks for sharing!
Does it have a compensator to accommodate different stone thicknesses without having to change your angle setting?
No, there is not
Hello. Wich one do you prefer this toohr or the new gen 3 xarilk . Cheers from Spain

This sharpener is pretty good. I bought it a long time ago, this is all that was included
Can you sharpen also small knifes with them?
another great video. Are these the diamond stones? Do you use them dry? Thank you
Most often I sharpen with dry diamonds, but sometimes I also add oil.

It is necessary to clamp the blade as much as possible by the very edge. Thank you very much for your support and feedback. Peace, goodness and love.

Bileme hareketi böyle hızlımı yapılır? başka videolarda yavaş hareket var hangisini yapmalıyım kararsızım 🤔
Yavaş hareket etmelisiniz, hızlı hareketler tehlikelidir ve bıçağın keskinliğini bozabilir.

Now I don't use this sharpener, because I found a much better one. But, if I'm not mistaken, there are bearings.
@@ArtTemaMix May I ask which sharpener do you use/prefer now?
@@ArtTemaMixwhat do you think that this sharpener can do better and what the much better one has extra? Thank you and looking forward for your reply!
Have u tried on a fillet knife yet ?
no, the fillet knife hasn't been sharpened on it yet.
