What with the band performing similar drill (although in this case not RCC but the Etiwanda HS band) and the Honda float making an entrance at the conclusion of the show, I consider this opening to be something of a spiritual successor to the infamous botched 2013 opening. Humorously enough, this ceremony was also subject to a techncial issue when the theme banner broke. Another notable fact about this intro is that the Etiwanda band would end up marching the whole parade bisected by Honda’s massive float.
