    Since you are rehabing that drift, I was kind of surprised that you weren't using 6 foot long steel Mats in conjunction with your Dywidag Bolts to hold up the screen panels (much better ground support than just the single Dywidag plates) .

    • @JoryDion
      @JoryDion  5 років тому

      we use 7,6 foot rebar, sometimes we use larger plates. We also use 10 foot bolts and 20 foot cables bolts with larger plates and some steel straps if need be.

  • @Bjlan23

    Very fascinating. Newfound appreciation for you and the whole mining community. Thank you all for your work and dedication.
    Question: What happens if a hole fails? (Maybe chips away too much or enlarges) Do you redrill nearby or continue with the same hole with extra reinforcement?

    • @JoryDion
      @JoryDion  Рік тому +4

      usually we drill 28 -32mm holes and the resign is 25mm . we would put more resign in. If it is only a small area that is crumbling away like this ill change the position of the bolt and overlap extra screen to keep the ground from unraveling . IF that does not work we would switch ground support types to a friction type (split set) or pull out and spray the hole place with shotcrete then go back in and install support. Or even switch to long cable bolts and grout.
      thanks for watching and good question.
