Breakfast begins and ends exactly at a specific time, which is unthinkable for Italians.
Grado is referred to as "the first Adriatic beach", as it is the first coastal town from Austria. The city was originally an island, with time a narrow, two-way road was built connecting it to the mainland, which allows you to get to it without using a ferry. The ride is a lot of fun, considering the fact that you are driving the high seas. And through the center of the old town, there is an artificial canal, leading to the marina in the very center of Grado.
Situated between the sea and the lagoon, the island has a unique microclimate: limited temperature ranges, high salt / iodine ratio, clean air, high water salinity. All this makes the city famous all over the world. Interestingly, Grado is also known for its healing treatments with the therapeutic properties of sand and sea.
