Part 1: Caleb discovers Steph has spent the night at the B&B so invites her to the Mill for breakfast. Jai approaches the pair and tells Caleb he wasn’t actually going to kill him yesterday. On Steph’s prompting, Caleb offers Jai a managerial position at the depot but Jai tells him to stuff his job. Cain is stressed which isn’t helped by Ross & Mack’s constant bickering. Caleb asks Steph if she got the letters he sent letters or if she read them and never replied. Steph isn’t sure it matters. At that moment, Ruby returns home and is stunned to come face-to-face with her daughter after 13 years. Cain is furious when Tom turns up at the farm to look at Moira’s prized bull but he’s forced to let him examine the animal. Steph makes it clear to Ruby that she’s only here for her inheritance. Caleb assures Steph the money is coming, but after learning about Caleb screwing Jai over, Steph has reason to doubt that. Ruby isn’t happy with Steph’s insinuation that she and Caleb would swindle her and things soon get heated. Caleb tries to calm things but Ruby asks him to leave so she can speak to Steph alone. Tom overhears Sam telling Cain that Samson is having some bother with his new cell mate and questions if it’s a right of passage for Dingle men to do time. When Tom comments Belle didn’t have a chance, Cain shoves him to the ground. Laurel wants to hold Jai accountable for hiding his assets although she has a rethink when Eric asks if she really wants Jai to go to prison. Things are getting on top of Cain and he takes his frustration out on Sam, Moira returns home. Ruby is stunned to learn Steph was in contact with her mum Helen for the last 6 months. Conversation soon turns Steph being sent to boarding school. Steph resents Ruby for her being sent away although Ruby believes it was for the best because at the time, 14-year-old Steph was out of control. As tensions rise, Steph labels Ruby a selfish bitch and comments it’s no wonder Helen was ashamed of her. Subsequently, Ruby slaps her daughter across the face Part 2: In the pub back room, Caleb fills Chas in on Steph’s arrival. Chas is shocked to learn Caleb & Ruby even have a daughter. Caleb explains Steph was a difficult child so he and Ruby packed her off to boarding school & she never forgave them. Caleb admits Steph acting up wasn’t her fault-she caught him cheating and he got her to lie to Ruby about it which he now regrets as Ruby found out anyway. Meanwhile at the Mill, Ruby tries to apologise to Steph. Steph isn’t interested in Ruby’s apologies as she believes Ruby never cared about her. She grabs her belongings and walks out. Moira can see Cain isn’t coping and questions what was the point in her having a break if she comes back to all this. Steph phones someone and fills them in on her altercation with Ruby. An emotional Caleb tells Chas how he and Steph were close when she was young-he should’ve fought her corner, but because of the affair, he couldn’t go against Ruby so Steph suffered as a result. He insists he can’t lose his daughter again. Over a drink, Brenda & Eric discuss wedding plans. Brenda assumes they’ll be getting married in the summer but Eric suggests a Christmas wedding instead. Laurel approaches Jai in the pub and asks how the job search is going. Jai reveals Caleb offered him a job but he told him to stuff it. Jai then apologises to Laurel although Laurel advises him to save his grovelling for Caleb as he’s going to need it. At the Hide, Steph flirts with Ross then invites him back to the B&B. Caleb promises Ruby they’ll get their girl back but Ruby isn’t so sure as they no longer know their daughter
