This is a short film of a day that family and I spent in Kasane.
The trip started with a beautiful sunrise and us departing from Gaborone which is located in the Southern part of Botswana and is also the Capital City of Botswana to Kasane all the way in the Northern Part of Botswana. The trip kicks off with a long day of driving - over 920 km.
We booked into the Chobe Safari Lodge's campsite at around 18:00 pm and we went straight to pitching the tents, and I slept like a rock after that long day on the road.
The next morning we woke up to a loud ruckus caused by a family of baboons that had taken over the tree tops of the camp . luckily they never came into the camp it self.
I packed up my rooftop tent and we started our 1st morning in Kasane by going on a self drive tour of the Chobe National Park.
We saw all types of wildlife as well as a lot of birds. at around lunch time we had driven about 30min away from Kasane to the Senyati Buch Camp to take some picture of the wildlife at there Dug out view point which brings you right no the wildlife at ground level next to the watering hole. Where we capture a beautiful Elephant bull drinking he's belly full of the fresh water that is being provided by the Bush Camp about 15 meters from us.
We then went back to Kasane at around 15:00 pm just in time for the sundowner Boat cruise. This was for sure the highlight of the whole trip .
we had the opportunity to enjoy watching a old Elephant bull taking a chance entering the Crocodile infested waters of the Chobe river, where he came to indulge in the sweet grass that is growing right in the middle of the river .
after the sundown cruise we went back to the campsite where we made a delicious home made pot bread with the most tender beef fillet that we bought from butchery in Gaborone called Gaborone Butchery.
