Just picked this up at my local game store. Wanted to introduce my wife to a classic medium weight euro. I like the concept and look forward to getting this to the table soon!
super fan of the game and I like the new version for the most part. the tiles can be a bit of a pain to read but overall it looks better then the old version.
I've never played this game before. I'm excited to grab it (only $40 at the moment). I mostly play solo but also heard its really good at 2 which I think is the most I'll ever play it with. I kind of like upkeep in solo games to keep my hands busy. If anything, it's considered a classic must have by most gamers so I think I'm really going to enjoy it. Especially without any sort of bias from previous versions. Thanks for the review on this version and mentioning solo. I appreciate it and loved the review!
Really enjoyed your review, guys, as this is a game I hope to play with my wife. I'll be honest, though, I think this "anniversary" edition is a bad artistic fail. I truly think its worse than its oft-maligned predecessor. Castles of Burgundy is unquestionably a modern classic, but it has yet to be presented with the attractiveness that its gameplay deserves (and unfortunately that goes for the Awaken Realms version too). Just my two cents. Thanks for the top-notch review; I am trying to pick up the trading routes expansion.

Makes me sad when I realize how inflated the prices over here are. I payed 70$ for this game :(

Fan from way back, just have the base game
Rule edit: 4:30 You get silver coins at the end of each *PHASE* not round.
Confused within the first 2 mins. Maybe starting with setting it up would have been easier for me to know what is going on
GIMME!
