I started my Investing journey listening to Phil Town taking to his daughter, about charley and warren, and the rule one investors. I am happy to be following you now as well. Always very useful content. Congrats for the good work, and thanks a lot, this video is super helpful.
16:07 ---- I'll be waiting for that deep dive analysis on the valuation page. Thank you so much for making all of this possible. I wouldn't learning as much as I am right now if it wasn't for you and Brandon! Thank you guys!
This is gold Hamish. So valuable to not just mindlessly calculate the figures, but hear your thoughts on how you actually think about the investment and evaluate the numbers.
This is really exceptional. Thank you for the resources and the continued education for new and intermediate investors
Thanks for your video Hamish
I was doing my spreadsheet in the same way, then a professor told that was a better idea to use the whole data, sales, ebitda, taxes etc. so you can change any variable to see how it affects the valuation. It’s a lot work and information but I think it’s more accurate
What a legend!
Great video! I think the addition of a face cam would be awesome man
Thank you! Have you ever compared your valuation method with that of Phil Town?
Great video and nice new spreadsheet!
At what stage in your analysis you start to fill up your spreadsheet?
Do you first read the annual reports and then fill it up?
Very nice of you
Awesome Video! Would you make a video on calculating growth rates correctly?
Thanks dude. I always seem to end up with an extremely low number for fair value. for example, Amazon is currently priced $3272 but my highest fair value is $778 for 20% growth which is way too low. Surely that can't imply that it's extremely overvalued by that much? I've double-checked all of the numbers, so I'm not sure why it's so low? I've also tried it with other companies and have the same outcome.
same issue here
Good job! 👌
Why do you not use an end multiple on the DCF?
is there any alternative site to use other thank tikr to collect the info? pref free versions in aus
No more quick fs?
I still use quickfs, but I've found that TIKR is more comprehensive and there's ALOT you can do with charting and the stock screener to quickly scan stocks before pulling them into the spreadsheet.
I am not able to download the spreadsheet, can you please help me?
Hi. Thanks a lot for the guide. However, i notice that all the buy prices I obtain at the end for almost all the companies that i input are almost impossible to hit. For e.g. the buy price for AMZN is $20 even at 10% growth rate. Are companies such as AMZN not suitable for the DCF analysis? Thanks!
Growth rates won't calculate for when I have had to input "$0.00". Like for example, for a company I'm looking into, early years had $0.00 for their EPS. What can I do?
unable to download the spreadsheet.
hello, how can i get the 50% off for the TIKR subscription that you talk about in the video description ? thank
@Hamish Hodder Hey, thanks for sharing this spreadsheet! What I find weird though is that when I use exactly the same numbers for DCF valuation (i.e. growth rate, starting cashflow, etc), I get vastly different results with 5Y and 10Y spreadsheet, is that normal? One would think that they should come up with about the same price today, regardless of whether we are looking 5 or 10 years ahead.
Hi Hamish. Thank you very much. I still didn't recieve an email to download your spreadsheet.
Hi, I have a question about the roic tab. What does it mean if a company's equity grew more that the total CF4O produced?
Does it make sense if the company did an IPO in another stock exchange during that time?
QuickFS and TIKR are great but the data of free versions only go back 5 years. As an alternative, you may consider MORNINGSTAR which goes back 10 years - without a premium subscription. Just a thought. And no, I am not associated with Morningstar in any way.
So Hamish’s base case scenario for Thor Industries’ growth is 6% (Insider Information Here)
😂 I just picked random growth rates for that example
I requested your free spreadsheet, but haven't received any...
why dont u use a simple multiple instead of perpetual growth rate? more simple and tangible in my opinion
Thanks again for your video Hamish
