I have watched so many vlookup vides. Youre the first one to mention upfront the left (value) to right order upfront. I wondered why it worked sometimes and not others.
I have taken many Excel courses over the years and never had to utilize the skills on the job. I needed a refresher, and I hands down give you a 10 on your training skills. I am thankful and grateful for your channel. I will definitely be utilizing your channel for guidance. I was always terrified when asked was I familiar with vlookups and pivot tables in an interview. Now I feel confident that I can manage, manipulate data and create a pivot table or vlookup formula. Thanks Leila!
It took me almost 2 hours trying to understand VLOOKUP and YOU made it so simple that I could identify easily what my problem was. Great work and keep it up!
Thanks again for this. Being an absolute beginner and just using spreadsheets for very simple tables before, and now required to create a more somewhat advance tables or records, your videos has really been very helpful to me... In this video, I was able to change my formulas from a long switch function to a very short vlookup function which is more flexible, specially because we constantly add more records that we use as a basis for our computations... Thanks again Superhero and super gorgeous Ms. Leila...
Now I understood the VLookup. I have been struggling with this for quite some time, but now it's all clear, untill some very complicated things come. Thank you Leila, and I love your personality too.
I started my internship in biotech company and I have to use vlookup a lot, your video and channel are very helpful, thank you for the great content :D
The goddess of Excel. Every time I need to know something I look up various videos and even the official Microsoft guide, getting nowhere. People mostly just skip over explanations. The video I saw before this one had a guy just plot in a function he had created himself. He didn't even freaking explain it! He assumed we just could look into his brain and read his thoughts.
I think your name should be renamed as “Lookup” Gharani...😝 All your videos based on Lookup features in Excel are Super awesome. And the important thing I love your videos are because of the stunning examples you follow. Thanks so much.
I had some large, individual sheets in all sorts of formats to include a common code number. Using VLookup saved me 1/2 a days work and my sanity from doing it manually! Thank you :-)
Thank you Leila for your helpful =IfError(function) demo; I never knew about this function. Love your channel! You help so many of us improve our Excel skills
Hi Leila.. nice video on VLOOKUP.. and your new use of the white board and dry erase markers.. classroom style! I always learn something new from your tutorials. Thanks and Thumbs up!
Thank you for dropping by Wayne and for the thumbs up! Yes, I'm just practicing with different styles trying to bring in some variation to the tutorials.
Thank you Madam. Really dedicating your life for the Excel. You are blessed person. Doing great job for the Excel learners/lovers/addicts/user. Pray the almighty to bestow good health, prospertiy, & some more innovative Excel tricks/tips/ideas for the benefit of Excel lovers/users. Royal & Devotional Salute to my Beloved and Beautiful Excel Excellent Person.
Great videos! Once I've learned Index & Match I've started to use it everywhere possible. For making dynamic VlookUps I'm using Column or Row functions instead of helper values, but it's a great workaround if you are not so advanced in Excel. Also the combination of Vlookup and Match combination is even better for doing some dynamic lookups.
Excellent, I picked up your course on udemy, and have been watching your videos on UA-cam as well. I don't normally comment, here I am forced to comment, very well explained, keep it up.
This is a great tutorial! One thing that has revolutionized everything to do with VLOOKUP and similar functions is the Name Box. It has simplified how to create and edit formulas by applying a name to a cell or a range. Absolute references are rarely needed and a range can be easily modified. Thanks again for your tutorials!
Superb! Your incredible way of teaching helps rookies a lot. We can learn from the scratch. And can become expert. Keep up doing this beautiful job. Stay blessed Ma'am😊 And as usual you are looking absolutely stunning!😊
Thanks for all your effort, Leila. Your job is adorable. What I've done at the beginning was to make our main dataset as a "table" and name it as a range and when I was using it in a report , instead of selecting all datasets again, I directly chose table name. I would like to see if this is also the right way to do it or it might cause some errors, please.
Extremely helpful. Im changing career to data analysis and my phone interviewer said make sure you study Vlookup and Pivot Tables. Found your video and Im hoping it will help me with the phone interview. I will go through your videos for other related dat analysis related videos. thank you
@@LeilaGharani Good Morning. Sadly I didn't get the job, not because of the excel items, which your explanations are outstanding, but because the online numerical reasoning test. Something I didn't study for. Its all good knowing how to use Excel but if the examples of numerical reasoning for understanding the data and producing the right answers don't match up, then your not getting the job.
Welcome Mam ! You are always creating new techniques in excel, Thanksssssssssss! (Mam pl. told me if use micro in one sheet, its work in every new sheet or not, if its used in all new sheet how can i remove in new sheet !) and another question their is any command in one click any word which i gave, its repeat !
I‘m not sure about your query but if the macro is in the worksheet event then it‘s only for that sheet. If you‘d like your macro to apply to the whole workbook then you can keep the macro globally and call if from the events of the specific worksheets....
The worksheets are available. If you go to the description below the video you’ll find the link to download. It will take you to the blog post. Scroll down and you’ll see the workbook.
thank you Ms.Leila, I was trying to learn Vlookup and I wasn't getting the correct value even if I give the correct equation which I think was correct, only after I watched your video, I understood that, Vlookup only returns the value correctly if we choose the left hand side lookup value in the table array, which I wasn't aware. thanks again. I have subscribed to your channel, and yes, the bell icon is on :D
That's so great to hear. I'm really glad the tutorial is useful. Tune in on Thursday to get the update on the new XLOOKUP which can also lookup to the left (among other great things).
I used to skip over formulas like that in worksheets I was playing with because it just seemed like a bunch of garbled numbers to me. This actually made sense.
OMG. I've seen this used by a colleague a few years back and I was amazed. I never knew what it was called, so I never knew what or how to search for it. On the other hand, I've always read the #vlookup everywhere on the web but never knew it was this. I guess I was intimated by the name in the past. *_I'm so glad I've found this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH._*
You are the best Formula Excel Tutor in UA-cam! All are well explained and I learned some formulas easier. But could you please do Another excel tutorial which is more on hotkeys and other excel functions?. I want to be proficient in excel like yours. Also, Do you have any pdf or have known any site where I can practice that formulas? Thank you so much!
Thanks Leila. Very nice approach as always. I don't use Vlookup that often now... I'm an INDEX, MATCH guy I guess. Like the flexibility INDEX provides.
