I had to do some thinking real quick and If memory servers me well (which it usually doesn't) doesn't Orin's trial and imprisonment act as a way for Jacob to prove himself? Actually, it wouldn't now that I think about it, as his case has already been delt with and Orin is being trialed for a different reason, though if people were to dig through his past and find anything which correlates to Jacob's story then If I'm correct it could actually lead to Jacob's sentence in prison being reduced as long as it's proven with evidence that there was a correlation between Jacob and Orin as well as Jacob's victims and the situation. (I know that Jacob and his sister are the "real victims" but being killed does make you a victim as well, despite being as horrid and disgusting as they were) Enough about the past and more onto the present. 1. Jacob having that internal fatherly figure inside him to actually ask and respect the boys answer is such a W quality and shows that he's going to be a great father/papa. 2. Come on Erin! The fact that he has picked the boys favourite movie is a sign! It's litterally a prophecy, it's as if the entity that personifies both fate and destiny came down and wrote it in full bold caps on the wall yet you still missed it xd. 3. I had to do some research and basically if I'm correct, if the investigators of the case with Orin had to do a background check on him and found any evidence that correlates to Jacob's sentence there might be a way for Jacob to be retrialed, in which it would become a case of self defence manslaughter or something like that, which in result could either reduce his sentence or completely free him from it, and if the evidence is substantial enough then not it wouldn't be able to be negated by Double Jeopardy Law and would be able to go through to a possible 2nd trial. This information is still only theoretical as I'm not 100% sure myself, but if anyone else who knows more would add onto this, I'd appreciate it😅 Also, investigators aren't always involved with cases like Orin's I think... meaning it's unlikely to happen in real life but if the trial he is to attend is to go over all the stuff he had commited then it's highly possible for investigators to be involved due to the abuse, possible breaking and entering, manipulation of medication, domestic violence (I think it'd still fall under that, if not its just assault) and Et Cetera
