So their chemistry in the studio just kind of took off from there. Munya's charisma and John liking to play the meek fool for laughs makes for a great dynamic, you hit the nail on the head

It's been said that the way the seating worked out, Dara is on one end and Sarah is on the other, and their 3 kids are in the middle. Compatitive Dad on one side, Sweet Mum on the other. Dad (Dara) is constantly disappointed with his incompetent kids (Fern and John) while Mum (Sarah) is patient & affectionate with her hyperactive boy (Munya).
I thought their martial arts bit would have been more effective had Sarah played the senI thought their martial arts bit would have been more effective had Sarah played the sensai. Munja then could have actually appeared to improve to mastery under her tutelage, which would, I think, have been both more impressive and funnier

In episode 2, when Munya claims he's great with technology but a laminator is unlike a PS5, Sarah asks "What is a PS5" and Greg explains "Playstation". Sarah dryly says, "Oh, for children". Later in Episode 7, Sarah had also came up with the "endless plate system" for the feather task, and she chose to go with Munya's pipe strategy instead, because he was so excited about it. She says, "It's like having a bairn, I imagine... and he wants to play with his tubes..." In Scotland and in Northern England (Sarah is from South Shields, near Newcastle), the term "bairn" means child. Sarah doesn't have kids, doesn't want them, and has been very honest in her comedy about that. In many ways, being on the team with Munya is so funny because he is like a child - he's just not *her* child. In the last two episodes of the series, she does smack him down, and it's so funny.

Fern also has a bit of an edgy side too. Her bio, her standup, and her podcast (Wheel of Misfortune) sheds light on her crazy life. She was a stripper in university, so the torture "cone" of Alex has a kinky S&M edge to it. And she was diagnosed as autistic, only quite recently, which explains a lot of her kooky interactions with people. She's so funny and fascinating. I'm a huge fan.

Huh- I heard he got an eye injury in this series and I correctly called the task and contestant. I just had the reason wrong. I thought Fern stabbed him in the eye while doing the makeup.
It was a great live task, as both John and Munya forgot the alphabet for a moment, and both teams got stuck on some animals. No one will forget the haunting cry of "Veeeeeee! Veeeeee!"
Dara: aggressive and somewhat analytical, takes every task seriously. Wholesome dad energy. Sarah: sweet and a little weird. Wholesome mom energy. Munya: cool guy trying to have as much fun as possible while still looking cool. John: hugely self-deprecating, like a sad clown. You just want to give him a hug. Fern: sleep-deprived chaotic. John may not be this series’ strongest competitor, but he is absolutely my favorite to watch.
John is one of my favourites on the entire show because he gives off the vibes of a Katherine Parkinson, failing at everything, but then he actually wins episodes.
There should be a TM Hall of Fame of lovably hapless contestants... Joe Wilkinson, David Baddiel, Katherine Parkinson, Nish Kumar, Paul Chowdry, Roisin Conaty, Judi Love, Victoria Coren Mitchell... John is a candidate for sure!

sarah and munya are a duo I wasn’t expecting at the start of the series but they’ve grown on me so much! probably one of my all time favourite teams, I absolutely love their dynamic :)
I thought they were a little too hard on John there, but maybe that's just because I know what the animal is supposed to be. Other than crouching down more, what more could he do? It's very hard to howl on that vowel (even though that rhymes nicely)

Comedians seem to be pretty good at playing off each other or letting each other work. Great improv skills in this cast. lol They know they are there to be funny and try to win while doing it.
This could be the best ever episode. Strong prize task, team task, location task, and stage task. The house task was good too. The trolley thing is something we’ve all wanted to do.

The last task had me in absolute stitches. Poor John trying to do an impression of a crocodile while saying B in the most despondent wail almost killed me - Beeeeeeeeeeeee! 🤣🤣🤣
The trolley task is one of the few Taskmaster tasks I'm genuinely sad I won't get to try on my own. (It would need the empty airport and actual luggage trolleys to have the same vibe....I suppose I could make a bunch of supermarket employees angry by trying it at my local Stop & Shop.)
Munya may be the most confident contestant in taskmaster history, and not even in a show-off way. Who else would confidently sniff someone's butt then climb someone else, both without warning or a hint of embarrassment.

It was great seeing John do so well this episode, considering his performance earlier in the season. But everyone looks like they’re having fun regardless, which I love.
When fern tried to sleep in the tubes and spotted a green bug I just laughed. Imagine if Fern just fell asleep for that task and Alex tries his best to wake her up and she's just so tired she doesn't want to leave and it's this awkward scene. I don't know why I thought that but that would have been funny.
If someone told me there was fanart of Greg standing on the summit of a hill naked, I'd believe it. Would not be surprised at all if someone had drawn that.
In one of Greg's comedy specials, he talks about staying in a house in the mountains in Spain where he said he went out in the morning, stood naked on the hillside and peed into the wind. I think that's where that line comes from.
What an exciting ending! I never saw it coming, and so happy to be here for it. I hate those "perform something" tasks, but that was the best one of the episode, wasn't it? Both teams nailed it.
Sarah and Munja take on challenges with the same sort of energy and enthusiasm they’re a great team it’s like watching two kids coming up with an ad hoc game
I wonder what they did to prep John to be scared about the foot. They were so ready for it, it really feels like they were just planting seeds that he might be having a "foot over the line" moment in the episode or something. Whether they orchestrated it or just reacted with the clip in real time, it's pretty dang impressive.
I think it was just because in both cases it was a surprising and seemingly effortless success like with Joe's potato throw, so it reminded both John and Alex (or some other producer) of it, which is why John was nervous about it and why Alex was able to show that frame.
I love that for the pleasure task, the men all said, "SPORTS!" and the women all said, "I take pleasure from your *pain* "🤣

this episode is a very strong collection of tasks
I wonder what they did to prep John to be scared about the foot. They were so ready for it, it really feels like they were just planting seeds that he might be having a "foot over the line" moment in the episode or something. Whether they orchestrated it or just reacted with the clip in real time, it's pretty dang impressive.
I think it was just because in both cases it was a surprising and seemingly effortless success like with Joe's potato throw, so it reminded both John and Alex (or some other producer) of it, which is why John was nervous about it and why Alex was able to show that frame.
