A rain-water reclamation system using the water falling off your roofs, would be the best way to save your well water. Love the new place, so much possibility.❤

I think you may have had a warmer micro climate at your old house with all of the houses and pavement in your neighborhood. Country living is a whole other ball game especially with all of the critters that will find your gardens enticing. Good luck and hopefully you won’t be getting a lot of snow this winter, your driveway is very long.😊 I can’t wait to see your magic happen in your new garden, it’s going to be a lot of work for sure ! I believe the tree which your plant stash is under, is a Linden tree. I have one in my front yard and love it! It does get sappy at times.

Check what type of well pump you have.
A constant pressure pump is well worth the additional cost, if you do not have one. Two-three showers at same time , washing machine, toilet & shower at same time, multiple outdoor taps running at same time. Beautiful new home! Welcome to gardening…with a well:).

if I saw correctly flower of the tree I think it is Tilia cordata ( dont know english comon name), they flower in late june in to july and perfume beautifully and honey bees love them. You can pick fowers and dry them and brew tea with them. Wondreful for upper respiratory infections.

It will be great in no time. The tree at the 10:00 mark is a linden (basswood). They smell heavenly. When I think of what June smells like, it’s a basswood.
The tree you have is a linden!! They are fantastic trees and get these beautiful sweet smelling blooms in the summer. I love them so much! What a beautiful piece property, Matthew! I am so excited to see what you do with it 😊💜

Garden Answer, Laura has a Well. They have drip and sprinklers. Very knowledgeable if you have any questions. Talk to her husband Erin. He put in all systems and they are planting several Ackers. Beautiful gardens. Live in Country like you.

You can add on to the well you have underground. We live on a farm and have hydrandts ever where off one well. Love your place and can't wait to follow your progress. I bet your dogs love the new area.

Congrats on the new house! If you are surrounded by cornfields, I highly recommend you read the industrial wind and solar ordinance for your county to see if your home may be surrounded by these industries that can be difficult neighbors. Beautiful new space already! The home looks really nice!
The tree is a linden = lime tree = basswood. It has wonderfully scented little blooms in June/July.
Agree on the ID of the tree & yes, the scent when it blooms is great. Also bees love the flowers.

Congrats! It’s going to be incredible once you begin landscaping. I can’t wait to watch your progress. Please don’t burn the blue spruce in your fireplace. It’s too soft of a wood and full of sap. That makes it very dangerous as it builds up creosote in the chimney.

OMG, you must feel like you're in heaven! What a gorgeous property! AND with a pool! How fun it will be to create all your new spaces. We have problems with gophers here and I use gopher baskets for plants I dont want to take a chance with (all my roses). Not so much with annuals/perennials. Congrats on your new place. It's truly beautiful and I know you will do remarkable things with it! Can't wait to watch your progress!
The Nichols brothers at Mr. Maple could tell you what varieties your maples are. I would give a careful, considered cut to the little one in the corner to give it a more open, layered look. Get rid of the boxwoods. No kidding.

An echinacea you might like is called ‘Cantaloupe.’ It has bloomed profusely for me in Greenville SC zone 8a and would be in your color palette. Long stems make flower arrangements easier. Congratulations on your new garden, even though new gardens are daunting.
Kudos to you for having the courage to start fresh. I'm currently torn about leaving my garden but you've encouraged me to explore my options. Good luck to you all.

Gorgeous piece of property! So much to work with. I live on 3.5 acres and have been making new planting areas shortly after we bought the place in 2018. I'll never be able to do all I want to with limited income. Can't wait to see how yours comes along 😬

Hi Matthew! It's so nice to be able to see your new house and property. You have some really beautiful trees along the back and in the yard. Are there sprinklers that water all of the lawn, because it looks so green an pretty? I love your pool and am happy you have one to enjoy. Your pups names are eluding me, but do they like the pool? The fence is nice and will be beautiful with hydrangeas planted all along it. You do have a lot of work to do cleaning out the flower beds and I hope you're able to get what you want to done so you can start your planting when you want to. I missed seeing the decks at the beginning of the video, so went back and watched it again. They are really pretty! I'm really looking forward to seeing everything you do in your gardens. I can see why you love this place, it's really beautiful, and I know it will be more beautiful when you add your touches to it. Thank you so much for sharing!

What a huge property!
Bet you have some great ideas spinning around.
I like to get pen to paper, and start from scratch....usually start with the direction of the sun and the houses walls and windows...and take into account a lower lying sun in winter, which may affect your glasshouse...it may have to be moved forward to catch the winters sun rays.
I think you may have some nice surprises under all the weeds.
Those penstemons look like "pearls and onyx" or "masquerade", both from Proven winners.
Unfortunately, you cant get them here in New Zealand.
They are absolutely beautiful, in flower...like jewels or gem stones, glistening in the sunset.
Astrantias are another gorgeous flower for a border, so many varieties.
Start them from seed if you can and collect seed for the following spring.
Take your time and make lists...lists always make life easier.
